CHAPTER 3
A Bright Light
YEAR 009X
It was perhaps five minutes before Alucard awoke. His head was still aching from when he fell down the stairs. He opened his eyes slowly, shifting his pupils from side to side. There was a dim light and he found himself laying on an old torn up green couch. It took him awhile to remember what had happened. He couldn't feel it but he heard the fiddling of someone tampering with some metal. Wait, metal? The only thing he knew that was metal was his arm and his tail. Edward peered at his left arm which was laying right beside him. He shifted his eyes over behind him where he find an odd figure gnawing at his metallic tail.
"huh? wha... what are you doing?!" he shouted still half dazed.
Edward swung his tail from side to side and the creature let go.
Losing his balance he fell off the couch and rolled over onto his stomach where he stood up.
"who are you?" he asked.
"My name is 64" the figure replied.
Alucard scowled at the creature but softened his gaze as he remembered his own form was just as weird. The one called 64 resembled Alucard incredibly but there were some major differences. 64 was of a creamy white color, his fur looked rough and harsh from the elements. Plus, his tail was long and serpent like with long green flowing hair protruding out the top part of the tail and all along until the tip. It hung down and dragged along the floor. His face was like a canine but he he had two large fangs that stuck out from his lips and more green hair on his head, it was like a horses mane was glued onto him except longer and thinner. His back was covered in a bendy metallic like subtance that was apparently stitched on. It just looked like a flat sheet of metal.
"that's a weird name" Alucard replied dully.
"Oh yeah? and makes you have the right to judge so quickly" 64 snapped back.
"Well your the one who shot bullets at me carelessly" Alucard scowled.
There was a long pause between the two of them. The room they were in was dimly lit and most corners of the room were dark and at times rather creepy. There were surgical tools laying around the room and a large table where it seemed the patients had sat on.
"I didn't think I'd beable to find anyone else here" 64 mentioned.
"neither did I, but I have found myself rather confused about this whole incident" Alucard replied.
"huh, you really don't know anything do you?" 64 began to explain the situation that was at hand.
Alucard also explained that he had been apart of the military working under his father as a sortof trainee if you would call it like that. But since he was only fourteen at the time he didn't get information about anything at all and was simply thrown into the darkness. But it has been two years since that and he didn't want the fact that his whole family was demolished to slow him down any. 64 couldn't help but to mention that the military or someone inside of it was up to no good but deep down they both knew that the military was planning something big. Just figuring out what it was supposed to be and whether or not it failed was the problem.
"By the way... how were you able to shoot at me anyways? I mean, it's not like you can hold a gun or anything" Alucard asked curiously.
64 smiled and the sheet of metal stuck on his back that seemingly appeared to look utterly useless began to open up in the middle like a pair of doors. What came out of it though was a totally different story. A pair of fairly large folded up guns appeared. They unfolded themselves and revealed to be even larger. They were silver colored and long and honestly, they looked to be alittle scary. Alucard was alittle speechless and couldn't help but to be abit jealous.
"you like 'em?" 64 said petting them from the side.
"wow, your like a cyborg" Alucard laughed.
64 frowned, "yeah well apparently I was created as a weapon more than anything else"
"Weren't we all created to be ideal weapons for the military?" Alucard couldn't help but think that there were others who were used for something other than weaponry.
"well yeah" 64 explained "looking at you, you must have a different purpous all together"
64 examined Alucard's mechanical limbs. "When you were asleep I took alook at your fake arm and tail" 64 paused for a second "It looks like your tail has a varying number of tools inside. Probably for maintence work"
"So, I can fix things?" Alucard looked at his tail curiously.
"yeah pretty much, but your arm I just can't figure out. I have no idea what it's used for. Perhaps you lost your arm and they just put on an extra limb on for you" 64 looked up the stairway. "maybe we can go find out" he pointed to the door.
"yes, let's" Alucard starting to make his way up the stairs.
Unfortunatly the stairway was just as slippery as it was before and at the very top Alucard lost his footing again. He sure wasn't up for falling to the bottom again and he put out his mechanical arm so he could have a softer landing. But as he put out his arm a dim light appeared and grew brighter and brighter. What was going on?
