Outcasts?

I was just wondering, if- compared to the rest of your people (or their nature in general)- you would be considered an outcast/ or someone who isn't entirely normal. In or near your age group that is.
For instance, most Arabs/lebanese guys my age are stupid, unfunny, and destined to become a mechanic/labourer. Also they wouldn't touch a book with a 10 foot pole, and they would rather die than be seen in a book store or library, I know because i asked. So in relation to them I would be considered as someone who isn't entirely normal.

So are you someone who isn't entirely normal?
Or am i the only one...gee that would be sad.

I think everyone feels like an outcast at one point in their life.
But if you're talking about whether or not someone feels like they differ from the norm or stereotype... yeah. You're not alone.

I don't know much about Lebanese people... except for my friend Maha who has a strange obsession with Dashboard Confessional. -Scratches head-

I'm the quiet one, and no one is ever completely sure about a quiet one. I know people who are deffinately popular who read a fair bit, and I know people who are popular who are really smart. I know people who are popular who don't read at all, and who fail just about everything. I fit in Ok where I'm known fairly well. Problem is, that's not too many places.

I am much more applied than other people my age.

There are other differences, but that sums it up nicely.

Normal? I don't know about that, nobody is normal because normal can vary right?

I like visiting museums and castles, does that make me an outcast because a lot of people I know give me "looks" when I say that.

I wouldn't say I'm an outcast...I'm a loner. But I do socialise and everything, it's just that I don't know anyone with the same kind of interests as me, other than the purely recreational...ie: drugs and drinking lol - I'm getting better though!! Not nearly as much!
Weird thing is that although all of my friends are doing A levels (I quit, because it seemed like a waste of time - I'm not saying that anyone who does all this and uni etc is wasting their time, don't get me wrong. I used to want to do all that myself. But to be honest it's just not me. If I'm being totally truthful I should probably tell you that I got kicked out of sixth form, for not doing any homework and skiving off lessons. They said there was no point in me being there if I wasn't going to do anything, and actually they were quite right), they aren't actually that interested in much. Which I find odd, because surely if they are at a higher educational level, they should be better read etc than me, I think. But it's always me who ends up looking like the geek lol. Which is fairly ironic, really.
I think that if I was myself 100% of the time with everyone, then I would be a kind of outcast, because I'm not what might be called conventionally normal Not in the slightest.

Many people I come in contact with, know my name, albeit I'm somewhat of an enigma amongst many of my fellow peers. It might be that I am not much of a conformist, or it may be that the things I say or do or think are removed from the 'norm', at least the widespread one, if you get me. However, I am on good terms with all of them that know my name, and with some, closer than the rest(for we all have someone who we are more 'open' to). I agree, I am quiet, and that cripples my chances of really expressing my 'true' self, but at the same time, people can think what they want, and I could really care less. At the very least, I am known (widespread) to love the Lord of the Rings, and to be 'smart', or to be fairer, smarter than those who view me as smart, but still, it is a general term.

I like to be alone most of the time, and a few companions, when I want company, is good enough; I hate crowds.

Depends on the mood really. Most of the time im quite outgoing and want to meet up with new people, but if we dont share the same interests its not much of a realtionship, on the other hand, if we do, we become really close friends really fast. Ive always felt alsone, somehow, een though im sorunded with friends and people, maybe cuz most of them are but shadows of today's humanity. So predictable and transparent almost as if they are reallife NPC's

I wouldn't say that I'm an outcast, no... I've had just about everyone I've ever met tell me that I'm "different", but it's always meant in a good way... I don't tend to hang around with large crowds and I don't seem to mesh with alot of people my age, but I think I chose to be that way...

I can't as I'm an outcast...I have an intimate circle of friends, within a group of two circles of intimate friends in my class. Neither group is considered "outcast" although the other one is considered 'cooler.'

i have thought of myself as an outcast before but now ive come to the conclusion that 'normal' does not exist. if i am quieter than most, the world is going to have to cope with that fact themselves.

I'm deffinately a "who really cares anyway?" person. After watching some year nine friends discuss if a new kid was going to be cool or weird, I decided it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my entire life. Mostly, I just do what I want and don't really care if people think it's weird.

Well said, I know at secondary school people thought i was weird because of how much reading i did, and it took a while for me to fall in with a group of simiar people, but once i did i did have friends. At college it's so much different. Within a week i've met new people who have the same interests and made new friends. It's much easier there, so i am no longer "weird" im just me. No one cares that i was curled up in the canteen with a book, nice feeling. But being classed as weird never bothered me much

I think the majority of my class is really very accepting (the minority however ...). If you're a nice person they'll give you a fair go. And if you can make people laugh you're welcome anywhere (except serious accontant meetings, but who wants to go tot them anyway?)
