Hey, this is going to be a bit of everything, so I hope that you'll keep checking in.

For the pictures with text, I used Picnik to edit them. Some of the coloring effects are just my camera though, while others are effects made on Picnik. I'll be posting my nature photos soon.

Oh, and please don't think I'm conceded because I take photos of myself! I'm really not:) I just love eyes and faces and art, and my own pair of eyes and face works well for spur of the moment pictures.

Also, I have to resize almost all of them since my camera makes them extra-huge sized, so the quality may not be as good as they are on my computer.

This was perfect timing. I didn't know the girl, but it made the picture a lot better in my opinion.

Very nice!! I love your work, well done! Well, onto the review...

For your first picture, very good colours but I really think that if you cropped everything but the eye and text it would be better. Maybe then darken it?

Your second picture - I love it! Inspiring, beautiful colours, beautiful silhouette, the cloud just so - it's brilliant! I can't find anything wrong with it. So very well done!!!

I'm liking this work, and I'll check in again. Keep it up!

Hey silver, I love the both of these!

I especially like the colours on the first picture around the eye and stuff, it's kind of original and captivating. My favourite bit of it though is the positioning of the writing and the font you've used, they're also some very powerful words and an interesting message.

As much as I liked your second one, it doesn't have any originality as the first does. It's a beautiful picture, with just the right light and capture of the landscape, but its just missing that beauty. There's a lot of sunset pictures so perhaps it wasn't the most original concept to start with. The angle with the silhouette though is stunning! You're clearly a talented photographer.

Keep up the good work,
~Ben

Hey Silver!

These are some good pictures.

First: Good colors, font, angle. The only problem I have is that the nose is over-exposed and sort of pulls away my focus. My suggestion is to crop off the bottom (and not the left as it wouldn't look good) until you find yourself looking at the eyes and the words.

Second: Even if it isn't that original, it's a brilliant picture. No complaint.

It's obvious you're very talented. Keep up the good work.
Cheers,
~Lava

Hi there,
Your pics are awesome. The first one is okay-okay but i think the second one rocks. The little urchin running on the street with a sunset background is creative. Keep going. PM me when you come up with something else.....

I'm only going to review your latest two.

The first one is good. Really nice job on the makeup around the eye; that looks really good. And also the "love" works. It keeps the photo from being boring. The thing is, it's very raw.

I think could be really cool if you messed with it a bit. Some editing could turn this into a really neat picture. For fun, I messed with it on Google Picasa and it turned out pretty fun. I won't post it because it's yours, but if I were you, I'd think of downloading some photo editing software. The downloadable programs I use are:

Google Picasa
and
Paint.NET

These are both free and safe, but require Windows XP or newer. Paint.NET takes Windows, but Picasa also works on Mac and Linux. I'm a PC so I don't know how to tell which versions of those Mac and Linux it works on.

The second one has been laid out really nicely. I have no idea how you did it, but it looks great. My only comment is that the quote is about "innocence being blown away", and when I look at the statuette, I see porcelain. Hard, heavy porcelain. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere. If she were holding something else I would like it more.

I'm sorry my review has been so short; I really couldn't find too much about the composition I didn't like. These are really nice photos, you did a great job on them.

Keep it up!

Hey there, Silversun!

I have to say these are all kind of strange and unique, but I like them. The only one I dislike is the first one, because the pink and such just makes the person look like they have a disease or something. o.o

I do like the other ones though! It can be difficult to do stuff like photoshop them in some of the ways you did, but you did really good. =]

Keep it up.

You know, none of these really stuck out, to me, except for the Love one, so maybe I'll save that one for last!

I think that everything is over-exposed in the first shot, and I am really not a fan of words in pictures unless it is telling us something that we can't get from the photograph (and, in this case, I think we would be more powerfully moved by the photo alone). I think your concept is good and the choice of font is interesting, however.

The second one is very pretty. I think you did well ensuring that the child was off-center (instead of catching her right beneath the focal point of your photograph). The horizon isn't quite straight, but that can be easily mitigated.

Skipping number three for now.

Four is my least favorite, I think. But don't think that by any means I am saying that all of your photographs aren't nice! It just doesn't seem cohesive to me. The message and the picture...eh...they don't really fit.

Last one...I've seen a lot of photographs like this. The exposure and the perspective are nice, and it's a well-taken photograph. It's just not as interesting as...

...the third one!!! The soft lighting you have here is absolutely perfect, and the shadows and the makeup. AND you wrote the word on yourself, which makes it so much more real! How cool is that? Very, very nice.

=)
