Kumo, 1:08PM

Kumo watched students dive left and right in front of Pez's feet, searching for one particular blur among the rest of them. The soft feathers was soothing against Kumo's left hand, but her chest was still tight and she felt panick rise in her chest. It made her angry and twitchy, and Pez's head tossed in irratation from his owner's mood.
"I'm sorry, boy."
Kumo's eyes went wide as the exact blur she was looking for was now strolling towards her, relaxed if looking a little perplexed. With some effort Kumo pulled Pez up, and Pez 'kweh'ed in protest.
"You! Red haired boy!"
Her roomate looked up, his eyebrows high. "I have a name, you know. It's bart, if you give a damn."
Kumo dismounted from her chocobo, her hands gripped tight around the hilt of her sword. It took all of her effort to not just force Bart into a corner and force him to hand over her heirlooms, but his confident, if confused manner made her pause.
"You aren't supposed to be riding here, you know. Our familiar classes haven't even started yet."
Kumo scowled. "Just give me my materia."
Bart looked confused. "Your materia?"
"I don't have time for your games! They are precious and powerful! Give them back!"
"Them? Look, lady, I think you've lost it. I have one and it's mine."
Kumo's voice went cold. "You lost one?"
"No, I only own one."
Students stopped to stare, and a ring of juniors and seniors alike were peering curiously at the confrontation. This made kumo edgy, she was not used to being observed, or having her exit blocked. She started to raise her sword from her shoulder, her eyes narrowing.
"Bart, it is important that you give them to me now, because-"
"What's going on here?"
The students turned, and whispers rung around the students. Mr Kent appeared, his face set in a frown.
"Kumo Strife! You are not to threaten other students, nor chase them around on your familiar."
Kumo's stomach dropped. If she got in too much trouble, and got kicked out, she didn't know where she would go.
"All of you, go find something better to do." Mr kent dispersed the crowd, but Kumo didn't bother trying to make a run for it.
"And," Bart started, "she's trying to take my things."
"But sir, it's mine. And he lost my other one. He came into my- our- room, and took two of my materia. You know they are mine, I registered them on the form."
"Bart? What do you have to say for yourself?"
"But..." Bart looked confused. "It's mine..."
"Let me see."
Bart shoved his hand in his pocket, and Kumo's heart leaped to her throat as she saw her materia. It was the fire one, the less powerful one of the two, but it was better than nothing.
Mr kent frowned. "Bart, you know this isn't yours. I have your equipment list in my office, and you do not own materia from Kumo's world."
Bart's face stiffened, and then he looked confused. "Oh... oh. I guess I'm in trouble, then."
"Give it back, Bart."
Kumo reached out for the materia, and smiled with relief as she felt its wieght in her palm. "Where's the other one?"
"I don't know...I think... a guy told me it's his."
"Hrmm. Well, Kumo, we will get this sorted. In the meantime, if I see you threatening a student of mine again you will be sent to anti villianary class. And if you're going to misuse your familiar, I will only let you see him in class, and ban you from the stables."
Kumo's mouth went dry, and her hand went to Pez's soft feathers. "Yes, sir."
"Get away with you, take Pez back to the stables. I want no more trouble from you."
Kumo scrurried away, leading Pez with her, leaving Mr Kent with Bart. Her heart was pounding and she was still angry. Where was her other materia?
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

Caroline. 1:13 p.m.

Caroline opened the door, looking at the piece of paper in her hand. "Yep, A3," she said to herself. She opened the door to see a girl already lying on one of the beds. "Oh," Caroline said. "Hi."

The girl started a little, and then sat up. "Hi there! I'm Jaunie. Call me J, though. Much easier."

"Sure," Caroline said.

"What's your name?" the girl asked her.

Caroline froze. "Oh. How rude of me. My name's Caroline."

Jaunie laughed. "Caroline's such an awkward name. How about I just call you Carol?"

Caroline froze. "I'm not really one for nick-"

"Oh, don't be silly. We're roommates now. We could be good friends, you know. What are your powers?"

"One of my ancestors could control the weather. She could fly, cause hurricanes, meteor showers. I'm here to become my powerful, so I can take back my - so I can help my tribe."

"Wow." Jaunie lay back on her bed.

"Don't you want the window bed?"

"I'm not really too worried about it. You can have it if you want it."

"Thanks." Caroline took her bag and placed it on her bed. Just as she opened it, she heard yelling the distance and cocked her head to the side. "You hear that?"

"What?" Jaunie asked.

"Never mind. I'm going to go for a walk. Stretch my legs. Talk to you later."

"Okay. Have a nice walk, Carol."

Caroline cringed at the use of the nickname, and left the room, closing the door behind her.

Caroline heard loud footsteps from nearby and looked around. She saw a girl stomping across the grounds, a scowl on her face. With her was a giant chicken. Caroline paused. She'd never seen anything like the creature the girl was loading. Against her better judgment, she walked towards the girl.

"Your chicken is intriguing."

Kumo spun around and glared at her. "What?"

"Your chicken. I've never seen anything like it."

The girl took a deep breath. "It's a chocobo. Not a chicken. And it's my familiar. Can you excuse me? I've got to take it back to the stables."

"I may as well walk with you. Your anger is also interesting. It makes me curious. My name's Caroline, by the way. Not Carol. My name is Caroline.

Caroline received a strange look. The girl shook her head, and continued walking. "Kumo."

Bart-O Week 1:17 pm

What the heck was wrong with my head? Who was that kid....he somehow...I don;t know what he did, but it was freaky. Something scratched against my leg, and I took Bolt from my pocket, the Little lizard let out an electric burp, and ran up my arm, and sat on my head. He liked it up there, where he could eat sparks. I had to find that kid...but first I needed to remember him...its like he erased my memory a bit too. If anyone was going to take that Materia-or whatever, it would be me.

Bart dove into my hair, sensing I was about to take off, and tapped happily on my head. My first stop was the cafeteria, where I think I had been during the incident. When I got there all I saw was a weird blue thing, with a girl.

"Hey, have you two se-well a guy, I don;t know what he looks like, bu-well have you seen-aw never mind," I said, the girl seemed to just stare, but the blue thingy seemed to understand.

"Um..." he looked down. The girl seemed to be able to piece my words together and looked at me. "Yes we have seen a few people, can you give us a descript-" They didn't know anything, so I took off.

Then I got an idea, I stopped sort and grabbed Bolt out of my hair. "Bolt, I need to to find the dude with the other orb for me, like now."

The lizard just stared at me...stupid thing it was, but I still had hope. I sighed, and put the lizard down, and then he choose to act. He took off faster than I could go in toward the dorms.

Samantha 1:18 PM

Samantha sighed and set her bag down on the bed in her room. She didn't get it. Just because she was a little different she was sent to this stupid academy. She'd been perfectly happy with her old school. But here she didn't know where anything was or what to do. I mean, sure I almost drowned because of it, but that doesn't mean I have to go to some random academy to make it stronger.

She sighed as her stomach growled. The plane ride had been long, and as a general rule she didn't eat airline food. She exited the room, heading for the cafeteria.

When Samantha had first discovered her power she’d been in the middle of a game of water polo. She’d been shoved under on accident, and all of a sudden she froze up. She’d breathed in quite a bit of water and was in the ER for a couple of hours before she’d woken up.

That was when her parents had decided to send her here.

It’s not fair!

There was the cafeteria. She stepped inside, seeing that a few people were already here. Then she felt herself drifting away, becoming more detached... She fought it. No, no, n-

Her body froze up, her eyes glazed over, and she fell flat on her face.
Just another quack spouting psychobabble.

Zeke: O-Week, Monday, 1:18 pm

"Yeah, I live on a place called Angel Island. It's awesome. There's a magical gem called the Master Emerald that keeps it floating in the air, and on a clear day you can stare down a waterfall and see it hit the ocean below..."

Zeke paused. Dierdrie seemed to be listening, which was something Zeke was completely not used to. He coughed. "So, uh, what's your place like?"

Dierdrie opened her mouth to respond, but her eyes widened as she looked past him. Zeke spun around to see a girl on the ground.
"What happened?" he asked anxiously as Dierdrie stumbled past him to get to the girl.
"I don't know!" she replied. "She just collapsed... she's breathing, but only barely." She took hold of the girl's wrist and lay a finger on it. "She still has a pulse, too, but it's slow."
She turned to Zeke as other lunching students crowded around. He could tell she was nervous, although she was hiding it well. "I don't know if we should move her... What should we do?"

Zeke was on his feet. "The medic's office is in the admin building, right?"
"Yeah, it's right over - eeeyah!"
With a quick cry of "be right back!" Zeke had launched himself towards the admin building to find the medic, whose name was... oh geez. He had no idea.

Diedrie Rose- O Week 1:19

I felt wind surge past me, my hair whipping at my face. I looked back up at the door way, hlaf expecting Zeke to be as dazed as I was...but he wasn't there. Had he been the one to run off so fast?

"That is so cool!" I called after him. Realising people were looking at me I focused back onto the girl. I placed my hand under her hair to feel her temperature. It was fine, there wasn't a hint of heat.

She groaned slowly turning her body over, her eyes brows furrowed but her eye lids remained closed. "Hey!" I screamed in her ear, "Wake up!" I heard someone laugh behind me, but the dissapeared at the heavy foot falls of someone rushing us.

I looked up to see Zeke jogging towards us, not even a flush had rosen to his cheeks. A large brawn man followed in his lead, his cheeks were bright red. The white coat he wore flapped in the wind, "Oh my god!" He said in a very deep voice.

I looked up at Zeke and grinned at him, "Did you run to get him?" He nodded staring at the girl who lay on the floor. "That is so cool!" I awed my eyes widening.

Corda 1:06 PM

Corda watched the handsome guy with the handsomer snake amble out of the cafeteria. He quite intrigued her, especially his ability to influence people so easily - an ability she hoped her awareness and heritage would protect her from. She had a cockroach follow him to his room and planned to pay a visit once things had settled down a bit.

Things, however, did not seem to want to settle down. The boy with the constant seizures who had tripped over poor Sylvester (instead of that irritating turquoise spikeball) returned, shortly followed by a girl with a giant sword riding what looked like a mutant Oocca. Things looked like they were about to get violently interesting until the Headmaster stepped in - a shame. Corda would have enjoyed the chance to have assessed the red-head's and giant sword girl's abilities when they were serious. She was careful not to let any of her disappointment show through as the quite obviously befuddled redhead (whose name Corda now knew was Bart, thanks to his shouting it at Ms. Strife) tried asking the spikeball about the gentleman with the snake.

The cockroach returned and informed Corda that the snake man (she really must learn his name) was in Room A2. She gathered up her disorganized papers and stuffed them in a portfolio before setting off, choosing to ignore the girl who fainted dramatically in the cafeteria entrance - thank goodness for multiple doors.

Corda made her way to A Block, in no particular hurry, and took the opportunity to get a feel for the grounds. She eventually meandered her way to Room A2, and spared a moment to compose herself before opening the door, appreciative of the lock-less doors, part of the no locked doors policy on campus. She poked her head through, tentatively calling, "Sylvester?" and acting quite surprised and sheepish at finding someone in the room.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Corda exclaimed, flushing. "I didn't know anyone was inside the room. I hope there's no one else..." She took the opportunity to glance around, noting how impeccably neat Nolan's side was. "I'm very sorry, but, oh, you wouldn't happen to have seen Sylves-- an emerald green eyelash viper around would you? He's a bit upset with me since he got stepped on by that red-head boy, not that I'd intended that. You see, I was just trying to trip up that turquoise blur that had scattered my papers which I had spent so much time organizing - thank you very much for helping me pick them up, by the way - only that didn't happen and now Sylvester's upset at me and has slithered off somewhere--" He was actually curled quite comfortably in a pocket of her billowing sleeve. "--and my papers are a mess, and I'm so very sorry to bother you, but have you seen him? I'm worried that he might be seriously hurt..."

Corda, having spoken more in two minutes that she typically spoke in a month, stopped and stood in the doorway, trying not to fidget as she awaited a response.

Nolan Lehnsherr - 1.09 PM, Dorm A2

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, flushing. "I didn't know anyone was inside the room. I hope there's no one else...I'm very sorry, but, oh, you wouldn't happen to have seen Sylves-- an emerald green eyelash viper around would you? I'm worried that he might be seriously hurt..."

Nolan blinked. She spoke awfully fast for someone who seemed so quiet. She played with her fingers, chewing her lower lip so hard he was afraid she'd bleed.

So this was what awkward silence felt like.

Then something fell out of her sleeve. Something green and squirming. Something Liam approached out of curiosity. Another snake.

Nolan smiled. "That wouldn't happen to be Sylvester, would it?"

She blushed even harder. "Umm -"

He held up a hand to prevent her from further embarrassing herself. "Forgive me. I've forgotten to introduce myself. My name is Nolan Lehnsherr." A low bow never did anyone harm.

She looked relieved. "Corda."

Corda, huh? She would be a better roommate than that pink blob was. Nolan was almost tempted to convince her so.

Just then Kiat burst into the room. Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Nolan frowned. "Kiat."

Kiat ignored him and left the room without saying anything. She must still be sore about what he said.

Corda cleared her throat.

Kiat 1:03 PM

Eyes widening, Kiat scooted out of the room she had entered. Several students were in there, including Mr. Kent and a girl with a humongous sword. She began to hop down the hall, feeling light as a feather, and listened to parts of conversations being held.

"...well, guess what? I can fly." One of the students bragged. They were mostly talking about the strangest kids in the school, though every now and then she heard more bragging about the abilities they currently had. Kiat paused a moment so she could survey the hall, seeing mostly human looking people, though she occasionally saw more strange looking people like her and the hedgehog. Turning down one more hall, she spotted the hedgehog along with two other people.

Speak of the devil?

The thought crossed her mind as she walked towards them, seeing one of the girls fall. The hedgehog and the other person both started to freak out before the hedgehog raced off. What was his name again? Zere? Neeke? Zeke? Yes, Zeke sounded right. She continued to hop closer until she reached speaking distance.

"What's going on?" Kiat asked as she drew nearer.

Orelia, dorm B4, 1:17 PM

I reached my room and plopped down on the bed. I sighed. I thankfully had no roommate, for now. I unloaded my things and sat back down, bored. Well, as long as I was here, I might as well socialize. Maybe I'd even make a friend, although that relationship would only be temporary- unless they had the same intentions as I. My stomach growled. I headed to the cafeteria- it was a good place to meet people anyway.

I walked through the doors and looked around- there were some pretty colorful faces and figures, but nobody seemed particularly welcoming. A girl who had been walked in front of me stopped.
"Excuse me?" I said, a bit annoyed. I had almost run into her. She didn't move. I raised my eyebrows. Was she deaf or something?
"Can you please m-" I started. I never finished, because she toppled over in a face plant on the floor. I gasped and ran in front of her, flipping her over onto her back.
"Oh my god! Are you okay?" I asked. People were starting to look over. She didn't respond, she simply stayed frozen in place.
"Some body get help!" I yelled at some of the people standing around, gawking. I stayed there, confused as to what to do. She was frozen like a plank. I simply kept her propped up and waited for help to come.

Corda - Dorm A2 - 1:10 PM

Corda flushed, appalled that Sylvester had decided now of all nows to leave his pouch. She had told him to stay put, what with his having been stepped on by seizure boy. She stood there, at a complete loss for words, and felt no small measure of gratitude as Nolan introduced himself - and with a low bow, no less! It was so nice to see that some people retained manners, and Corda was quite charmed. She curstied in reply and gave her own name.

Corda was just about to thank Nolan for his (unnecessary) help in finding Sylvester when something undeniably and all-too-noticeably pink burst into the room. It to Corda looked like a giant blob with soul-devouring eyes, and though it quickly left, she had to clear her throat before she could trust herself to speak without an unbecoming squeak.

"That wouldn't happen to have been your roommate, would it?" Her eyes darted over to the rather messy half of the room before returning to Nolan and Liam.

"It would." The carefully polite expression on his face implied, to Corda's eye, an, "Unfortunately."

"Oh, well, it must make for some interesting company," Corda said, the statement almost a question. She knelt down and picked up Sylvester, who wrapped himself around her right forearm. "Thank you, by the way, for helping me find Sylvester, even if it wasn't really required." She flushed. "I do hope you won't tell anyone about him; I know the school has a policy about snakes, but I simply couldn't be parted from him, and they refused to permit him, seeing as how he is venomous..." Corda trailed of hopefully.

Gratian - Outdoors/Dorm A2 - 1:15 pm

I gathered a couple more arrows, all but one of which on target. Placing them back in my quiver, I decided to go back to my dorm room and see if my roommate had arrived yet.

I entered the dorm and turned towards the closest room on my right. I opened the door and stumbled in on two taller kids, one a girl colored teal, the other a pale boy. Was I roomed with two people? I thought-

"Hi, my name's Corda," the teal one said. "Do you know Nolan? I can leave if you want."

"I don't know him," the boy, Nolan, said. "What are you doing here?"

"Isn't this A1?" I asked. I heard a hissing noise, and looked around anxiously. There was some huge bright pink pillow in the middle of the room, moving slightly.

"This is A2. Could you leave, please?" Nolan said.

"Sylvester, what's wrong? Calm down," Corda said, and I realized she had a snake wound around her arm.

"Um-" I said, and mumbled an apology. I backed away from the snake, and reached for the door. Suddenly, it slithered off of her arm and went towards me. I jumped away, but the snake bit me on the leg.

"Aaaaagh!" I screamed, and hit my leg, missing the snake completely. I reached towards it to try and pull it off, but Corda leaped towards me.

"Sylvester!" she screamed, and tackled me to the ground, leaving the snake unharmed and still firmly attached to my leg. I suddenly realized how much it hurt, and started wriggling, trying to get away, but I was no match for her.

"Nolan!" she said. Nolan looked at her, seeming kind of amused by what had happened. "Go and find the familiar teacher! Fast!" Nolan stretched and walked out the door. I lay as still as I could, tears starting to roll down my eyes from the pain. Corda seemed more worried about the snake, examining it.

Furiously embarrassed, I shut my eyes and clenched my fists.

Nolan Lehnsherr - 1.17 PM, Dorm A2

When the snake bit the boy on the leg, Nolan had to bite his lip to keep from laughing. He had already been rude enough to the boy and making an enemy out of him would do no good.

"Go and find the Familiars teacher! And fast!" Corda screamed, checking Sylvester.

He understood where she was coming from, sort of. Liam moved towards the boy and Nolan tightened his grip. No, Liam. That was not dinner.

Nolan hung around for a full minute before leaving the entertaining scene. There seemed to be chaos everywhere. A stiffened girl in the hallway, someone fainting in the cafeteria. Almost all the teachers were busy.

Plus, Nolan didn't have an idea in hell who the Care of Familiars teacher was. Maybe the stable was the place to check.

The first thing Liam saw was his long-awaited dinner - a giant chicken.

The next thing they saw was the giant-sword-carrying-girl in front of Liam's dinner.

"Are you the Care of Familiars teacher?" Nolan asked, careful not to startle her. That big sword could slice him right in half.

"No." Her voice was quiet as she petted her chicken.

Where in the world did she get such a big chicken? His eye gleamed when he saw a red orb in her hand. Wasn't that the orb the speed demon took with him? One of which Nolan had safely tucked away in his room? "That orb is beautiful. Where did you get it?"

"My father gave it to me," she answered testily.

"Oh. I saw a boy carrying one of them. It's similar to the one you're holding."

"WHAT?! You saw the other one? Where?!"

"He had puffy red hair. I failed to get his name. But you can rest assured he has another one." Nolan stretched out his hand. "My name is Nolan. Would you be kind enough to grace me with your name?"

She fists clenched and raised an eyebrow. "Kumo. I have to go now."

Kumo. Odd name. So many odd names here. "Be my guest. Do you have any idea where the care of familiars teacher is?"

"No." And just like that she left.

Screw it. Nolan headed back to the room alone. Corda was still pinning the boy to the ground.

"Where's the teacher?!"

Nolan held up a hand to shush her and knelt down beside the snake, murmuring to it. "You're letting go of your master's friend."

Did snakes understand English? Nolan knew Liam did, but he wasn't so sure about Sylvester.

Luckily, Sylvester let go. Corda breathed a sigh of relief but the boy continued screaming in pain.

"It's the venom," Corda said. It'll disappear soon.

"It doesn't hurt. It can't hurt that much," Nolan replied.

The boy stopped screaming but he continued to breathe heavily. Liam hissed. He still didn't trust the boy. Nolan nudged the boy's quiver to Kiat's side of the room with a foot. He didn't trust the quivers near the boy, and he didn't trust the boy to keep the quiver clean.

"How'd you get it out - never mind. I owe you one, Nolan," Corda said.

Nolan almost felt sorry for the boy. Once he realizes that it was supposed to hurt he'd probably start screaming again. But that was later. Not a current problem. Nolan would let the future worry for itself.

Zeke: O-Week, Monday, 1:21 pm

Zeke appreciated the compliment, but for now the unconscious girl weighed more heavily on his mind. The medic quickly got to work.
"I'm Chris, by the way. Chris Banner." he stated quickly. He took her pulse and performed a few more basic medical tests.

"Is she ok?" Dierdrie asked, a little paler than before. "She's not dying, is she?"
"I don't believe so," Chris replied, "but she seems to be in some sort of coma... not a normal one, either. It seems to be more supernatural... I think she's spontaneously trapped herself in-between dimensions."
"Can you bring her out of it?" Zeke asked.
"I could try, but without knowing the nature of the girl's condition it would be a great risk," said Chris. "We'd be better to find someone - hey, Isaac!"

He was calling over to an old man who was slowly making his way past the crowd. His wrinkled face bore a look of impatience when he heard his name, but he began making his way toward the group.
"Isaac is our Anti-Villainy teacher and counsellor," Chris explained. Isaac reached the group and planted his cane onto the ground with a thud.
"What can I help you with, Dr Banner?" he asked in a monotone manner.
"Isaac, can you think of anyone, any teacher here, that has experience with interdimensional travelling?"

For a second Isaac seemed to glare at him: but if he did, he'd stopped within the next instant. His gaze turned to the girl on the ground.
"That's unfortunate," he said, though for all the emotion he showed he might have been watching papier-mache harden.
"Unfortunately, doctor," he continued, his eyes still on the girl, "I don't believe there is anybody who has such experience. You'll have to excuse me... much to do..."
And without a further comment, he was limping away.

"Well... thank you for your help," Chris called after him, visibly peeved. "Well, I don't know if I can bring her back, but I'm fairly sure I can move her safely." He lifted the girl in his arms and a wallet dropped out of her pocket. Zeke quickly grabbed it.
"I'm not going to take anything!" he said indignantly at the suspicious looks the others were casting. He flipped it open and peered at the student ID. "Samantha Colin. It doesn't say a dorm room, they must still be deciding on hers..."
As the crowd of students dissipated, the three continued towards the infirmary, Zeke handing the wallet over to Dierdrie to have a look at.

Dierdrie Rose O Week 1:30 pm

I stared at the leather skin wallet, frowning at the picture. She looked a lot older in the small square photograph than she did in reality.
"Samantha" I said, looking up just in case saying her name would miraculously awake her from the so called "coma".

Nothing. I sighed closing the wallet. This, "Samantha", could go into different dimensions! How cool was that! All I could do was change the temperature from hot to cold. Scratching my hands I decided to let the rooms temperature drop by a couple of degrees.

"Ooo, it's getting a little chilly" Dr. Banner shook his shoudlers trying to warm himself. I grinned playfully at the display of students shivering under the sudden change of temperature. Zeke stared at me suspiciously from under his eye lashes.

"What's your power again?" He asked as we began mounting up a fleet of stairs.

I giggled, "Ice." He nodded slightly realisation beaming in his eyes. I grinned staring back at Samantha. Would she ever wake up or would she stay like this forever? Isaac; the anti-villiany teacher and counsellor had said that no one had this type of skill like Samantha did...But, he seemed some what fishy to me.

My stomach suddenly grumbled at the thought of fish, my cheek reddened. "Oohps" I laughed as Dr. Banner opened a pale white door, the paint crumbling from the top.
I spy!

For in everything it is no easy task to find the middle ... anyone can get angry—that is easy—or give or spend money; but to do this to the right person, to the right extent, at the right time, with the right motive, and in the right way, that is not for everyone, nor is it easy; wherefore goodness is both rare and laudable and noble.
