For the ones who don't like to read things too long:
Basically, this storybook will be a collection of abandoned stories ideas, and having the main characters of those stories come together and create a new ending for themselves. For more info, read the whole thing. :P

Do you ever wonder, writers, where all of your ideas go, when you stop writing them? When you abandon them, they will be like a bird without feather, unable to fly. And so they will be discarded, to a realm of oblivion. That, will be what this storybook is about. You will write about an idea that you had stop writing about, an incomplete story that you never plan to finish. All of those ideas will come together in the realm of oblivion.

And your main characters, the Forgotten Ones, will be left alone, lost and afraid, since they do not know what will happen next, they do not know what to do now, when their conflict have not been solve, their story is unfinished. What will happen to them? Will they find their final ending of their story? Or will they just wandering in the realm of oblivion forever until they fade away and become a part of the realm itself? Well, let us write and find out.

This story book is simple and easy:
1.Joining is easy and can be done any time, since this realm of oblivion is like an trash can of ideas, and there will always be new trash from time to time, isn't it? Simply started by the scene of you, the writer, deciding to stop your story, then to your main character(s) arrive into the oblivion realm by walking through a crack in their story, at the scene where the writer decide to stop.

2.Quitting? Easy too. Just put a last scene of your main characters finally give up, or accept that they are nothing more than an incomplete product, and they finally faded to oblivion forever. Or maybe a happier ending: either they finally complete their story with the help of others, and depart from the world of oblivion with a smile, or their author decided to continue the story, and they will be coming back to their normal story world without any memory about the realm of oblivion.

But it is not without rule:

3.One story per person, and if possible, one main character, so choose your story well.
This story MUST be your ORIGINAL story, no fanfic allowed. You can include the story’s side characters, if you have them in your original story, but those side character will not be able to come out of the story world, they will not knowing about the crack or able to see it, but they will be able to interact with other characters from other stories inside their world.

4.I don't want to restrict the length of the posts, because I know there are times that you can't write very long...however, try your best to reach 100+ words a post.

5.Your story is just one of many other stories that arrived to this realm. All of them suffer the same fate, all of them will be equal. All of the special power, authority, or anything else that your main characters have, will only stay inside the world of your story. Outside of it, when your characters walk out of the crack, they will lose all of those privileges and powers, and be just like any other Forgotten Ones. Lets say your main character can breath fire, that is his special ability that no one in his story have. At the moment he walk outside of his story world, he won't be able to breath fire anymore, but can only do what his people can do. This does not include an ability he gain from training, however. If he learned martial art, he could still use it outside of his world. If he learn magic and his people can do it too, then he can use magic outside of his world. But this will have to comply with rule 6.

6.Your main characters will be able to interact each other, and even able to entering each others' story world if they are allowed to. Upon entering, they will be granted anything that is the norm of that story world and be stripped off all of the special power they might have from their world. For example: A character living in a modern world without magic, walking into a fantasy world where magic is a normal thing for the people there, will immediately be granted with magic power(he will need to learn how to use that, though), but his modern weapons will not working there. He will also be bound to any other rule of the world that might apply there. Gravity might go a different way in that fantasy story world, for example, and so that character will also have to move and doing things the way the people in that story do.

7.Your main character became their own boss when they arrive here, but that does not means they are the god of their own story. They will still be abide by the law and rules that have been imposed on them by the writers in their story world. However, they can use the help of other characters and they can change themselves. If your character is a normal school boy who tends to be bullied, for example, he can get rid of the bullying by either learning martial art from another story and fight back, or get another, bigger, stronger character in other story to help him. This, however, must complies to rule 6 and 5: you cannot have your school boy character learning magic from another story world and blast those bullies away, or get a fairy to bless him with strength, because those magic is not the norm of his world, and the fairy blessing will disappear outside of the fairy tale world.

8.The connection between their world, the realm of oblivion, is an complete white world with absolutely nothing, but cracks - opening to the story worlds, this is something you cannot change. When a story arrive, there will be new cracks appear. And when a story depart from the realm, those cracks will either fade away if the main characters decide to accept their fate, or will be rebuilt and closed, the sign of a happier ending. Any characters that are not a part of the story, but inside it when it is disappearing will be return to the realm of oblivion.

9.The characters cannot die outside of their story world. They will either finish their story or accept their fate to be gone from that world. When they die in their story world, their deaths will be considered the ending of the story. When a character is killed inside a story world that he or she not belong to, that character will be thrown back to the realm of oblivion, and is restricted from returning to the same world for an amount of time. In the realm of oblivion, no harm can be done upon them.

10.Write with a 3rd person point of view to avoid confusion.

Rain’s fingers danced upon the keyboards. “ Raymond rolled them up one by one and carefully placed them back to the puzzle box.”- Those words flowed out on the laptop screen in the rhythmical tapping sounds. Then suddenly, silence. The cursor blinking impatiently before Rain’s weary eyes, waiting to inserting more letters upon the white screen, half filled with words. He don’t know what to write next. After a while, a few words was starting to be typed, and the cursor skipped forward in joy, just to be instantly dragging backward with a chain of tapping upon the backspace key. Another moment of prolong silence continued. Rain sighed. He cannot keep on writing this anymore. Closing the word processor, he then right clicked on the file he had been working on so long, then chose “delete file”. A pop up questioned him for his final decision: “Do you really want to delete this file?” Rain moved his pointer over the option “Yes.” Click.

Raymond was in his office, walking around in the small room and mumbling something in his mouth. His eyes darting between layers of papers filled with cryptic languages, containing a riddle he could not solve. “What is this?” Raymond frustratingly muttered, staring at the strange figures entwined into each other upon the papers.

Then the hissing sound of his coffee pot boiling snap him back to reality, the pungent smell of black coffee filled the room. He strode across his messy room, carefully step over the puzzle box he had solved earlier. “Puzzles in puzzles. Great.” Raymond grumbled as he poured his hot coffee into a mug , remembering the moment he solved the large metal puzzle box, just to find out bunch of papers with cryptic writing all over them.
Shaking his head in disappointment, he opened the window to get some fresh air. Just then, his instinct sparked. He could felt the gaze of someone stalked upon him. Casually taking his mug out of the window, he glanced across the area while sipping coffee from it, searching for a suspicious character. His eyes stopped at a man reading a newspaper on a bench across the street.

“Now...what kind of man would walk so far to get a newspaper from the store three blocks away and sit right in front of my apartment to read?...” Raymond took another sip of bitter coffee from his mug then stared at the man, waiting for a reaction.

A few seconds later, the man suddenly changed his sitting position. A faint smile parted on the old detective’s lips as he kept on preying upon his target. As Raymond keep focusing on him, the man on the bench continued to read the newspaper, but starting to flips pages randomly at irregular interval. But the mind game had not stopped yet. Raymond remained watching upon the suspicious man fearlessly and mockingly, until that man suddenly rolled up his newspaper and walked away, pretending that he did not notice Raymond. Bingo.

Raymond turned back to his room and closed his window. “So I was being followed,” he sighed while putting down the empty mug on his desk, “and most probably because of these papers.” Raymond rolled them up one by one and carefully placed them back to the puzzle box.

“Now what?” he suddenly found himself asking that question. And strangely, for the first time, Raymond did not know what to do next. “Now what? Now what? Now what?” The detective repeating the words again and again, but he could not find out an answer.

“What am I doing here?” A new question suddenly raise in his mind.”What is going on?”- another question. “Why can’t I think of anything?” The confused detective was starting to panic. “What is the meaning of this?” Raymond held his head, sweating.

Then a sound of glass shattering filled his ear.

He looked up, and saw the wall of his office had been torn open. No. More like the space before the wall had broken into million pieces, forming a crack in the air. And on the other side of that crack is a bright, white world that extends as far as Raymond can see. Without a thought, he stepped outside of the crack.

Izumi put down his pencil tired of all the writing he had done. He picked up his paper and read over his writing. As his eyes scanned the letters, he noticed little detail and horrible grammar. He almost scribbled out the whole thing when he said to himself, "Ah, I might as well continue and edit later." He picked up his pencil again and set his hand down ready to write, when all of a sudden his mind went blank. "Ok," said Izumi trying to calm himself, "What happens next?"
What he got, was writers block. He sat at his desk, mind blank, staring at the wall as the dim light above him flickered. "I can't do this." He crumpled the paper into a little wad and threw it into his trash can...

Makoto Hiroshi sat still inspecting his rifle as his transport roared down the small dirt road. The smell of burning fuel and rubber seats filled his nostrils and darkness filled his eye sight. He pulled a clip out of his gun and examined it trying to distract himself from the stress. He was about to go on a mission, classified almost as a suicide. He was to break into one of the Vutak's outposts and take it over with only five other men. "Fox," called one of his comrades, "Do you think your ready?" Hiroshi's codename was fox, in case of a capture on the battlefield. He looked up to see his only friend, Lark. "I think so, but I don't know about this one," he calmly replied. Lark was the last one to join the team. He was sometimes called the rookie, but Fox always called him by his name. He started to lower his head back down to his gun when the earth shook. Immediately, the APC was getting thrown around in the dirt. With his trained reflexes, Fox strapped on his seat belt as the vehicle turned over. His head jerked violently, colliding with the pads on the sides of his seat. Fox didn't know what exactly was going on, but he was pretty sure they were rolling. At one point, he opened his eyes for a second to see Lark begging for mercy. After what felt like ten minutes, the APC slowly came to a stop on its side. "Lark! We need to get out of here!" yelled Fox over the sounds of the pouring rain from outside. As he said that, he noticed Larks stomach bleeding furiously. A small part of a handle stuck out of his stomach causing the injury. He unstrapped his seat belt and landed hard on the metal plating. He inched his way towards Lark with all of his remaining strength and unbuckled him. He heard the sounds of other vehicles approaching as he pulled himself out of the crash. With Lark strapped on his back, he slowly walked out of the road and into the nearby forest. Flashlights searched for survivors while he dove into the bushes. There's no way out... Fox thought to himself. Suddenly, a light started to shine beneath him. The ground broke apart into many pieces, ready to engulf him. Fox closed his eyes as he let his body limply fall into the crack...

i agree. I like this idea, but I suggest changing it a bit. How about having everyone's lost characters come together to form a real storybook? It'll be a real motley crew, but the results will be great, I'm sure.
Honey, you should see me in a crown.

I guess so...seem like having each character having their own story being complete might be too difficult. Maybe a story book for all of them would be the best idea. Lets go with it then :)

I would also delete some of the rules. There are to many to handle. At least simplify them.

Well, The rules are to preventing logical conflicts when merging stories together and retaining equalities between the characters. Removing some might cause unforeseeable problems.
