Mayten flew over to Tay. The storm seemed to be growing and the clouds darkened but Mayten was just happy to be free after weeks of rehab.

"Mayten, don't forget your supposed to be resting your legs," warned Yaken.

Mayten laughed"I'll be fine you scaredy dragon," Together they landed close to Tay." Hey there long time no see!" said Mayten hopping off her Dragon without taking any precautions agianst for her legs.

Yaken growled lowly to remind her to be careful." Yes last time I saw that gorgeous dragon was when we were fighting off those evil dragons." He said and made a love sick face towards Tay's dragon.

Mayten rolled her eyes. "What am I going to do with you?" she muttered softly.

Adaer

The two of them were enjoying themselves, that much was clear. Lupria oscillated between managing to overtake Nuk with bursts of speed, and losing what minor advantage of distance they had gained with a triumphant flip, or something similar.

Once again, they found themselves in front of Bree and her dragon, now with tiny wisps of cloud floating around them as they reached the outer edge of the storm. Lupria rolled cheerfully, spinning right across the front of Nukpano. He banked sharply, throwing an angry glare her way.

Adaer simply laughed, letting Lupria roll again, back towards their competition. They were essentially just teasing them now. That teasing, naturally, cost them the race - Nukpano disappeared into the heavy grey of the storm.

Lupria followed moments later, thrilled to be diving into the thick clouds. Her rider felt much the same way, enjoying the crackling of the highly charged atmosphere. But he couldn't see Bree anywhere. He was hardly concerned for her - she no doubt felt as at home in the storm as he did - but he enjoyed her company, and it was certainly more fun to have her and Nukpano along. He whistled, this one not for Lupria, having no significant meaning to its tone or length, just a nice, loud one to let Bree and Nuk know where they were.

Toser

Watch duty, for Toser, meant more keeping an eye on the other riders' dragons than actually watching for any enemies. After all, he was more than capable of handling any humans who might appear, as were any of the four dragons present.

But there still seemed to be some confusion over whether it was a good or a bad thing that Eighth had killed her parents. Phobos and Ash glowered at each other, Ash having convinced herself that the king of this land had been unjustly murdered by his daughter.

Toser, and no doubt Natas and Alice by this stage, had realised that it would be far more beneficial to the cause of Shadow to have one of their own holding the reins here. And, as far as he could see, Eighth was the right person for the job. Independant enough that she would be able to perform the role, and loyal enough that she would do so for the right reasons. Better still, it would remove one obstacle from his own path.

Alice rushed out the doors moments later, wild-eyed and spattered with blood. Natas and Eighth followed close behind, both evidently having a far stronger grip on themselves. Toser glanced at Alice dispassionately, wondering exactly what had provoked that state. Would it have been the blood? Or just seeing the light go out of her victim's eyes?

"Are we done here?" He asked, looking from Natas to Eighth. "I'm tired of standing around."

Manarian and Reitsprea

Manarian flew to the edge of the storm on Reitsprea’s back, searching for the other Riders.

“Summon the rest,” The old Rider had told him. “I’m afraid that something has happened.”

So Manarian had taken off, heading from one group of students to the next. He told them that the Masters wanted to see them, and that they should come at once.
He got to the group on the cliff last. Spotting the end of a dragon’s tail whip out of a cloud, Reitsprea made for it, coming close enough for her rider to be heard.

“Come out!” he called, peering into the vapor. “I need a word!” They waited there a minute, but, as no one seemed to have heard, they made their way down towards the ground.

It was no good looking for the dragons and their riders in that cloud. For one thing, it would be nearly impossible to see, and for another, Manarian did not much like the idea of a dragon accidentally flying into Reitsprea.

So he waited on the ground. Soon enough, the others would fly out, and then they could head for the meet.

Brystianne

Bree was thrilled by the feel of the electricity in the clouds. Nuk was enjoying himself as well. This was going to be a good storm.

A whistle sounded from behind her. That would be Adaer and Lupria.

"Come on Nuk," she whispered. He spun around and flew not even five feet until they saw Adaer, grinning and lounging on Lupria's back.

"It's a big one," Bree said, smiling. "Oh, and did I mention that we won the race?"

Nuk raised his head proudly and Adaer rolled his eyes laughing. They both knew that Nuk and Lupria both were extremely fast dragons, but Nuk had lost the lead by getting distracted by something down in the trees. Lupria had overtaken them and would have won if it hadn't been for them showing off.

Bree would feel her hair getting damp from the moisture in the clouds now. She laughed again. Storms always put her in a good mood.

"So now what?" She asked Adaer.

Zara:

Roshan and I flew back towards the cliff after hearing something about the Masters calling for us. Roshan wasn't too happy about turning back from a race she was winning, but did so anyway. She landed beside the boy on the cliff.

"You called?" I asked and he looked towards me.

"Yes."

I shrugged and slipped off Roshan's back, gazing at the boy's dragon. She was silver-white with hints of blue. I couldn't help staring at her. The boy cleared his throat and brought my attention back to him.

"Oh, sorry," I said in a small voice and turned away. Why was I embarrassed? His element was obviously water and fire and water don't mix well. Okay, I was telling myself off now... I pushed the though out of my mind and concentrated on watching the waves.

Zara, Roshan said and I jumped, looking up at her. Is something wrong? Your thoughts were quite...odd just now.

"It's nothing," I said and she blinked at me. I traced the scar over her eye and sighed, turning away, back towards the boy. He was watching me intently. "What?"

Manarian and Reitsprea

The girl slid off the fire-dragon, her eyes fixed to Reitsprea. Manarian could feel the white dragon’s thoughts, and they seemed rather surprised. However, he himself was rather unimpressed. It was true, his partner was a beautiful dragon, but it was no excuse to stare.

He slightly lifted one eyebrow, but otherwise his face remained impassive.

“The elders have called a meeting,” he said, looking the girl in the eye. “We are to go to them at once.”

Eighth

Toser was anxious to leave.
"Yes. We'll go to the mountains and lay low for a day or two. Just enough time for them to look for an heir. Then I'll reveal myself and take the crown." I said."Take a good look around- this will soon be our base." I finished. "Let's go."

We walked outside to our dragons. Alice seemed relieved. As we walked out, I saw a glint in Toser's eye. A glint I did not like. I let a little fear seep into his mind. Just in case he was getting ideas.
Honey, you should see me in a crown.

He raised an eyebrow at me. He still had a blank look on his face. “The elders have called a meeting,” he said meeting my gaze. “We are to go to them at once.”

"Okay," I hedged and looked around. "Where are the others?"

He kept watching me. Okay, this was starting to make me feel uncomfortable but I wasn't going to let him get to me.

Roshan snorted and curled her tail around my legs. I glanced back over my shoulder at her. She was glaring at the boy and his dragon. Oh...right. Water, fire. I got it. I turned back to the boy.

"I'm Zara," I told him. "This is Roshan. You are?"

Manarian and Reitsprea

“I’m Manarian, and this is Reitsprea.” He said, nodding back to his dragon. Reitsprea nodded her head in acknowledgement. She thought to him;

How odd. A fire dragon is behaving. Manarian, not even turning his head, told her to be quiet.

“In regards to your other question,” he continued, “I am waiting for the storm dragons to come down. I couldn’t find them in the cloud.”

"Oh," I said, turning to look up at the storm brewing. "Roshan, will you?" I asked. She grinned at me, showing off her teeth and launched herself off the cliff.

"What is she doing?" Manarian asked. I grinned and turned back to him.

"Oh, she's just going to stir up some trouble and get the others to come back down," I told him and sat down on a nearby rock.

I watched Roshan somersault through the air and disappear into the clouds. Moments later she came flying back out of the storm followed by a couple of other dragons.

>sorry it's so long<

Tay

My muscles strained as I heaved myself on to another branch. Cautiously standing I spread my arms out evenly on either side to keep my balance. A sudden gust of wind made me wobble unsteadily but I managed to keep my footing. Glanced down through the many other branches below me, I spied the ocean spread out at the foot of the cliff that I was on. I brought my gaze back up and concentrated on the edge of the branch, and the sky beyond it. After checking my balance once again, I took off down the thick oak branch at full speed. Coming to the edge of the branch, my leg muscles tensed, and then I sprang. I plummeted toward the ground. As I closed my eyes I let the thrill of it come over me. My hood was pulled away from my face as the wind rushed at me faster and faster as I descended toward the earth, which was getting closer every second. Suddenly I heard a rushing noise, and then something brown swooped under me and caught me before I hit the ground.

I grabbed on to the slick scales of Cilt'ti, my dragon, and let out a cry, "wooo hoooo!" This was our favorite trick. I raised my hands in the air and laughed into the wind. Cilt'ti teetered beneath me and and my hands quickly flew down to grasp on to her, so that I wouldn't fall. I could feel my dragon's sides shake as she rumbled a good-natured laugh.

Her voice entered my head, Don't fall, she teased.

I glared down at her, I'll get you back, I warned.

Both of us looked up as thunder shook some dark-looking clouds, We'd better land, I told Cilt'ti. She nodded her big head in agreement, and then dived for the earth.

After landing, I heard the flapping of wings and I looked up to see Mayten and her dragon flying above us.

I could feel Cilt'ti shake with excitement, It's Yaken! she said, I haven't seen him in a long time. she turned to me, We should call them down.

I smiled at her anxiousness, Yes, you wound very much like to see Yaken again, wouldn't you? I teased.

She snorted, I don't know what your talking about.

Sure, what ever. I'll call them down anyway, I haven't seen Mayten in a long time. I turned and cupped my hands around my mouth to shout to them, but they must have already seen us because the were spiralling down to earth.

They landed and I ran to Mayten. We had been best friends, but lately both of us have been really busy training, and I hadn't seen her in a long time.

"Hey there, long time no see," she said as we embraced.

"Ya, I haven't seen you for EVER!" I said.

Suddenly a boy rode through the on-coming thunder clouds and called down to us, "There's a meeting, the elders want us all to gather at the meeting house," and then he flew away.

I looked back at Mayten, "We haven't had a meeting for awhile, must be something important."

Finally some action, Cilt'ti's words came to my mind. I smiled at Cilt'ti, I agreed.

When I looked back at Mayten her eyes were sparkling, I knew what that meant, "Race you!" she called over her shoulder as she hopped on her dragon. I jumped on Cilt'ti and we sped off.

Adaer

He relaxed, stretched out on Lupria's back as they drifted about in the storm, and let the harmless electricity play over him. He sat up a little and glanced around, a wry smile on his face. "I heard Manarian just before. Something about a meeting." He chuckled, "But... I don't particularly want to go just yet."

Bree smiled, "I know, I like it here."

Without warning, a dragon ploughed through the clouds beneath them. A jet of fire blew through the space between Lupria and Nuk, and the dragons pulled away instinctively, almost tossing Adaer away in the process. He twisted midair, managing to grab one of Lupria's talons, at which point she deposited him back on her neck.

Adaer looked up at Bree, a savage grin on his face. "Well, that's decided what I want to do now." With that, he let out three quick whistles, and Lupria dived back into the cloud, in pursuit of the other dragon. Interrupt me flying, will you?

As the fire dragon landed, Lupria blew a quick series of lightning bolts, aiming them at the ground nearby. The dragon started as small explosions of rock and mud flew up around her. Just for good measure, Lupria fired another, waeaker one, at the ground at Manarian's feet, spraying him with dirt. He frowned, but appeared not to react beyond that.

Lupria landed, but Adaer stayed on her neck for the time being, wanting to be amongst the clouds once more as soon as he could. "Well, I'm here now. What did you want?"
