Quian|Haunted Hallway:

I cringed, backing into the wall as Declan stood there, eyes closed. He was summoning something-that's all I could tell. I shuddered, feeling a ghost come too close to me. I leaned against the wall and watched the show.

The woman doctor, the one I didn't like, was standing in the middle of the courtyard, near the fountain. She looked scared and I didn't blame her. Declan even scared me sometimes.

"Declan," I hissed. "I think it's time to, like, leave the building..."

Declan didn't seem to hear me-he was muttering under his breathe. Something about Cerberus... Oh heck. I looked past him, out into the courtyard.

The Doc was standing there, watching Declan one moment then the fountain the next. I frowned. Was it just me or was it getting darker?

"Cerberus," Declan whispered and the air grew colder. Uh oh, I thought looking towards the fountain again. The courtyard was suddenly eerily silent.

((Okay!))

!~Sydney~

"That ba-" I was cut off as a cloud of darkness spread over the grounds. Fury over powered me. "I'm going to kill him." I muttered as David stopped. We had waded our way of the cloud of ghosts. I was weak but that wasn't going to stop me. With all the strength I had, I burst past Dr. Shario toward Declan. I wasn't going to let him get us all killed.

"Cebebrus..." The word floated around in the air.

I tackled Declan to the ground, struggling to keep him down.

"Too late now." He whispered, a grin on his face.

"Declan, you idiot! You are going to kill us all. These ghost are lying to you! Don't you understand! They are broken souls, and you aren't. They can control you. Don't do this to yourself. Your... Your powers aren't limited to the underworld. But you have to figure out that for yourself! Declan, listen to me. Stop this." I said, almost begging.

He broke free of my grasp. His figure blurred in front of me.

Declan l Courtyard

The moment was ruined by a certain stupid empath who tackled him to the ground and began ranting about how the ghosts would lie to him.

Lie to him? They'd never lie to him. Was she mad? He opened his mouth to set her straight when a black blur came and tackled *her* off him. Declan felt the rush of heat as Cerberus passed by.

He would have gotten up if his heart wasn't beating so fast. Cerberus? Wasn't Cerberus just a pup the last time he checked? He turned around at the gargantuan three-headed dog jealously guarding an unconscious Sydney, slobbering all over her.

"Cerberus," Declan greeted, somewhat uncertainly. Cerberus was half the size of the dorm buildings, and that was saying something.

The dog approached his master and for a moment Declan thought Cerberus would actually eat him. Then Cerberus bowed down, down low and wagged its tail. Declan blinked, and blinked, and blinked, until finally he erupted into hollow laughter.

See Sydney? There was a reason he was a necromancer. People from the underworld were the only ones he could trust.

An ear-splitting howl broke through the silence. Declan's eyes widened and he tried to calm Cerberus down by petting him, Declan tried but it wasn't enough. The once-docile Cerberus snapped at something near him, perhaps a fly, and Declan's hand grazed one of its teeth.

A wide wound, bleeding black poison, burning into Declan's system. Declan cried out in pain and collapsed to the floor. His vision blurred and refocused over and over again.

"Don't kill the dog - the boy dies if you kill it! This prisoner is a special case, understand? Move him to a solitary building, preferably a chapel. Put a goddamned priest with him if you have to - but don't kill him."

Electric charges, sparks shooting all around and Sydney screaming like she's in labor. Quian panicking and an all-out war around him. Bright lights coming from David and Dr. Shairo desperately trying to avoid Cerberus' swipes.

After that, nothing. Just...nothing.

Destiny:

An ear bleeding howl sounded and I stood up straight as a pin. Me and Fate exchanged a quick glance and bolted. The vibes in the air were dark. When we got outside there was a giant, and when I say giant I mean giant, dog with three heads. I nearly screamed. It was the dog that gaurded the underworld for Hades. Oh god. This was bad.

Tanika

I glared at the wall. I hated the stupid cell, I hated this stupid life. There was an outside world and I knew it for a fact. I felt like a lab rat. I was stuck here for my whole life. I needed out.

I wanted to make the ground shake as much as I could make it. So far my record was 4 on the Richer's scale....not bad. I made myself ditch the idea. It would only drain me...and make everybody mad. I wanted to see my brother. He could always make me smile.

GARRION

I fidgeted with my fingers, wondering what my poor sister was doing. We hated being seperated... This stupid cell was disgusting. Why couldn't I be with her?

I wanted to cry, but I held back. I was nearly a grown man. I couldn't let myself cry. "Let me out of this cell!" I bellowed. It wouldn't do me any good...at all; but how could I just sit here? I banged on the wall with my fists. Maybe, just maybe...

Ah sorry, I couldn't get on the computer before. Correct me if I get anything wrong, might have missed a few details.

Aladdin

My body snapped to and suddenly, the shackles that had been holding me dropped to the ground.

"Guardian Alpha, elimina-na-na-na. . . . . . ."

And then it was dark. Really? The system was down? My lips curled up into a grin that stretched my face. I had a week left in Solitary for what I had done to Declan five days ago, but opportunities like this came as rare as a normal person. Which is never.

Shaking myself free of the chains, I groped my way through the dark, turned the door into gold and melted the entire thing. The eeriness of the lack of lights in the usually over-lighted facility was accentuated by the presence of something supernatural. The dead, it seemed. This was all Declan's doing, wasn't it? Part of me felt something of jealousy--why hadn't I thought of some way to shut down the entire system?--but yet I could not help but applaud him.

Something stupid, like hope, began to take root in my mind. Escape was possible, through the fountain, of course. Spurred on by the stupidity, I began to run, as fast as could, to where I knew the courtyard was.

I realize that this post is a bit bizarre and makes a major plot turn, so if anyone has another idea (like zebra) about in which way the plot should turn, then please let me know! :D

Dr. Shairo | The Courtyard

"Declan! Stop this!" The spirits could hold no more of her than they were already. Dr. Shairo braced herself, grabbing the Zydrate staff from the ground and slamming it into the electronics of the fountain. A light flashed brilliantly, circulating in a belt-like motion around the bloody fountain. As the light sped up, the blood in the fountain turned black, collapsing in on itself in a cloud of murk.

A thunderous roar echoed throughout the courtyard, bouncing off the high walls and rumbling in the pit that once was the fountain. The belt of light condensed itself, fighting against the roaring beast below. There was little power remaining in the facility, but what Cerebrus had not stolen was being used to fight him and the other prisoners off.

The spirits had gathered in the air, circling in a cloud like a storm in hell. Their laughter and shrieks rained down like hail, assaulting the ears and soul with a brutal, chaotic force. Shairo trudged forward, stopping right in front of Declan. "You are. . . Freeing a beast. . . You know nothing. . . about. . ." Her voice was diminishing in the high octaves of the banshees overhead.

"Cerebrus feeds on souls!"

The other prisoners, all but Declan, gasped.

"He is a weapon!"

Declan sneered. "He is mine to control! I will not be killed off like every other nineteen year-old here!"

Shairo shook her head, almost pleading with him. "You cannot die, Declan!" He took on an almost arrogant smirk. "Cerebrus is the one who kills! He and you are connected by your damned souls!"

She tried to continue speaking, but it was nothing short of a demonic intervention that, in a split second, the ground beneath her broke apart into a dynamic eruption, pluming up into a lava flume. Her final sounds rang out in a shriek. But her soul had little distance to travel: her spirit floated out of her incinerated body like a rocket, flaring into the hellish cloud above.

David | The Courtyard (Haunted)

And up in flames she went. With the absence of something she was holding-- the staff, I assumed-- my powers suddenly grew. But their growth was short-lived.

I ran out behind Declan, grabbing him by the neck and pulling him back inside. He pushed me off, leaving his spirits to pin me back against the wall. My eyes glossed over in a shining red, power fluctuating through my palms and out into the walls. My energy was instantly exhausted, but there was a new rumbling competing with Cerebrus'.

The floor shook, debris falling from the ceiling. In my head, everything slowed down.

The fountain was gone; in its place stood a flaming, three-headed black dog that had to be nine feet tall. Blood dripped from its fangs, and fire fluxed in his eyes. The beast roared, shaking the ground and walls, which I noticed were beginning to fall. "We'd better get out of her," Sydney screamed, and she made a notice of dragging us all out against our will into the reign of the demons.

Cerebrus let out another earth-shaking roar, vanishing from sight. Declan, who fell back without Cerebrus' control. I instantly rushed to him, looking down at his flawless, unscathed body.

"He... He lost control, didn't he. . . ?"

"There's no way. . ."

"Cerebrus. . . "

". . . was what killed our friends. . . "

"But he's gone now. . . "

"Does that mean we're safe?"

I looked up at the mass of kids clamoring around me. If my energy wasn't gone, I would've smacked them back. "It means that everyone's in danger! Not just us. . . But everyone in its path." Curious with the new information, I got up from Declan's side, walking over to the pit that once was the fountain, peering down into the blackness below.

And there they were.

Hundreds of tennage bodies.

Skeletons.

Charred, destroyed bodies.

TANIKA

I couldn't take it anymore. If I had to spend another second inside this stupid cell I thought I would die. Okay, so I was overexagerating... But I couldn't help it. I needed out.

"Let me out of this stupid cell!" I screached. Nobody came to my aid. "Let me out of here!" I wasn't acting myself, but who would?

I clenched my fists. If they didn't let me out... "Tanika! Stop it! You'll just make it worse!" Garrion yelled.

I blinked. What cell was he in? "Garrion? What cell are you in?" I hollered.

No answer. I must have been going crazy. I started trembling. I couldn't hold back. I made the ground shake. I didn't know how high it got to, but I screamed and fell to the floor, exhausted. I leaned against the wall and waited.

GARRION

I could hear my sister screaching. If she didn't shut up she'd get into major trouble. The ground around me started to shake. Great. She had lost it, she had really, really lost it. I fell to the floor and tried to block it out.

"Somebody let her out of her cell already!" I shouted, clenching my hands into fists. If somebody didn't come soon she'd get herself destroyed.

The trembling stopped and I took a few deep breaths. That was a gooder...She'd be exhausted. No more screaming.

Destiny:

I felt all the blood run out from my face as I looked down at the bones of hundreds and hundreds of murdered teenagers. I covered my mouth and felt tears stream down my face. Fate placed a hand on my back and said "Think about the present, not the past. There's nothing we can do for them now."

I wiped my eyes after several breaths I muttered "I'm fine." Fate smirked and said "Come on, you know I hate seeing you down." The next thing I knew I was flailing and dancing all over the courtyard with people staring at me "Fate!" Immediately I pressed my thoughts into his head and he stopped.

Fate:

I folded my hands and said "God rest their souls."

I looked away, closing my eyes. I already knew what was down there. I felt no need to look. "For every copper coin theres a body waiting to be found." I muttered. Walking away, I felt somebody grab my hand.

"Sydney?" David's voice chimed. I pulled my hand away from him and kept walking.

"How long have you known?" David said, stopping me in my tracks. I turned to face him, tears in my eyes.

"I can feel death, David. I've always known." My voice cracked. I smashed my palm into the wall. "We need to get out of here. Now." I looked into his eyes, "Do you trust me?" David nodded. "Theres an exit. I've always known about it, but I was always to scared to go down there."

"Where?" David whispered.

"Beneath the bodies. There's a trap door, it leads through the mountains, away from here. Some of those people could have escaped. They stuck them down there, let them starve. On the 1st of every month, they send flames to burn the dead and kill those still living. Few knew about the door. I could feel their hope. Thats how I know." I slid down the wall, buring my head in my hands.

"Fate, Let go of me." I growled quietly. He held on. I grabbed his wrist and twisted it, until he let go. He glared at me and started to speak but I cut him off.

"I couldn't tell anyone." I said, lowering my voice. "I couldn't go down there."

"Why?" David said.

"My father's body is down there." I said, tears flowing freely from my eyes.

David knelt beside me, "What?"

"He came here. He found me. He tried to break in and they threw him down there. That's why I heard about it. The scientists couldn't help but talk about it." I shivered, "I felt him die."

I looked up into Fate's eyes, "They will be here soon. We have to get out of here. They will kill us all. We have to go down there..." My voice trailed off.

Aladdin

And what a sight it was to see, when I finally found my way into the open. The others, gathered around in a silence weighing a thousand years. Where the fountain had once been, only a charred hole was left, and thinking of what I had once heard Sydney say, I did not think I wanted to look down.

I pushed my way to the front of the crowd, slipping in between the cracks. The twins, Fate and Destiny stood in my way and I shoved them apart. Destiny, her face paled, did not even look down, and Fate on the other side was too busy glaring at Sydney.

Then she said it. "We have to go down there..."

Into the hell pit? I didn't think so. Not with those bodies there. Unless...

I knelt down and touched, gingerly, the side of the pit and felt a shiver run down my back. Gold dust traced itself down the wall and landed on a gaping half-disintegrated face, turning the remnants of the body into solid gold.

I raised an eyebrow at the group. "If you don't mind."
