The wind blows the frail branches
Against my bare shoulders,
The small lake's water tickles my toes
Just like you used to.

I have a pen and paper in my hand,
Composing those every day poems,
Those every day stories,
That you once admired.

Tears slowly fall down my face,
And sit on the bridge of my nose,
Becoming calm dew like drops,
But you can't wipe them.

I smile as I remember your laugh,
Your smile and beautiful eyes,
Your deep soothing voice,
And your gentle touch.

The Willow tree's arms cling to me,
Just like you used to.
But its not you who won't let go,
Its me.

I'm the Willow Tree.
I can't let go.
My frail arms can't let go.
I am the Willow Tree.
Sorrow lasts through this night
I'll take this piece of you,
and hold for all eternity
For just one second I felt whole... as you flew right through me.

Wow. This came from somewhere deep... I just have that kind of feeling. Forest, I really like this. *clicks 'like'* It's a beautiful poem. Keep up the writing. You write some pretty amazing stuff, you know. I would love to read more and thank you for making me smile even though it's sad.

Hi Emily. Okay, I just changed the formatting a bit. This was so sad... This is sorta like how I feel now...
The wind blows the frail branches
against my bare shoulders.
The small lake's water tickles my toes,
just like you used to.

I have a pen and paper in my hand,
composing those every day poems,
those every day stories,
that you once admired.

Tears slowly fall down my face,
and sit on the bridge of my nose,
becoming calm dew like drops,
but you can't wipe them.

I smile as I remember your laugh,
your smile and beautiful eyes,
your deep soothing voice,
and your gentle touch.

The Willow tree's arms cling to me,
just like you used to.
But it's not you who won't let go,
it's me.

I'm the Willow Tree.
I can't let go.
My frail arms can't let go.
I am the Willow Tree.

Wow, I really like this poem :) I can visualise what you are saying.. I adore the fact that parts of the poem can be related to personal experiences, such as:
'Those every day stories, That you once admired'
As nearly everyone can relate to this feeling.

Keep up the good work :)
