Someone to Love

What morals have I?
What values do I keep?
Betrayal of ourselves and mind-
can I be healed while I weep?
I look into the horizon
and I see nothing but fear.
I try to keep my head above water,
a die hard fight for every tear.
Someone is there,
holding there arms up high.
They are there to catch me,
will they be there until I die?
I wish to love this person
with every piece of my heart.
To give trust and respect is important;
the fundamentals of a new start.
How do I prove to him
that my morals and values are true?
I love him with all I have,
even though it's something new.
He, who is respectful, smart, and nice.
My special person, my heart, my soul mate.
He deserves someone who's equal with him,
yet his path lead him to the desire of fate.
Though time has been quite short,
I put my life in Gods hands above.
Everything happens for a reason - life's lesson.
This new person is the one I am meant to love.
Today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday

Hey I'm Amie and I will be your reviewer today...

Lets get started then.

Betrayal of ourselves and mind
- I like the opening and the part that comes after this quote but the
ourselves and mind
part does not work. It completely stopped the flow when i read it and you had established a nice flow at the beginning.

I look into the horizon
I think that this would sound better as
I look to the horizon

a die hard for every tear
Though i like this phrase on its own as i had to read it a couple of times to actually make sense of it, and again it completely stops the flow of the poem.

holding there arms
should be
their
not
there

the fundamentals of a new start
Fundamentals here feels too forced and contrived i think you should change it to something else, maybe something along the lines of
the very crux of a new start

I love him with all I have,
even though it's something new.
Everything after this feels wrong. Almost as though you've quickly forced this last bit out and the rest of the poem is really good apart from a few nitpicks but i definitely think the entire last part needs revising.

But like i said, i do like the poem and i would like to read it again if you do revise it and edit it :)

This poem speaks to me. :) I love how its not distant from people, how it relates with people on so many different levels. Awesome job! I love it! :)
Not with things as they are, but with things as they might be and ought to be.
