Random art by me!!

Yup. Random drawing of one of the characters from one of my stories. Care to review? I've never had any art training whatsoever, so... yeah.

Cool, this one looks like one of those characters you will see in the illustrations of Neil Gaiman's book, or in a creepy children's story book... I love it! Especially the eyes, which seem blank, and the hair, even though it's stiff, as well as the placement of the limbs and the shading (ohmigosh)... it just has this really ominous overall effect, you know? Were you going for that? Because it worked. If you were not going for that sort of effect, well... it just seems that way for me, no offense meant. Just good humour. So there. I definitely like this!

And thanks Atticus, yes, she most definitely is a phsycho-maniac. Her eyes are blank cuz that's what happens when she uses her powers.

Well, since it was what you were going for it is excellent! I especially liked the shading around the face!! The shoes aren't too bad either. I say that 'cause I cannot draw shoes or feet no matter how hard I try! But back to the shading in the face. It's really quite realistic, and it sort of contrasts with the rest of the picture. Usually something like that doesn't work, but you must be magical or something because in this picture it totally did!

Thanks a bunch!Yeah, face shading is the one type that I'm actually good at. When I try to shade, say, a plant, it appears to be growing mold the gets darker at the edge.

Very spooky, I like it! I can already tell what the personality of your character is like.

A good tip I got once is to not make the clothing look like a tattoo, yours doesn't really, but it is a little tight looking. But that may be how you want it.

The shading is, as others have said, very nice. But I can see three things that are keeping this from looking realistic, for me, anyway. Note, I'm very blunt which can sound rude, so please don't take things the wrong way.

1.) Her arms are too long. Put at your sides, your hands should reach halfway down your thigh. Put at her sides, her hands would reach past her knees.

2.) Her legs are very short, along with her torso. Now, I've seen short people and people with short legs, but I've never personally seen legs that short or a head that big in comparison. If a person is usually about seven heads long, with the head being one and the torso and legs being around three each, she's two heads too short. She needs another head of length in both her torso and legs.

3.) Her hands are too small. My art teacher told me, after seeing that I drew hands about your size, is that hands are actually as big as your face. My teacher had a normal sized head and her hands were daintier than mine. I have a monstrous, ginormous head, and my hands are ginormous. Of course, bigger hands wouldn't look right here unless her arms were shorter because that would look like grapes on toothpicks, but the hands are, realistically, too small. Note, I still draw hands half the size of my person's head. I go through erasers very quickly.


Your proportions need a little work, but you've got face shading down, and that's most people's worst nightmare. Overall, I think that the face is great, you just need to make sure everything else is big enough.

Okay, sorry here, Dreamy115, but I din't like this at all. Even my six year old sister makes better than this. But then she's a born artist. So here is how you can improve:
Firstly the face of the girl is very gothic and eerie which i like very much. The shading in her hair and face is too good. But the problem lies in her body shape which is just like a kid makes. So if your character's personality allows then you should make this girl wear a Victorian gown if you can't make her legs properly. Making a gown saves you from the tension of keeping the legs proportionate to the body. That's what I do mostly.
And if you want to continue with her wearing pants then don't make the gap between two legs so much. Reduce it a bit.
Also please, make her arms a bit better. If she's a ghost then also it can be made better by cutting out a literal A shape out of them. One way is to make her hand straight or make them upto her shoulde height as if she's gonna come and kill someone.
