erm... i'm sorry but this is really unattractive in many ways. i don't want to come across as rude but it's just quite an ugly photo and looks really boring. sorry again, but it doesn't appeal to me in any way! But i understand this is attempted photography, try taking shots of something more interesting.

but keep trying!

I'm going to have to agree with the person who posted above me, it's just too simple. What I really like about photographs is that they tend to capture not just an image, but a story...one that the person seeing can interpret for themselves (ie a room, a reflection, etc). Maybe just using something to give this a story-like quality would help to spark interest. Although I have to give you props, there's something about the light vs. dark I like. Art's always a matter of opinion and hard to judge, so take different outlooks with a grain of sand but consider them as well.

Well to be honest I like it because it was a really simple line on the ground and from the angle I took it from it looks like a giant path. Kind of like how we see certain aspects of our life. As in, when you're in senior school, you think it's a big deal and it's really hard. However that's because of your point of view at that moment and not because of how it really is. It's just a small aspect of your life that makes up the bigger picture.

And that's how I felt when I was leaving school at the time .

Also I liked the wear and tear on the line because no part of our life is perfect.
Heh it's lame now I explained how I see it. Just wanted to show why I liked it personally, because I don't agree with what you guys said above about how it holds no story. Every photograph holds a story, even if it's something very simple. But sometimes you have to look hard or think differently just to find the story there. It's the whole fun of taking the picture... the interpretation.
Sorry for this, but just wanted to clear all that up .

I like and understand that interpretation to a point...but I guess that's how it is - art speaks to some and not to others. Getting your viewpoint on it a little does open a little understanding though, and I was glad to hear your side of this. Still, I stick to my opinion that something's missing.

I'm going to disagree with the above posters and say that the simplicity of this gains my appreciation. While I do feel that this could be improved by placing an object at endpoint, I think the line leading away adds interest that the color supplements. If you could manage this sort of shot without showing an endpoint for the line, it'd be more fantastic, because it'll look like a never ending road vanishing point. I think it's a good shot as far as focus, perspective, and clarity go. The only quip that exists is interest, but break norms. You created interest enough here.
