a tapestry of textures

Hey everybody. I figured I might as well show off my art along with my writing, so here I am. I'm thinking of slowly putting all of my artwork on this thread, so I don't spam the forum. The attached picture, and probably all those that will follow at a later date, are drawn via graphic tablet and Photoshop.



This one took ~45mn, lots of filters and a bit of boredom. Any critique/comments muchly appreciated.

WOW! I LOVE THIS! I am not an artist, so I don't have tips, but just to keep doing art. This is amazing, I love the colors and everything about it! Great job!

Wow, this is really awesome. My only complaint is that something about the cat's tail bugs me, but I don't care that much because this is so cool. The colors are awesome and the black just makes it so dramatic. I love the bird in the sky too; this picture overall is just really awesome.

I'm very impressed by the colors. The red and green - a combination people usually stray away from - you've used wonderfully. The added yellow just creates a moonlight feeling. I agree with Story, and I didn't really notice until I read that review, the tail of the cat is a bit off. My cats love to watch birds outside of out steel screen door and this reminds me a lot of that. Nice work. I hope to see more on this thread!

Just like StoryWeaver13 said, the tail bugs me as well, it seems a little misplaced, a bit to high?

Holy Moly! That second picture that you posted is amazing! And you say you drew it?! Wow, that's really cool! That first one almost looks like a picture of an eye that's reflecting a scene or something. Both are really dramatic. Awesome work.

nova: Haha, thanks. I'd never noticed the FMA resemblance, it's a nice coincidence. (I've never gotten to watching the anime, but I adore the manga).

My schedule is kind of hectic (and by 'hectic' I mean 'hellish'), but if there's anything you'd like to see, I can certainly at least give it a try. It just might take a while, or end up looking like crap :/

While I'm at it: my somewhat sad attempts at drawing a human. 'Twas an exercise at proper anatomy, as well as a try to get a proper reference for one of the characters I'm tinkering with for this year's NaNoWriMo. Mostly I was focusing on the face and body shape, thus why the coloring is so sketchy and why I didn't go any further after the upper body.
(Also, his left hand? I gave up. Hands are hard.)

This is an old one. Yes, it's supposed to be the sea. No, I don't know what I was thinking at the time. Technically based on Peter Gabriel's "Mercy Street", specifically the line
"Let's take the boat out / Wait until darkness comes."

...BUT, it looks like that castle that shot that green light out of the top in Lord Of The Rings?



As usual, Jagged, this absoloutly amazing, also, seeing as turquoise is my favourite colour...
