Hello

Ok, so I'm totally knew to all of this but from what i have seen so far i think it's brilliant. I have never shared my work before excepting the work I have done specifically for my studies, but the book i have been writing since last summer has pretty much been under-wraps until now. I guess I'm one of those people who has confidence issues and I'm afraid that everyone else will think what I have written is a complete fail. That doesn't go to say that I don't welcome constructive criticism because i absolutely do. I love having the opportunity to better my work!

The basics about me are that my name is Amie, I am 21 years young, and I'm currently at university doing a degree in Creative Writing and Drama & Theatre Studies. I live in Liverpool, England

I added my first post last night called Zenith. I'm nervously awaiting my first feedback and I am also quite excited about it.

Anyway, it's really good to be here and I look forward to meeting fellow writers and reviewers

Another great thing about this community is, if you post your work, you always have the right help to make it better if the reviews aren't so good and, no one knows who you are. Hi, Amie! I love your name.

I was the same way when I first joined, and I still am! I've got some confidence issues when it comes to something like writing. However, YWS has a variety of awesome reviewers. I remember the first couple things I posted. I sat at the site, religiously checking my thread(s) for reviews. In the end, I had some great advice! It's worth the nervous waiting. Trust me. ;D

A degree in Creative Writing sounds cool, and definitely the theater degree too. I think the theater one is fascinating. I have some friends who are going into theater, and they're stories are so fun to listen to.

Ah yes. Isn't it always funto have confidence issues. I used to have them all the time, then I realized that there was no way that I could make my books good unless I let people look at them an tell me what they thought. You just gotta throw it out there before you think about it and then you realize it isn't as bad... that is until you have to throw it out again. Yikes.

Anyway, welcome, I hope you really come to enjoy this place as I have so far... even though this is my first actual post... I should get to work on that...

My day today has been pretty good, I just read my first review of my first post which was awesome, feeling pretty lazy at the minute but I have a lot of Uni work to be getting on with so that’s my plan for today.

My favourite genre to write is fantasy fiction with a bit of romance mixed in…

I’ve never tried vegemite or peanut butter so I don’t know

Hmm, I’d say dictionary because I’m pretty good at coming up with words but sometimes I forget their meanings so have to check. I always put them in the right context but I like to double check ☺

I’d say my favourite genre to read is probably the same as my favourite to write. I like the twilight series and Harry Potter – though I know some people loathe the twilight series but I enjoyed reading them.

And Shauni…I’ll be sure to check out the chat sometime this week, I’d love to get to know people on here and read their work. I have already been reading some, and some people write beautifully! I’ll probably be posting more work this week too, I’m so excited about sharing it all.

Kamorama, I get what you mean – I could spend my entire life pruning my work myself but having someone look at it from a different perspective is a whole other cup of tea!
