Chapter Two:
Shawna threw her arm over my shoulder and said with a frown, "I hate this. It's the middle of the year and people still try to tear us down because of how we prefer to do things." With a sigh I nodded "Yeah, it really sucks."
Mrs.Vader gave us a funny look but as usual we ignored it and went inside. My locker was three away from the door where as Shawna's was at the other end of the school. "See you at lunch!" She called over her shoulder. "Later" I called back. I twisted the lock and hit the door. It always stuck and hitting it usually helped.
Something snapped on my arm. I looked over to see Josh walking away with a grin, a rubberband around his wrist. Cupping my hands around my mouth I called "Get ya' in homeroom!" His booming laugh drowned out all other sound and I couldn't help but release a giggle. Quickly pulling out my binders I tossed my bag into the locker and slammed it shut, which was the only way it would close, and jogged to homeroom.
When I got into Mr.Lanley's class I tossed my books on the desk while I sat on the edge of the desk. It sounds really cool but it always just ends up with my books all over the floor. I stared at the jumble of papers on the ground with a frown. "Josh, pick it up." He shook his head and gathered the papers. While he did this I swiftly slid the rubberband from his wrist and snapped it on his arm. But of course I just ended up with my papers thrown back on the ground as he put me in a joking headlock.
I managed to twist out but it was only because he let me. Usually I'd be stuck there until Mr.Lanley yelled at us. He gathered my papers again and sai "Hey, your fifteenth birthday is coming up. What're you gonna do?" I let out an over exaggerated sigh and said "Oh I don't know." He smiled and said nothing. We both know that it'll end up at my house with some scary movie. It's like that every year. It's like tradition.
"Hey, it's snowing!" someone pointed out. We glance out the window but continue with what we were doing. We had known it was going to snow. Josh gave a mischeivious smile and his eyes twinkled. "Oh lovely." I said rolling my eyes. Snow meant snowball fights. And snowball fights meant rolling around on the freezing ground as we smushed snow in each other's faces. And this was unavoidable since we had to go outside to get to some of our classes.
I licked my fingers and wiped my make up off. I had been trhough so amny snowy days that I knew that when you wear make up when there's snow it'll run down your face and you'll never be able to get it off for some weird reason.
Ellie flounced over. Her neon green knee length skirt bounced up and down. I don't know how to describe Ellie really. She had a dark skintone, straight black hair that reached the bottom of her back, dark black eyes, and she dressed like a neon gypsy. "Alice Rose, Josh, guess what!"
"What!?" We asked with huge smiles. Ellie brightens the room. You can't help but smile around her.
"I was looking at the stars last night and I found something!" Ellie was also really into stars, horoscopes, and stuff like that.
"What'd you find?" Josh asked, still smiling.
She bounced up and down on the toes of her black converse with neon yellow stars printed on them and said, "It's a good year for the cross country team! But it's a bad year for the swimmers." Ellie also runs cross country.
Josh gave a frown and his forehead creased. He's a swimmer and he hates when Ellie predicts things like this. She always ends up right somehow. The bell rang and we all ran to class.
