Malfunction (Spaceship Storybook)

In the year of 2016, NASA and the Airforce finally managed to create a large spaceship that could travel much farther into space than they ever imagined. Deciding to test the ship, they sent a large crew out into space. The Prisc 602 ran smoothly until it malfunctioned and the controls were no longer active. The ship is deep in space and continues to move farther away from Earth. The crew must repair the ship before they get too far away to find their way home, or they may be forced to land on an alien planet. It's up to you and the rest of the crew to repair the ship.

Sex and Romance is allowed as long as it isn't descriptive and that it is brief. Also, keep in mind that romance probably isn't at the top of their list at the moment. And it's illegal in the Air Force.

Name: Major Audrey Hayes

Age: 24

Rank: Major (Soon to be Lieutenant Colonel.)

Appearance/Description: Short (natural color) red hair, blue eyes, and fair/light skin. Audrey is 5'4 and used to be plump until she started training for the airforce. She is now somewhat slender and muscular.

Personality: She respects her commanding officers. She also takes her missions seriously, though she has a good sense of humour and does take risks.

History: She considered several different careers before settling on the airforce. Her parents encouraged her and her younger brother to do any career/job they wanted. For the most part, she respected her parents and teachers as a child and teenager. For awhile she got caught up in drama at highschool until she learned to ignore it and stop participating in it.

Rank: Lead Aerospace Engineer

Appearance: Brown hair, blue eyes, jeans, black tees, and steel-toed work boots. 6'6", skinny, wire frame glasses, average body type, hair looks like it is never combed, and clothes look to be a little bit too large. Looks like he hardly sleeps.

Personality: Easy going, quiet, can be harsh when it comes to working. Can take a joke, but doesn't laugh often. Is mostly found in lab, engine room, viewing room bow, and bridge. (If you ever seen Stargate Universe, imagine my guy as a younger version of Dr. Rush.)

History: Top of his Aerospace Engineer class at MIT. Was one of the lead designers of the ship. Volunteered to be on the maiden voyage.

Other: Gets annoyed when people bother him.

Name-Liam Jacob Aarons

Age-25

Rank-Lieutenant/Head of Security

Appearance-Stands 5'11 and weights around 195lbs. Has short brown hair and dark brown eyes. Always wears military dress.

Personality-Straight forward a direct Liam hates to beat around the bush. He respects the chain of command, but will speak up when he believes the time calls for it.

History-Liam is a fifth generation military man. Oddly enough, not one descendant has ever been in the same branch of the military with Liam's father being a Navy man. Liam grew up knowing he was going to be in the military and chose the Air Force because he believed the future was in the air, not the ground.

Other-Head of the ships security force. Though not the highest ranking officer on the ship, he holds power over all security regulated matters unless dictated by the Captain. In all other cases his rank applies.(Hope that's okay?)Has a wife back of Earth.

Personality: She is tough, and cool, but can be sweet when you need her. She is a born fighter and very strong. She has a toomboy type of personality, and would rather play football than do nails.

History: Raised by two freak parents who wanted her to be a model, Marnie quickly became depressed. But when she was 14, she pulled herself back together and put everything she had into gymnastics and karate. She soon started to win competiions, and when she was 18 she opened her own karate school. She sold it when given an oportunity to go on the space trip, though.

Other (Optional): Up for love. Doesn't talk about her past, ever. She lives in the 'now'.

Personality: Loyal, kind and caring though he often comes across as harsh and cold.
History: Dimitri's father is a musican while his mother was an artist. His mother is dead and his father was always too busy for him so when he was given the chane to go into space, Dimitri gave up everything for it.

Name: Geneal Alaistar Cain.
Age: 45.
Rank: General.
Appearance/Description: Tall with greying black hair and stormy blue eyes. He is almost always seen in his Uniform.

Personality: Harsh and demanding, Alaistar can seem cruel but he's really just good at his job. He is loving and kind, to his wife and children.
History: Alaistar has a wife back on Earth and three children, all in their 20s. He was given the chance to go into space and took it. One of his daughters is married with her own young child.
Other (Optional): Not up for love. He has a wife, although....anything could happen in space, right?

I pressed a button on the console and shut down the *centrifuge. The ship slowly lost its gravity and I floated off the floor. Suddenly, there was a load click from the ouside, and a voice came over the intercom said, "Ok, Ash. We're hooked up to the Spaceship Challenger."

"Thanks Cain," I said. I switched the communication link to Challenger and said, "Welcome to **USIGS Prisc 602, Challenger. You have permission to board." I flipped the switch to open the connecting doors. "Everyone get in, I will switch the centrifuge back on, and there will be a brief meeting in the Mess Hall located at the stern (end)."

"Everyone's on board," said the pilot of Challenger.

"Thanks, over and out." I switched the intercoms off, shut the doors, and turned the centrifuge back on. Slowly, I made my way to the mess hall as the gravity started to come back. It was time to meet the people who would quickly become a pain in my ass.


*It's similar to the thing astronauts and pilots use to simulate more G's on the human body, but in this case it will simulate Earth's gravity. We will be walking on the walls technically. Don't mix it up with a artificial gravity generator, it's more like those spinning things at fairs.
