**I REWROTE ALL OF THIS**
Ugh, why do I have first period p.e.?!
"I want to see you sweating! Your chest should almost be touching the ground!" says Mrs. Haayes.
Go suck it Mrs.Haayes, I think to myself.
Mrs.Haayes is one of the weirdest P.E. teachers...ever. And that's not surprising, have you ever realized who's the one always being fired from a school for something illegal, like being in possession of child pornography, or having sexual relations with an underage student? It's always the P.E. teachers.....
Anyways, she's a lesbian, a lesbian P.E. teacher. How weird?! And she's still aloud to be in the girl's locker room. I mean I'm not saying that I disagree with the fact that she's a lesbian or anything, but she's in the same room with us when we're naked so it's really-
"Lewis! Front and center."
God I wish she wouldn't say my last name, my name is freaking Taylor.
I jump up from my push up position, and walk over to her. I feel my stomach start to churn and feel overly full. I get that nasty taste of blood in my mouth, signaling I'm at sometime going to throw up. I put one hand on my forehead to wipe the cold sweat off, and the other hand across my stomach. Ugh, not again!
"Yes, Mrs. Haayes?"
"You're average grade in this class is a C. That's not good enough."
"A C? How?! I do everything I'm supposed to! I run and finish before everyone, I do what I need to do in my activity. What is it I'm doing wrong?!"
I feel my stomach become uneasy as blood pressure goes up and my anger rises. It starts to slowly rise through my intestines. Oh god! I think to myself.
I look around and look for the nearest garbage can....across the field, great. I realize as I look back at Mrs. Haayes that she's still talking to me.
"-the bottom line is you can't do push-ups correctly. You have weak ankles and a weak back. If you would do your homework everyday, you wouldn't have this problem. And the same with sit-ups-"
I feel the throw up make it's way closer and closer to my mouth, coming faster than I thought it was. I'll never make it to the trash can.
"-it's not hard. All you have to do is sit UP, and then lay back DOWN. shouldn't be a problem for most of you teenagers nowadays, you're on your back most of the time anyways."
Oh,no she didn't just say that. Uh oh, here it-
BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!
I feel the nasty taste of the acid fill into my nose and my mouth from the throw up. I look at Mrs. Haayes, trying so hard not to laugh in her face. Suck on that.
I see the hatred come put of her eyes as she wipes it off her face. "Go, to 102-NOW!" she says. As I walk away I see the other students snickering behind her back.
The stomach pain brings me back to reality. This is the third time this week I've gone to Nurse Adell.
"Again?" she asks me, as I walk into her office.
"Yeah, this time, all over Mrs. Haayes."
She snickers to as she gets up from her seat and walks over to the white cabinet and starts grabbing things.
"Sweetheart, have you, uuuum, had sex in the last month or so? .... Recently?
I look at her, but don't say anything.
"This is the third time this week you've been sick, and then fine afterwards. Have you ever thought of the possibility of being pregnant?"
Not until now, I think to myself. But c'mon, me, pregnant?
"Here. Take this. Just to see if you're pregnant or not." she sticks out her arm, handing me a pregnancy test. "Okay." I say to her.
*. *. *. *.
By the time sixth period came around, I had forgotten all about the incident this morning with Mrs. Haayes and Nurse Adell. But word had gotten around that I threw up on her.
"Hey."
Startled, I turn around and see Anthony.
"Jeez! Anthony, you freaked me out." I say, slamming my locker shut.
"Sorry." he says, putting one hand on the back of my head, pulling me in towards him so he can kiss me on the forehead. "Do you need a ride home today?"
"No. I'm going over to Laynie's."
He sighs, and says,"You guys are always together."
"I know, babe. But its convenient for our parents."
"But don't you get tired of being together all the time?"
"Sometimes. But best friends stay together anyways." I look past his shoulder. I see Laynie walking towards me, keys in hand with a giant smile on her face. Typical Laynie.
"Look, I'll call you or something later alright."
"Fine. I'll talk to you later"
Anthony goes in to try to kiss me, but then I remember-.
"I threw up this morning."
Before he could get to my lips, he moved his to my forehead.
"I love you" he says to me.
"I love you too babe."
"Hiiiiiiiiii.!!" says Laynie.
Me and Anthony both look up at her.
"Hi Laynie," we say at the same time.
She beams at him and looks back at me.
"Ready to go?" she asks.
"Yeah. Let's go"
*. *. *. *.
"Laynie?" I say, looking out the window of her BMW.
"Hmm?"
"You know how today I threw up on Mrs. Haayes?"
"Hahaha. Yup! Everyone was talking about it fourth period. Why? What's up?"
I look down and start to zip and unzip the zipper on my jacket. I press my head against her window.
"Well...Nurse Adell became...concerned, shall we say, because it's been the third time I've been in 102 because I've been throwing up."
As we pull up to a red light, she looks over at me, one hand extended on the stearing wheel.
"And she gave me this." I pull out the pregnancy test Nurse Adell gave me, and show it to her. Laynie's eyes narrow as she reads the label on the outer package.
"Oh-my-gosh! Could it be possible? Could you really be pregnant?"
I feel cold, nervous sweat start to form around my face and chest. I let out a deep sigh and say,"yes."
Laynie slams on her brakes, hard, as we pull up to another light.
"You have some explaining to do," she says to me. I knew this was coming, I say to myself, fuck.
"Well... This weekend...me and Anthony were together, and he said he wanted to be together, forever. And he started to kiss me and stuff-."
"Are you'd seriously serious?" she asks, cutting me off," that's like the traditional pick up line for guys. It's in every story about every girl getting pregnant. You of all people should know that. In his world, he's saying 'I love you until we're done fucking, or until I get you pregnant."
I start to get frustrated with her. I thought she would help, I thought to myself.
"Can you just stop lecturing me for like sixty seconds, please?! He forced himself on me. I said no! I know better than that."
She looked taken aback as we pulled into her driveway. She didn't say anything until we got inside of her house.
"Look, Taylor. I don't want you think that I think your stupid or something. But, gosh, you're only 17. Look, I get you some water, and then you go pee on that stick, okay?
Somewhat satisfied, I follow her into the kitchen, chug the water, and then go into her bathroom.
*. *. *. *.
I pace back and forth in the restroom, waiting for the test to decide my future.
I look up at the ceiling as I let my body slide down the wall, so I'm sitting on the ground. I close my eyes as I realize I was holding my breathe. I take in a deep breathe and then exhale slowly, covering my eyes with my hands.
After I let a few minutes go by, I get up slowly and walk back to the sink, counting each step I took.
This is it, I tell myself.
I feel myself go cold and heavy as I pick it up. My hands shake as I consider flipping it over.
Just get it over with, my mind tells me.
Positive.
This can't be real. I can't be..be pregnant.
"Laynie!", I call. I fidget with the lock on the door, my hands still shaking. I see her sitting on the floor in her bedroom.
"Yeah?!" she calls back.
I flip the pregnancy test so the big pink plus sign was facing her.
The smile on her face disappears and her face goes as white as snow.
She looks up at me, her eyes wide. "Positive?" she whispers.
"Positive." I whisper back.
"Well you know what this means right?"
"I have no idea how I'm going to tell my parents or-"
"You have to name the baby after me."
I look at her in the eyes, taken aback. My eyes start to fill with tears as I feel her understanding and support.
"Come here," she says to me," everything's going to be okay hon, alright? We'll go to Planned Parenthood, and they'll help you, without having to tell your parents anything. Everything's going to be okay, I promise."
I look back into her eyes as she hugs me , and I cry for the first time in months, somehow hoping she's right.
