Hi! This is quite nice, I like her face. However, her nose seems a little odd - more like two points than two nostrils from what I can see. Also, she seems to be leaning to the left just a little. I'd love to see this with colour - something really vibrant, perhaps. She's quite pretty, too.
Matt.

Hey Mystical!

Image

Black- My problem lies just with the eyes, but I circled the whole face so you could see how they look in proportion with everything else. The eyes are too big and out of proportion with the rest of her face. Her eyebrows look dwarfed in comparison to how huge those eyes are. Besides, they're going to the corners of her temples at it just doesn't look right.
Blue- I don't like that can't see this chick's feet. It just makes the drawing feel incomplete, and it makes you look lazy because I can tell you didn't plan stuff like the proportions out to make sure you wouldn't have this problem.
Red- So, what is this supposed to be? The fringe of the shirt? I'll tell you that it was one of the first things that caught my eye in the picture; It's distracting and comes across as a series of random squiggly lines this drawing would be better without.
Yellow- Don't think I can't see that. You should be more careful when you're scanning in/photographing your pictures. If you don't catch things like these at first, you can easily crop them out. You may think it's just little, but it's distracting, and it's little things like that that can ruin a picture.

Happy drawing, and PM me if you have questions.

Elinor: I believe the part in red is the bottom of the bow on her back...

no it's not part of the bow, it's just a bit of her belt, and yeah i know it looks like she's scratching her butt. that's because i can't draw hands so i hid it. :P and she's tilted to the left because i am left handed... :? anyway, i need some requests for drawings... It'd help a lot. :D

(i don't really like that drawing at all...)

Edit: I've done another drawing. :)

I like the detail in the drawings, and it looks like you didn't just do a quick scribble, you spent alot of time on this. The shaping of the tribal girl could be improved, but other than that it's fine!
In the avatar drawing, some of the lines are a bit too faint, I like the top of his head, it really looks 3-D ish.

A dog! I took this a while back and have been dying to post it somewhere. I just couldn't find it... anyway, this random dog just appeared by my feet and i took a quick photo of it. If you're the owner... um... well sorry. :) It's cute though. :D

Hallo again Mystical!

With the first one, I think there are all over some proportion issues - particularly the hands and eyes. It's hard for me to describe proportions so here are some tuts that I think are really helpful.
For general proportions.
More detailed face proportions.
Hopefully they should help you out. :D

The second pic is awesome! The detail, proportions and expressions are all great!
You are very very good at detail in both pics, which I love. Can't wait to see the coloured pic!

I can't help but notice you produce much better pictures with references... If you want to draw more from your imagination, why not still reference photos/pictures in magazines for proportion help?
[You should see my reference book; it's HUGE.] But that way you can choose face angles, expressions and clothing and still produce something original that looks awesome.
Referencing images is definately the best way to improve; all of your drawings get better each time! :D

Yep, i pretty much can't draw without something to copy from... I'm taking art for my GCSE exams so that'll help me improve.

Hey Mystical!

I'm going to comment on the photo you've posted.
And a little note for you. In the title of this thread, it should be 'photos' without an apostrophe. :)

First thing I notice is the shadow and you don't want that, right? Since the focus is the dog, you'll need to go for better angles. A lower one, from the right side would've been better. From this height, his eyes (which should be an important feature) looks dull and droopy.
Lighting: There's too much light from the right. So once again, you'll need to position according to the lighting.
His rear is a little too out of focus which distracts me as well.

Other than that, you do have an eye for photography. Keep clicking!
