I really want to start this now... we've got something like 13 characters. I would hate for this to get over-crowded. Trust me, overcrowded storybooks easily fall flat on their face.
@Lady: I don't understand your character's personality - it seems very contradictory... 'Sweet and understanding' yet also cold and malicious?! Gentle yet has a short temper?! Maybe needs to be edited to make more sense, unless they're some kind of schizophrenic...
The rest of the profile seems really interesting, just that part seems quite bipolar.
I agree with Skins, can we start soon? I know Kara wanted the not-chosen-one to be taken, but maybe he could be an NPC for now?
Elizabeth: "There will come a moment when you will have a chance to show it. To do the right thing." Jack: "I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by."
Ahhh... therefore, we're just waiting for Kara. [BTW I love your character ]

Name: Layton Age: 33 Gender: Male Species: Half human, half oracle Appearance: Tall and well-built. Strong-jawed, dark haired and almost black eyes. Likes wearing hooded white robes, like other oracles. Looks young because he's half-oracle.
Picture (if possible):Spoiler
Personality - Strengths: Generally a brilliant tactician, though that may due to his not being entirely human. Can easily see the possible outcomes of a certain situation. He remains level-headed in most situations and needs to keep doing something. Is not a sore loser. Incredibly charismatic and is amazing at speeches, which is why he has a huge army.
Personality - Flaws: Cannot sit still. He needs to be doing something whether it's taunting the enemy or coming up with new plans. Is too attracted to gems for his own good. He is a bit outlandish and enjoys flaunting his assumed superiority. Major superiority complex. Is slightly insane.
Combat/Survival Skills: Good at swordplay and sharpshooting, whether it be with guns or bows and arrows. Not bad in hand to hand combat. Can use a bit of persuasive magic.
Weaknesses: Fails at camping. He's too picky and spoiled and is actually appalled at the very thought of it. Cannot cook for himself either. Those aside, he's more offensive than defensive as a fighter. Also, he tends to be an ingrate, so there are a handful of traitors in his ranks.
History: Layton was born to a human father and an oracle. The oracle left him in the care of his father in hopes that he wouldn't be educated, but his father wasn't ashamed of his bastard son. Rather proud of him, in fact. Is one of the nobility and therefore untouchable to the king's armies. (That's where the chosen one comes in.)
When Shane was declared the chosen, Layton knew something wasn't right. But because the real chosen one was with Shane, the power being emitted from the group was quite strong. Therefore he came to the wrong conclusion that Shane is probably the chosen one and his intuition was wrong on that count.
"The moral of this story, is that if I cause a stranger to choke to death for my amusement, what do you think I’ll do to you if you don’t tell me who ordered you to kill Colosimo?“
Layton was having a wonderful breakfast of pancakes and waffles when the letter came in. He already had a vague idea what it was about. The chosen one, yes? The bumbling wizard had found him.
Layton swallowed a mouthful of waffles and paused for a moment. Should he wait until after breakfast or should he open it now? He decided to open it now. Why wait? So he opened the letter and behold! He was right. It was about the chosen one.
"Master Layton,
Bertram the Bumbling has found the savior of the nation. His name is Shane Dane, and the king had to drag him out of his house. He will be on the way to your fortress tomorrow, though I think the journey will take a while."
...
They chose Bertram the Bumbling to find the chosen one? Layton burst out laughing. Bertram was as good at magic as a turtle was good at climbing trees. Layton laughed until his stomach hurt and he gasped for air. Dear God, what were they thinking? No wonder the name Shane Dane didn't ring any bells.
Shane Dane was probably some poor farmer's heir about to be forced to go on a journey he would never survive.
For a moment everything was still. Layton sat on his throne, wondering whether or not he should visit this Mr. Dane. No doubt he was in the castle now, being scrubbed and briefed on what he was supposed to do.
Perhaps he should go to the castle. It had been a while anyway. Not as if someone would murder him there. Layton would go as far as saying none of them would really recognize him anymore - 10 years of absence often did that. They probably recognized him with his polished bronze mask on, but without it even the king would be unable to identify him.
Yes, yes. He would pay Mr. Dane a visit. Later. After breakfast. After all, evil masterminds needed amusement too.

I brushed through my hair once more before glancing in the mirror. I guess I looked acceptable enough. It was just a trip to the coffee shop after all: I've to have my vanilla frappachino every morning or else I was downright grumpy! After making sure my necklace was clasp tight and my boots were laced up straight, I headed out the door. It was a nice morning, the air was cool and the sun was low in the sky. Not many people littered the walk way and the trip was nice and relaxing. I loved the park really, the trees captured the sunlight and through patterns of randomness onto the pathway. There sat old couple feeding birds and young lovers doing I didn't care to know what on the benches. Mothers with their babies, kite fliers, pinic goers... I stepped into the coffee shop and stalked up to the counter, smiling lightly. "The usual, Cenny," I smiled at the cashier who I was now on a one name basics with. "Vanilla frap coming right up, Tally. Should I add it to your tab." I plastered a mock look of horror on my face and grasped the spot of my black and red dress that rest over my sleeping heart. "Heavens no! I have money this time, thank you very much." He laughed as I finshed a five out of one of my hidden pockets. I handed him the money and my drink appeared in the next twenty seconds. "Thank you, Cen," I said while turning around, "I simply must remind myself to..." In mid-sentence, as I was turning around, I bumped into a person I hadn't even realized was there. My still hot frappachino went flying across the room-thank the gods it didn't spill- and the person I rammed into went falling towards the floor, along with myself as well. "Oh my," I gasped, "I am so very sorry!"
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" a girl with long hair looked completely embarrassed. I quickly stood up, brushing myself off and trying not to laugh. "It's alright," I said, grinning. "This happened yesterday, too. I'm Zanea." I shook her hand.

I scooped up the girls coffee and took a drink of my own. It was a coffee shop cup but rather than coffee I put blood in it. I walked over to the girl and held it out to her. "Your coffee." I said in my Irish accent. I looked to the other girl. Her heart beat sounded delicious.
I averted my attention to the other girls still heart as she slid the cup from my long fingers. Eying my cup the girl said "Thank you." I held my cup out to her "Do you want some? I had some earlier today." She shook her head and quickly said "Oh no."
I offered my name to them "I'm Esmerelda. But people call me Esme." "Tally." The other girl, the human, said "I'm Zanea." Taking a drink I attempted to sooth my craving for human blood with the animal's.
Tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear I said "Would you guys mind hanging out with me today? I have an urge to do something and I'm so totally bored! Would you please?" Scratching my head I then added "And I think it'll help get my mind off of, er," I glanced at Zanea and said "some complications with some people and me."
I bowed quickly to Esme and the other girl, Zanea. "I would be delighted," I said as I rose. I waved back at Cenny before heading towards the door. "Well," I started after sipping my shaken coffee, "what bring you two out on this fine day?" The one with no heartbeat spoke up first, saying something about distracting herself. I had half a mind to address her about her lack of pulse, but I knew better of that. The human, or what I was proposing was a human, Zanea, said she was just grabbing a morning coffee. "Oh, so was I," I said happily, "I'd been so thirsty when I woke up!" I swallowed back the venom that seeped up my throat, forcing it down along with my more primeval instincts. Right now was not the time...or the place. "Right," Esme said while shoving her hands in her pockets, "morning coffee." There was a moment of crowded silence in which I took the advantage to take in the scenery. "It's a lovely day," I sighed, "would any of you fancy a trip to the public museum? It's very nice, I hear. Though I haven't the chance to visit myself. I would be glad to share the experience with you two."
"Oh I would be delighted to join you." I took a quick glance at the girl Tally but turned my eyes forward again. I linked my arm with Zanea's and Tally's arm, ignoring Zanea's flinch at my cold touch.
We walked like that to the museum until the warmth of Zanea's skin and the feeling of her blood rushing under her skin made my fangs begin to some out and venom fill my mouth. I glanced at Tally and smiled to show her why. With a nod we all jogged up the stairs and into the building.
Running my tongue over my teeth I got my fangs to back. I took another sip of the blood. I felt my face contort as i covered my mouth to prevent myself from spitting it on the ground. The blood had turned cold and I couldn't spit it out but there was no way I was going to swallow it.
Opening the lid a crack I spit it back in and threw it in the trashcan.
I smiled as the two slices of toast popped up out of the toaster. Humming happily to myself, I grabbed the slices. I loved the smell of toast, I loved the smell of every food actually. I loved the feel of it too, in my hands, of course. The warmth that radiated off the toast was amazing and it looked even better than it felt. It almost made me want to eat it.
Still humming to myself, I dropped the two slices of toast onto a plate and began to butter them. I could hear the sound of the busy cafe behind me as I prepared the food. As I headed out of the kitchen, I sighed. No one really knew the true beauty of food. No one knew how amazing it really was, they just had it because they were hungry. That's why I didn't eat food, it was too pretty.
"There you go," I grinned, placing the plate on one of the tables.
"Thanks you, dear." The man smiled back.
Watching the man devour his food as I headed back into the kitchen, sadness swept over my body. Didn't anyone see the beauty in food? Why would you want to eat something so beautiful? Shaking the thought out of my head, I continued to work.
I worked in a cafe in a museum and I loved my job. It was the only place that I could really admire food. I'd tried applying for a job in the restaurant, but they didn't want me. I was too thin apparently, I wouldn't have looked good to the customers. Ah well, I thought cheerfully as I moved a strand of blonde hair from my face, They're the ones missing out.
Selene I walked up the steps of the musuem and was surprised to see a vampire shapeshifter, a human with a trace of elf,and a part elf, part mermaid, part demon, and part vampire walk up the steps past me. I walked up to them curiosity over ruling my caution and smiled at them. "Hello my name is Selene but I go by Sara is there any chance that I may be able to join you?" I asked politely. They looked at me as if they were analyzing me and I shifted slightly uncomfortable. I had no idea who these people were but right now my curiosity had the better of me which happened very rarely. I continued to smile at them playing with a strand of hair that had blown in front of my face. “Ok.” The vampire shapeshifter said cheerfully. “Thank you and your names are?” I asked. “I’m Talia call me Tally.” She said. “I’m Esmeralda call me Esme.” The mermaid said. “I’m Zanea.” The human said. “Nice to meet you all.” I said. We continued to walk up the steps and I heard my caution screaming at me but I ignored it. Bertram the Bumbling who else suddenly poofed out of nowhere and I groaned inwardly this dude annoyed me to no end. " I have found the chosen one his name is Shane Dane." He announced as if there were a huge crowd of people instead of just us four and like 3 other humans. I rolled my eyes knowing that the 'chosen one' if he was chosen by Bertram was liable to get himself killed by the first baddie that showed up.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
