Tigger:
I got up and walked over to where Kale and a man I supposed to be his father were working on Tarrion. Aris was standing nearby, looking at the process over Kale's shoulder. I was suddenly overcome with worry, the sarcastic comment that I had ready to be delivered crawled into the back of my mind, saving itself for a later time.
"Is he going to be alright," I mumbled into her ear. She jumped a bit and quickly spun around with a bewildered expression on her face. "Don't worry, dear, I don't bite. So, what's his status?" She looked at the ground before looking up at me. Her eyes were red rimmed and puffy. Great. She had been crying...again.
"He should be fine," she whispered. I nodded and turned to walk away but she grabbed my wrist. "Tigger," she started, "I have a question." Not even waiting for me to answer, she pulled me further away from the rest.
"Go ahead," I sighed, "what is it that you want to know?" Things were quiet for a moment. She tried to look everywhere but at my face.
"Do you know anything about...well...Selene? Her relationship with Tar of course." I smiled and darkened my gaze.
"What makes you think I would?" She scratched her head and rolled her neck.
"Well...do you?"
"Not much. He seems to like her, as for her...well, that's a mystery even I have yet to discover. She seems to...at times. I think she does." She nodded and started to talk again, but I wasn't really listening. Something was coming, you could hear it in the air. Extra feet, mumbling, the clang of metal...
"Shh," I hissed at her. She abruptly stopped and hugged herself.
"What is it?" I listened closer and my heart nearly froze.
"Guards," I mumbled. She looked crossly at me.
"What did you say? I can't hear you." I bounced on my toes and looked around widely.
"Guards! Guards, go warn the others! Get Tar to safety," I gave her a little push before starting to climb a tree. "Go on," I yelled at her," don't just stand there! If you all leave now you'll be able to get away."
"What are you talking about," she gasped. I glared at her and drew my knife.
"Explanations will come at a later time, dear. Just go."

TARRION

I didn't talk as they worked on me. I couldn't say anything for two reasons. Reason number one was that I knew if I opened my mouth, more blood would come out. I'd probably pass out, which wouldn't be good. Number two, Selene was confusing me. I needed to know what she thought. I felt discouraged, unwilling to say anything.

Aris appeared beside me with Selene. "We've got to get out of here!" Aris was panicked. Great.

"What's wrong? Tarrion can't travel!" Kale's father snapped at her.

I lost all will to stay silent. "Lay off!" I hissed. I wasn't in love with Aris...I didn't think. But it didn't mean I didn't care about her. She was one of my best friends and I felt horrible about making her upset. I turned to Aris and Selene. Both looked panicked. "What's wrong?" I felt blood rising in my throat.

"Guards," Aris murmered. I blinked. Was she friggen serious?

I couldn't hold it back any longer. I started coughing and blood pooled at Kale's father's feet. He cursed. "Kale didn't tell me that you were throwing up blood!" He shouted.

Aris wheeled around to him. "Shut up! We've got to get him out of here!" Never had I felt so horrible about anything. Not even murder could have put as much guilt on me as hurting Aris did. "Selene, help me get him out of here."

She nodded, but still didn't speak. They helped lift me up and dragged me away. I swore I was going to black out anytime now. "Where's Tig?" I managed.

Aris
I shut my eyes tight. Making a fuss was not going to help out anyone. And suddenly, I was calm. "Alright, you've got a horse and cart, right?" I snapped at Kale's father. He nodded. "Then put Tarrion in the back- now, and Tigger, get everyone else back there with him. Comfort is not an issue," I added. Tigger smirked, and I realized that order was totally unneeded. Tigger didn't care whether or not they were comfortable.
Kale was the last one by my side as everyone hurried to the cart. "What can I do?" he asked.
"Just make sure-" Tigger appeared by my side and quickly interveined.
"Listen, Aris, the only way we're going to make them stop is if we fight them."
"But if we lose," Kale reminded him, "Then we'll be dead and everyone else will be being chased by those hellhounds."
"And if we don't fight, then eventually they'll catch up to us and we'll all die," Tigger insisted. "Listen, Ari, for Tarrion?"
But somehow, that didn't bother me anymore. Tigger had explained it all to me without sympathy, in a striaghtforward manner, and somehow, it didn't hurt that much anymore.
"For everyone," I decided. "Selene will go with them, keep them in check," I nodded towards her, "And me, you, and Kale..." I paused. "We're going to fight."

TARRION

"What?!" I demanded the two. Hearing they were going to fight seemed to renew some of my energy. "Aris, you can't go fight them!"

She turned to me, furious. "Why not? Since when do you care?!"

I tensed up. Did she know how much I cared? "Aris...I care about you, just...in a different way," I whispered.

Tigger rolled his eyes. "Okay, we've gotta get moving." He tugged at Aris' arm.

I glared at him. "Aris, look. I'm sorry, okay? I was interested in you, but you only seemed to show friendship. I assumed that's all you wanted, so I gave up." I sounded harsh, but it was the truth.

She blinked at me. Tigger moaned.

" Tarrion I do love you but I'm afraid that Talen will find out and use that." I whispered standing up behind them I walked the other direction doubting that any of them would notice. If I was caught it wouldn't matter anymore. Tarrion didn't care none of them did I was stupid to think that. None of them knew that I would die for them I would die fighting to guarantee their freedom. I sighed and closed my eyes forcing myself to not cry.Tears are useless now. I reminded myself. "No one hears her scream no one hears her cry no one cares if she dies she walks alone she always has a lonely lovely road paved with pain and blood sins of her past forever there." I sang quietly to myself. I tilted my head to the sky and screamed hoping that they would hear. "I"M SORRY FOR LOVING YOU TARRION! GUYS I"M SORRY FOR CARING I"M SORRY! I"M SORRY!"
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me."

TARRION

I stood, half supported by Aris, gaping. I would crawl to catch her and bring her back if I had to. I turned to Aris, my eyes pleading with her to understand. "Please, I'm sorry. You have to let me go," I murmered.

Her eyes teared, but she did let me go. I stumbled forwards. Why had I let Selene hear that? Man, I was a moron. She screamed an apology for something. For loving me? Was she serious?

I had to get to her. She was liable to get herself killed. Then again, what was I doing? If the guards showed up there was no way I could survive them like this. I shoved the thoughts aside and followed Selene into the forest. Kale's father was screaming at Aris and Kale, probably Tigger too. It didn't matter at this moment, I'd deal with it later.

"Selene! Come back here!" She glanced back at me, but didn't stop. Would she come back to me if I faked a black-out? No, because that would mean falling flat on the ground. Not a good idea in the state I was in.

I sped up, ignoring the pain coursing through my body. I would catch up to her whether she liked it or not. "Selene! Please! I'm not going without you! I'll die in the bush or get killed by a guard, but I'm not leaving unless you come with me!"

She paused. She wouldn't risk my life would she? She stood with her back to me, motionless. I sped up as much as I could. Finally I made it to where she was standing. My body was screaming at me, threatening to pull me into unconsiousness. I mentally yelled at it to shut up. Pain, however, can be disobidient.

"You-used to love her?" she murmered. Moron! Moron! Moron! Moron! I yelled at myself.

"Look, it was a stupid thing to say. I thought I loved Aris, but it wasn't real. She's my best friend, not my lover." I put my hands on her shoulders, hoping that I wouldn't black out then and there. "Will you please come back with me? I assure you, I'm not going anywhere without you. I will die." I let her soak that all in.

~Taeryn~

I strode through the corridor, flanked on either side by a soldier. I had the perfect plan to replace my brother in her eyes forever, to finally make her realise how much more faithful to her than he was.

I was going to bring back the prisoners.
Then, finally, she would realise my worth above Rajun.

I stopped as I reached the throne room, waving off the guards with a brief gesture. The doors were opened, as I walked through briskly, bowing as I came to my mother. She was sat in silence on the throne, a regal expression on her face and her staff held tightly in her hand. The tension visible in her wrist was the only sign of any anxiety.

She looked down at me slowly. "Yes?" she asked calmly, and I inhaled deeply. This was my chance.

"I- I heard of the prisoners," I began haltingly, and Talen raised an eyebrow. "I will find them. I'll bring them back."

There was a silence, and Talen looked at me in consideration.
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you will have a chance to show it. To do the right thing."
Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."

Talen:

"Dear.... I really shouldn't let you go..." Talen mulled it over, stalling for time.

"If I were Rajun you'd let me go." She protested.

"Rajun finished his training with the knights already." Talen replied.

"Mom, the only reason is because you said I wasn't ready to advance onto the next level. I'd be so far ahead of him if you'd only let me."

Talen saw a part of herself in Taelyn. Anyway, there was everything to lose... "You can go. I don't think you're ready, but you can." Talen shook her head slowly. "But under one condition. You have to take at least one other person with you. You absolutely can't go alone." Before Taelyn could contradict, she swept out of the room. She had to get Rajun back, if anything.

I looked up at Tarrion feeling myself break slightly on the inside I knew what he meant I would die without him too. "Do you mean it?" I asked looking down letting a small bit of hope creep into my voice then regretting it. I grabbed one of his hands and sgueezed as lightly as I could. "Do you really and truly mean it?" I repeated.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me."

Sad moment! But Aris is finally getting over Tarrion- yay!
Aris

Somehow, now that I knew what was going on, I felt... better. I knew what would and would never happen, I knew to give up. And I realized- I wanted the best for Tar. And that meant, however much it hurt, letting him go. He was still my best friend, and that would be good enough for me.
Instead of feeling torn, I felt.... free.
"Ok, they can have their sappy moment, but then they have to go, and quick," Tigger said. "We can't hold the guards off forever," he added.
"Right," I said. "When we escaped, Tigger, you said you stole some swords? Well, we'll need them," I said. "Three, for me, you, and Kale."
"Not a problem." he quickly walked off to get them.
"You alright?" Kale asked.
For the first time in ages, I could honestly say yes.

TARRION

I smiled at Selene and brushed the hair out of her eyes. "You know I mean it," I whispered.

She smiled at me. "I can't believe you followed me...Like this," she stared at the wounds on my arms and chest.

"Dedication. I mean it, one hundred percent. Come back with me?" I prayed she would say yes.

"You're such an idiot Tar." She shook her head at me and for a moment I thought she was going to back down. "I'll come back. But what about the queen?"

I thought about that for a moment. What did I say to that? I couldn't fight her...I wouldn't let Selene fight her... "We'll worry about that when the time comes."

She sighed and nodded. I heard muffled shouting. The soldiers were getting close. "We've got to get out of here." She grabbed my arm and slung it around her shoulder. I smiled. Selene was coming back with me.

Tigger: Woohoo. Yay. Happy fun time everyone, they got back together. I rolled my eyes and slipped back into the forest, searching for the swords I put on hold. Hmm, where were they? I could have sworn they were right under this tree... "I heard a few noises this way," called a gruff voice from not to far from the left of me. Guards, and they were close. With a great sigh, I sat on the ground and sent out a silent prayer. Don't wait for me, Aris, Tar, and Boomerang! Please don't wait. Please don't... Something hit me in the head and I groaned. "Hey you! stand up slowly and put your hands on your head." I did as I was told, smirking a bit at his tone. "We have you surrounded," he yelled into my ear. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Well duh," I said while laughing. A sharp pain rocketed up my arm as my wrist was twisted and plastered to my back. They were taking me away. I had to warn the other. "Run," I screamed as loud as I could. "Run, they're here! Get away-" Suddenly, everything was black...

TARRION

I was sitting in the cart next to Selene. I heard Tigger yell and tensed up. Selene grabbed my hand, eyes widening.

"They have Tig..." I muttered.

Aris and Kale looked at me fearfully. "He yelled to run," Aris stated. Well, no duh!

I didn't know what to do. I couldn't go out there after him... Kale's father muttered something about one criminal being lost and how it wasn't a big deal. I wanted to slug him across the face. Sure, Tigger was irritating and insensative, but he was also my friend.

I swallowed hard. We couldn't leave him behind! Kale's father started up the horses and I panicked. "We can't just leave him!" I shouted, thought there really was't much point.

Aris looked at me. She didn't appear hurt anymore. "We'll go back for him, after you're safe."

I sighed. She was right, I couldn't fight like this. I could hardly walk. Tigger would be okay. He was strong. But I couldn't help doubting...

Aris

I heard Tigger yell for us to run. Tarrion and Selene were already leaving with Kale's Dad. I had to stay behind. "I'll catch up," I said. The cart left. Tarrion yelled, but he was in no condition to stay behind with me and Kale.
I went pale. "Tig!" I whispered. "Oh, God, let him be alright." I began to run towards the forest.
"Stop!" Kale grabbed my arm. "Ari, Tig wouldn't want-"
"I don't give a damn what Tigger would want," I said. "Listen, Kale, there is no way I'm leaving my friend with those fiends." I gave him a stubborn look.
"I know, Aris, we'll get him. But we need a plan!" Kale said, exasperated. "We don't even have friggin' swords!"
"So?" I stared at him challengingly. So, Tigger could be annoying sometimes. He was still my friend.
"Alright," Kale gave in, "Let's go."
