Chapter 2

Oh god, it was happening again. I brought the pillow over my head and tried to sleep through the noise even though I knew it was close to impossible. Finally, I sat up and threw my alarm clock at the wall across the room to my left.

“Would you stop? Some people are trying to get a decent night of sleep!” I scowl and plop back down. This has been happening for the past few days. Someone moved in next door, wanted to celebrate his new move-in and did it by partying with some of his friends he made here. For three days straight!

I couldn’t remember the last time I was so tired. Oh right, the day before today, and the one before that day.

I gave up on trying to sleep on threw on my clothes, then left my room and headed towards the one next to mine. Time to have a little chat with the neighbour. I knocked on the door and almost immediately the door opened. I gasped. Blond hair, blue eyes, 5’8 feet tall, it can’t be...

“Daniel?”

“Michael?” He looked as surprised as I do.

“What are you doing here?” We both ask at the same time, and I roll my eyes. I decided to answer before he could.

“The noise level's too loud,” I say dryly, “You?” Why am I even asking him? Of course he’s here to party, why else?

“I-” He never did get to finish his sentence, because just then someone interrupted us.

“Why, what do we have here?” I look over Daniel's shoulder to see the newcomer. “Aren’t you a good-looking little something,” said person then licked his lips. I look at him warily then discreetly inched away from him and Daniel, moving closer to the hallway and farther from the door.

“Uh...” Oh, how coherent I am. Good thing Daniel was here, or else I wouldn’t know what to say.

“Seven,” he said glaringly. “Leave him alone.” Go Daniel! I cheer silently and heard him chuckle, which made me smile in turn.

Seven, the thin looking guy with high cheek bones and dressed in black, clucked his tongue. He looked at me and said “Sweetie, if you need anything, I’ll be here,” then left abruptly after sending a bright smile my way.

Well, now I know who my neighbour is. After a few moments discussion with my partner, I headed back to my room and took a relieved sigh. The silence was welcoming, and I turned myself in, hoping the silence would stay with me for the rest of the week.

You know, it wasn’t until the next morning that I realized what I had come there for, and I sighed heavily, deciding to go back there once more.

I knocked on the door multiple times, but no one answered. I twisted the doorknob, and found it unlock, so I walked inside. There was not a single shade of light in here, and I wonder where everyone-

“Ah!” Oh god, the throbbing pain. What was that? It just slammed itself into my stomach. Then, I felt something run by in-between my legs and the hair on my neck stand on attention. I think I’m going to be sick. I turn around to leave, only to come face to face with a pair of mutated wide eyes and a mouth stretched so open it had to be inhuman with hair stretched far and wide. I abruptly opened my mouth for a scream but it never left my mouth, because it slammed me onto the wall. The scream left then, loud and clear, for the whole world to hear or so I hope.

“Michael!” I frantically tried to look at the familiar voice calling me, but only saw the monster standing in front of me. I screamed even louder, trying to rid the tears that were forming at the same time. I coiled myself into a small ball, and with shaking arms, I placed my hands over my ears. I stop for a breath before releasing another series of screams.

No! Something grabbed me by the arms and I struggled to move away, kicking my legs and swinging my arms.

“Shh, Milie, it’s fine now.” I heard the soothing voice coo. I look up at him and relaxed temporarily. When was the last time he called me Milie? I suddenly remembered why my throat felt so raw and looked around. “It’s okay, it’s gone now.” I look at him, albeit scared, and wondered why he was so calm. It was then realization hit me.

“What’s going on, Daniel. I know you know.” He was quiet, too quiet. He really did know something, didn’t he?

“Alright, come on,” He took my hand and led the way. I couldn’t help but feel queasy as I stepped on something squishy yet hard. Bile rose up to my throat. I had a feeling it was the corpse of the thing from before, and I shuddered. Oh god, I hope not.

Hey Brokenwing,

Tanya here for another review.

Ok, as much as I loved the previous chapter, this one was confusing to me. The actions happened so fast, the mc when to ring the bell, Daniel opened the door but Michael previously said that Daniel was his partner. SHouldn't he have known that he was moving there? Daniel opens and Seven shows up. From behind Daniel? Not clear.

then the Mc says that it wasn't until the next morning he realised he'd forgotten the reason for going but nowhere do you mention him leaving the appartment and going back to his. And the action was confusing from the moment he opens the door and sees . . . something, gets 'attacked' and Daniel shows up. Wow, this needs some clarification because the last thing you want is to have your reader confused.

Now, Michael. Is he gay? Is that the reason he seems to effiminate? And that Daniel calls him Milie? If not, this is wrong, doesn't feel right. No guy would accept to be called Milie, in my opinion anyway. And I really get the impression this is a girl...

Anyway, pm me for the next chapter??

Tanya :D
