Hello there~ I'm a new member, as you can see, but I am quite familiar with the site already, as I've spent some time exploring it as a visitor. After a few days of coming back, I decided to create an account. I really hope to have fun here. You can call me Winter. I am mostly interested in Japanese pop cultures and children's literature. I do love to draw, write, and sing. I've written a lot, but I am not too experienced in creative writing. I'm still an amateur working out the kinks.

...I am in love with Johnny Depp.

Also, I like the rain, getting drenched in the rain, white chocolate, Japanese food and animation... in short, I am practically obsessed with everything Japanese. XD I am also a very eccentric person. :P

I guess that pretty much sums me up. I hope we get along. :smt051

Hi Winter - I'm Navita, and I'm new too, but since I joined about a week ago, I guess I'm a little 'older' than you. Good to see you know your way around from prior exploration, and that you've decided to join at last. That simple honesty is very refreshing - 'working out the kinks' - and YWS has helped me work them out much faster in the past few days than I could imagine!

Writing heaps is good - and you'll get better at it the more you write! Anyway, if you have any creative writing - poem or short story - relates issues, feel free to PM me, okay? :)

Eccentric is everyone's second middle name here, and I also love walking in thunderstorms, and Johnny Depp.....***stares off into space*** But I'm a dark chocolate girl.

Hello, Navita! I'll be sure to PM you if I have anything to ask, and I'll be sure to review one of your works someday soon, too. :) I really do hope YWS can help me improve with my writing - it's been fun staying here, so far. I think I'm really going to like it here. :D

Writing heaps is fun, yes it is. ;)

And Johnny Depp is so awesome. I'm glad I've got someone to share him with. XD

Dark chocolate is fine, too! :D But yeah. I like white chocolate a bit better, teehee.

Hey there! Welcome to YWS. I'm Amy, it's nice to meet you. *high fives*

It's great you've already explored the site! I know it can be pretty confusing, so getting to grips with it is a good idea. There have been some great new changes recently, so you've joined YWS at a very good time. :)

Don't worry about being an amateur. Everyone here is, really. YWS is here to help you sort out the kinks!

If you like to draw, we also have a place where you can get feedback and crit on your artwork and photography.

In all honesty, I think there are a lot of girls who like Johnny Depp. xD He's pretty cool, I must admit.

So, are you ready for a few questions?

- If you were put on a desert island, what three items would you take with you, and what would you eat/drink?
- Any favourite authors/books?
- Favourite animal?
- Spots or stripes?
- Do you have a favourite punctuation mark? If so, what and why?
- Did you celebrate Easter? If so, did you get a lot of chocolate? :D

Hmm, I have to disagree with you on the white chocolate front. It's my least favourite. XD

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful time here at YWS! If you need a review on anything then feel free to ask me. Also, if you have any other questions or need some help then the same goes - just send me a PM!

See you around!

-Amy

Hi there, Amy! And thanks for that super warm welcome! :D

Johhny Depp, I know. Isn't he just dreamy? XD

Okay, these are some pretty tough questions, hmm...

1) Stuck on a dessert island, I would bring a survival kit, a knife or a lasso for hunting, and, if possible, a gallon of water. XD I would eat whatever I could find edible. I can also eat fern, if there is some. Fern is edible, and it can be cooked and seasoned like a real vegetable according to your tastes. Exotic, hmm? :P I would drink from a cactus, if left with no other choice.
2)I have no particular favorite, but I find that I like Stephen King and Neil Gaiman, and I fancy the works of Hans Christian Andersen. :)
3) I would go with the polar bear, the cat or the shark. Reason? They are sooo cool. XD
4) Spotstripes. 8D
5) The semi-colon, the dash, and the good old period. :) Reason: I like the first two for effect, and the period... well, you can't really survive without the period. The period is golden.
6) I wasn't able to celebrate. :( But still, I got a lot of chocolates from my pa. :D Ah, dear pa. How you spoil me so. XD

I got no white chocolate, though. And I agree, a lot of people doesn't really favor white chocolate over the good old traditional dark chocolate. I just happen to like the milky taste better. XD Anyway, chocolate, no matter what kind, is AWESOME. 8D Gotta love me some chocolate. ;)

So there, I've answered them! That was fun! ;)

Can I just say that those were some very sensible answers for the desert island question. Thumbs up, there! (I once asked someone that, and they said they'd drink moonlight, so it looks like you have a good chance of surviving, eh?)

I love Hans Christian Anderson! The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid ... :D

Polar Bear and shark, yes. Cats? No. They're all ... scratchy. *has had bad experiences*

And, yes, semi-colon! I tend to splurge them myself; a tendency I should really stop. ;)

Anyway, nice to see your answers!

Hey Winter! Welcome to YWS. I'm Sealegs (as you can tell). Are you interested in writing children's lit? And do you mean young children or young adult? Either way is great! The more you read, the better you will get at writing. You'll know what's working and what isn't! So read read read! (As I'm sure you do.) Anyways, I'm a college student double majoring in creative writing and theatre (acting). I write short fiction and poetry but recently only poetry. I travel a TON because I don't like staying in one place for too long. If you have any questions about your writing or just want to chat about...life....feel free to PM me!

Happy trails!

Hi Sealegs! I'm interested in writing for both children and young adults. Depends on my mood, really. XD When it comes to writing, I'm pretty spontaneous. :)

I'll make sure to read read read a ton! :D I'm currently trying to apply new techniques from various authors into my writing to see what works for me. I'm interested in philosophy, too, by the way. ;) It's good exercise for the brain.

I'm still in high school, and I'm deciding whether I'll take up journalism, accountancy or linguistics. My parents are totally against the fine arts, but they try to squeeze into my options nursing (as my mom is a nurse) and engineering (as my dad is an engineer). Anyways, it's a pretty tough life that I have... but still, it's okay. XD

Major in acting, wow, that's nice! Creative writing is very promising, too. I write fanfictions, too! :D I write some poetry, but I'm not as practiced as most are here in YWS. I stay at home a lot, but I do wish I could also travel a ton, see the world for once in a while. But I do sneak out whenever I get the chance. XD

I'll be sure to PM you if I need anything else! ;)

@AquaMarine - I'm glad I made sense! XD And anyway, how can you drink moonlight? :) Interesting! I think I'll write about something like that!

Hans Christian, oh yeah! XD My favorite is the one with the soldier, and the dogs... I forgot the title, hehe.

Yup, I know about cats. They take some time to warm up to, but after that, they're pretty cuddly and easy to pet... without the scratching. XD *had also had some bad experiences, had been bitten, scratched, and pooped upon...*

Semi-colon splurge = addicting. No more words can describe it more than that. XD

Nice to see your reactions, too! ;) XD

Woah. Are we the same person? I'm pretty sure we must be related, you have the exact same interests and likes that I do!

Welcome to YWS.

I'm glad to see there's another Johnny Depp- obsessed, japanese eating, rain soaked person out there!

By the way, catus juice tends to be delicious.
Honey, you should see me in a crown.

Hey Winter, welcome to YWS. You love Johnny Deep! Me too, I have almost all the movies he's been in, my fave being Pirates of the Caribbean. You also love Japanese food and anime, me too. How weird is that? We should start a Johnny Deep/ sushi/ anime group.
Anyways nice too meet ya.

Nice to meet you too, curiousvampire! :D

Ohyeah. Totally agree. We should start an incorporated group or something, seeing that a lot of us here have much in common regarding Johhny Depp, sushi and anime. XD

I love Jack Sparrow. ...Well, who doesn't?
