Verse 1
I took that path again..
The one overgrown
with weeds and shrubs.
I lost all peace of mind
for the second time.

I was alone, there in..
all the seeds I'd sown
in bags and tubs.
The hoarder nowhere near
this sign.

Chorus
You know me too well
this forest..

Dying and incap-
ab-le to love.

You know me too well
this forest..

is withered and crumbling
yes, falling limb first
to pieces. (x2)

Verse 2
I waited day by day
searching for the one
who knew too much.
Elusive mastermind
with a taste for me.

Under rock and decay
of trees that the sun
had feared to touch.
Caught in a blind man's bind
and I failed to see.

Chorus
You know me too well
this forest..

Dying and incap-
ab-le to love.

You know me too well
this forest..

is withered and crumbling
yes, falling limb first
to pieces.(2x)

Bridge
This
Corrosive destruction is
my doing.
I give. I'll..
give it to you.
Fix
Corrosive destructions that's
impeding.
I'll stop. Stop..
searching for you.. (2x)

Chorus
You know me too well
this forest

dying and incap-
ab-le to love.

You know me too well
this forest

is withered and crumbling
yes falling limb first
to pieces. (x4)

This is great!! I found myself singing (badly  ) in my head instead of just reading it which is a good thing you want lyrics to be like that hahaha. I seriously think that this could be a song I would listen to if it were on the radio or something. Your wording is strong and has just the right amount of emotion. It is beautiful. I am just wondering... what genre of music do you see these lyrics becoming?

MUSIC
This seems like an electronica piece, in the style of Imogen Heap. Lots of synths, a beautiful drum pulsing its way through. I can easily imagine electronica fitting this set very well.

TOPIC
It seems very sad, in a kind of melancholy way. There's a lot of wounded bravado and I can see the emotional process throughout the song. It's quite lovely.

GRADE: B+

Well, I wrote this song while playing guitar (acoustic). Not necessarily Rock but I would say some Adult Alternative.

To give you a better idea..

Setting; Alone in my room, rain falling outside my window, lights off, pouring my heart out to the loneliness before me.

Thanks a lot for the reviews guys. I enjoyed reading them. :)

(Haha, and you were spot on Ross. :D)

So, I really liked the whole theme of the forest in these lyrics. The one line I didn't understand was at the very end of verse 1. Where did the hoarder come from/ who is it? Is it you? The person you're singing to? And just a little above that where you said "all the seeds I'd sown in bags and tubs", I don't get what you mean. Aren't seeds sown in the ground or pots or something more garden related? Sorry, if I'm being too literal, but those were the only parts I felt didn't flow. The forest metaphor worked really well in the chorus though, especially the last line in it. Great job! It probably sounds fantastic with just a guitar.
