(( This is an old poem of mine that I found. It's a religious one, so please, if you do not like religious works, do not criticize. ))

I thought I was alone in this wasteland.
I thought that sorrow would keep me.
One day, I broke free from the clitches of depression.
He had found me.
I stared into his caring eyes.
"This is the man who will save us in the end." I thought.
This man who stands before me is the Lord.
He pulled me out of the pool of tears.
He held me in his loving arms.
"I am the Lord" he said softly.
"I shall save you my child."
A comforting warm sensation came over me.
I knew at that moment,
I would try my hardest to go home.
To heaven,
with the lord.
To be home,
is the truest happiness.
But first,
I must do my duties on this planet.
I grew cheerful and it reflects to everyone I meet.
I shall try to help those in need.
Maybe I can help you too.
I shall try my hardest to bring you with me,
for that is what the lord wants.
As time goes, the ice melts and flowers blossom once more.

Hi,

I happen to like religious topics; I find it quite interesting.
There is a lot going on in this poem. I dont think I could ever put a poem of religion "down"- I just don't have the heart but I'll give you some constructed literary critizism if you so desire... okay well,
I will anyways without your approval.

I just don't know what to think about the narrative with the lord, does it really need to be there? Must it be a metaphor or an actual expereience I am not sure and that is what stumps me here. Is it merely a combination of your imagination with your intuition, is it faith that the lord gave you because you allowed him into your life? To me it drowns the poem, more, somehow... adding a lot of ambiguity. You have to be careful how you word poems of religion, otherwise you will be the only one who will understand poem, truly- and it seems since you shared it, you do want others to hear what you have read, know what you know and feel etx.
Also I don't care for the "maybe I can help you too" part.
Addressing the audience like that just didn't feel right.
I have a very good relationship with God and you had me looking behind my shoulders thinking 'what' really "how"? because she heard the lord talk and I didn't?
Anyways I am sure you get my drift. I like the idea, not so much the poem itself. If it was constructed in a different perspective and form maybe I would absolutely love it. I am sure this poem means a lot to you and I think that is good.
Ttyl!

I just re-read and realized you said this was an "Old Poem". So I guess that can justify a lot of things. The question becomes how old ? If you want honest proper critizism its better to post things you have recently just written.
