Her character walked in and she said that there was a deaf person and another guy there there; Roisin and Dolan.

That just says that they are there. It doesn't say how they got there.

Mute people can laugh, can't they?
My friend's deaf and she laughs. Mind you, she's only deaf in one ear.

I think mute people can laugh, it's the same as sneezing, coughing e.t.c It's a natural response of the body, so I assume they can.

Some mutes can't laugh.
However, the reason she can't talk is that she can't hear to learn, not that she has a defect with her vocal cords, such as having her throat cut and surviving. And I don't think you need to learn how to laugh.

For the sake of everything...she can laugh. Okay, discussion ended on that!
