With blue braids tipped foam-green
and skin the shine of the sea
she glides between the caps and waves.

in a moment of sponteanity
she leaps and flaps her sparkle-scaled
fish tail, where two legs should be.

fooled many a sailor and captain of neptune
with a shimmer or wink of an eye.

and if you follow the wailing-whale
in the deep, her coral castle will appear
a mansion of twisted, fanciful colors where only
she, the Sea-Nymph dwells.

let her beauty not fool you or the corner of her kiss
for I know from fated experience she's still a fish.

I like this one :D

You misspelt Captain, but it's flawless in every other sense. The poem rolls right off the tongue, and the descriptions are vivid and easy to manifest. And the way you end it is perfect.

I caught a typo in the 1st line of the 2 stanza, it should be spontaneity, but I agree with Brian it was easy to read and the ending made me laugh.

nice work.

You couldn't parallel park if your life depended on it, so it's unfortunate that, due to the alien invaders' strange emphasis on motorist competence, that's exactly what it comes down to.
