mothers, fathers
sons and daughters
all sitting around the family tree.
all filled with glee for one another
glee for the new, glee for the old,
glee for the shy, glee for the bold,
and everyone was making merry
but only the grown-ups were drinking sherry.
O! what wonderful times they are
O! what wonderful rhymes they are.

thanks a million for reviewing!! Tear it appart!!

Hi there!

I think this is a very cute little rhyming poem. :)

There only problem I may have is right here...
all sitting around the family tree.
all filled with glee for one another

These two lines are the only ones that do not rhyme. Other than that and the tiny rhythm problem here...

and everyone was making merry
but only the grown-ups were drinking sherry.

...there's nothing wrong with it. It put a smile on my face and isn't that the point? :)

I liked the fact that this poem is short and simple. Although the enitire poem never rhymed, the lines that did were pretty good :)
