Chapter Two
Adam claimed the wheel of the boat before everyone could even get on. Mike chucked a life vest at me and said "Your up Cara." I shed my shorts and tank top, revealing my red bikini with white polka dots. One of them let out a low whistle. I let out a small giggle and slid the vest on. I jumped off the boat and submerged into the chilly water. I slicked my hair back and Tyler tossed me my black wakeboard with a rainbow shine to it.
I got on and grabbed hole of the rope. "Ready?" Tyler called. He was spotting me. I gave him a thumbs-up and the boat started. It had been a while since I'd been on but I attempted a back flip. When I landed that I told Tyler to go faster. He turned to tell them to speed up. As the boat went faster I could feel the wind increase.
I did a back roll and made that too. I stuck the landing of a Toe-side Front-side. This was to easy. I again urged Tyler to go faster. He shook his head. I put my thumbs up as a yes. With a frown he told Adam to go faster. Attempting a Wrapped KGB I spun in the air. My heart stopped when I imagined myself doing a face plant but I averted my mind. When i stuck the landing everyone shouted out "Whoooo!"'s and "Go Cara!"'s. The boat gradually slowed but they were still cheering.
Tyler helped me out of the water and we did our handshake. After the spit handshake Mike wrapped me in a warm hug "Yeah Cara!" He shouted. He didn't seem to care that I was getting him wet which made me smile. He released me and put the vest on himself "Step aside armatures. It's my turn." Adam stood up, a few inches taller. Hitting his chest he said "Let's see what you got little brotha." Mike hit his own chest and said "Bring it brotha."
With that he hopped into the water. Adam spotted while Josh drove. I took a seat across from Tyler and he said "How plan ala' Mike going?" I rolled my eyes and punched his shoulder "You know very well how it's going." His eyes widened in false innocence and he said "What? Is it good? Is it failing miserably? Will he be your boyfriend in two days. Oh my gawd!" He said the last part high pitched and flailing his arms like a girl would do.
I punched him again and he punched me back that time "Don't hate me my friend." He said in a funny accent "Or I might have to fight you." He added. Smirking I hit my chest just like the guys do "Any time any place." He stood up even though the boat was moving "Right here right now." I stood up even though the wind kept trying to force me down again. "Oh yeah. Let's go." I threw some fake punched and when he threw some I dodged them.
Mike's turn ended so the boat started to come to a stop. Tyler and me still were punching and dodging by the time Mike was back on the boat. He pulled on a dry shirt and shorts and came up and said "Seriously guys, you didn't see any of that?" I brought my foot up but instead of fake kicking him I placed my foot on his chest and forced him into the seat. "Oh you're asking for it." The next thing I knew he was tackling me "No fair!" I screeched "You play football!" His arms were wrapped my body, pinning my arms to my sides.
"Say it." He taunted. "No!" I tried to wriggle free but the more I did the tighter he held "Say it," he got closer to the sdge but before I could do anything to stop it he swung me off my feet and hung me over the water "Say it or I'm dropping you in." he threatened teasingly. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, which must have looked weird hanging over the edge of a boat with big hands holding you by your sides but I didn't care.
"I'm not afraid of water." I said back. He chuckled "Oh yeah, look what's in it." I looked down. That slimy green stuff was all over that side of the boat. I shrieked despite the satisfaction it must have given him. I thrashed and kicked shouting "Michael Jonathan Malone don't you dare!" He pretended to drop me but caught me at last second. "Michael!" Tyler's deep voice shouted "Put her down." Mike chuckled and lowered me a little "Put her down?" "Put her back in the boat." He barked.
With a sigh he pulled me back in and set me on the ground. Then with a smirk he quickly scooped up the green stuff and brought it dangerously close to me. I let out a shriek and ran to the other side of the boat so I could dive in. Right before I was able to jump Mike grabbed the ties of my top which weren't double knotted. I tried stopping but I slipped off the edge. I immediately covered my chest when I saw that Mike was holding my top "Michael!" I shouted.
"That's it." Josh got up and punched Mike right across the face "Give it back to her before I kill you man!" Mike had a look of brief panic cross his face but he covered it "I didn't think she'd jump man!" He placed a hand on his jaw and said "That really hurt." Josh punched him again but this time Mike punched back all while I was treading water with only my feet without a top. Adam and Tyler tried to pull the off of each other so they couldn't help me either.
"Hey!" I said. When none of them responded I let out a blood curdling scream and they all froze and looked over at me. I cleared my throat. What they don't tell you in books or movie is that it hurts your throat really bad to do that "Shirt please." I said demandingly. Tyler bent down and picked up my top. He tossed it carefully but I didn't catch it because I didn't want to uncover myself. Tyler must have realized this because he picked up his orange towel and held it in front of their faces.
I looked around to make sure no one else was around and quickly grabbed it and put it on. I fumbled with the ties until finally I got them double knotted. "Decent." I said as I swam over to the boat. Mike put out a hand "Sorry Cara. I seriously didn't think you'd jump in." Yeah well," I yanked him in clothes and all. He came up wide eyed as everyone laughed obnoxiously. I accepted Tyler's hand and let him pull me up.
----That Night----
I walked next door for the party the Malone boys always throw during the summer on Fridays. I was dressed in the same outfit as earlier since I didn't have that many. Pushing open the heavy door I said hello to a few people and ventured upstairs to Tyler's room. I flung it open without looking up from his computer screen he said "Just a second. I'm almost done." After a few clicks he looked up with a happy grin. I gasped and said "Tyler! What happened to your eye?" He touched the purpling ring under his eye and said "I may have gotten punched when I tried to pull Josh off of Mike. It's no big deal."
With a chuckle he said "You should see Mike. He's got a black eye and he's got red marks along his jaw." I shook my head "Your parents freak out?" He shook his head as he stood up and stretched his long arms "No, we told them that Mike slipped out of the boat and when I tried to catch him I hit my eye." With a sigh I said "You guys are such freaks." He rose his eyebrows "And yet you want to go out with Mike."
