*If anyone of you want to go on a mission, feel free, just don't go to Iraq and kill Osama Bin Laden.*

I looked at the GPS screen on my wrist. According to it we landed fifty miles away from the base. If we ran as fast as we could we would reach there in under two hours. I called Rena and Heather to my side and pulled out a paper map, laying it on the ground.

"Alright, this is where we are," I said pointing to an area about fifty miles south of the base. I moved my finger to a giant rectangle surrounded by a forest. "This is the base, and somewhere inside it there is rumored to be nuclear explosives. If we confirm it, I have a reel of detcord." I pulled out what looked to be a reel of normal wire. "We'll wrap this around the bomb and set a twenty-four hour fuse. After that, we have to get the hell out of here. Fast."

"Won't the fuse give away the location of the detcord," Rena asked.

"Not this kind: it's soundless, smokeless, and it won't give off a light." I put the reel of detcord back into the bag, along with the map. "You ready?"

"Sure," Rena and Heather replied as one.

"Good, let's go."

Rena

We ran in silence for a while. There was nothing to say, nothing worth mentioning. But before long we were at the base.

"You know the plan?" Lero whipser-asked.

We nodded in unisin. We crept into the base silently. I knew my job, it was a brutal one, but not something unfamilar to me.

Empty the building of people.

If they were prisoners, or inncoent, I get them out of the building. My orders were simple, kill the rest. I loaded my pistol and crept along the halls. I soon spot officer one.

He calls out, "Who is there?" in Korean.

I step out from behind the wall and shot him with the new soundless pistol the Doc designed just for me. (He was always coming up with new inventions for me.) I hit him square in the forehead and he crumples to the floor. Six more step out from behind a door. I swear loudly. I had only five bullets in the gun.

"Who are you?" One asks in Korean.

"Not a friend of yours." I reply, then take out my gun and use the five bullets. The one I didn't kill starts rapid firing at me, but my deer senses help me avoid each bullet. Before long I get close enough to grab his head and snap his neck. I leave him with the others on the floor.

I walk through the reamining halls, and only have to kill one more. Then I come across a small room, wit hthe door wide open.

Two men are inside. A korean offical and a man being tourtured, he is american.I dont leave the korean time to speak. I attack imediately. But he pulls out his gun, and shots my arm before I have time to brreak his neck. I stumble back, then knock him onto the floor with a kick and use the heel of my shoe to stab through his neck. Then I colapse onto the floor.

I am somewhat aware of the American getting up. Then I fade into darkness. What I don't know is that the american has picked me up and is carrying me through the halls, to the voices at the end of it, where Heather and Lero are. He walks into the room, and sets me down on the ground.

"Is she with you?" He asks.

"Yes, what happened?" Heather asks him.

"A officer, who was trying to get information out of me, shot her in the arm. She had already killed off seven other guards. I watched her do it. But she needs medical attention, now."

"Who are you?" Lero asked.

"Jadin Thompson, sir."

Heather and Lero got up from where they were working, and they all ran back to the plane. The two had to run at human speed, for Jadin's sake. But Lero carried me, to make it easier on Jadin. Eventually we were on the plane back to America.

Damien

So far, the program was going well for him. His speed, coupled with his other abilities, had been more than enough to excel in the paintball exercise, and he'd managed to take out two other recruits on the opposing team. At the end, one of the supervising scientists called him over. Brushing off his clothing and adjusting his beret, Damien did so.

"Trooper Finch." The man said. "Follow me, you're to be assigned a mission." Not even giving Damien time to ask what was happening, he swiped his key card beside one of the entrances back into the base and set off at a brisk pace down the hall, white coat swishing behind him.

Upon reaching the briefing room, he found two of the others already there. One short woman who didn't look like she wanted to be there at all, and one man with a blue tinge to his skin. Ah, Damien thought, The scientist who volunteered.

One of the project leaders, a colonel who hadn't been injected, tapped a wide screen with a map on it. It displayed the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. "As you might know," The colonel said, "This is the area in which the Taliban has remained in hiding for some time now. It has been virtually impossible to either gather significant intelligence or plan an operation with a likely success rate of above fifty percent."

He tapped a section of the screen twice, zooming in on it. "This is one of the valleys in the tribal region. An informant from that tribe met with one of our men in Quetta, and fingered the location of one of the Taliban training camps for us. Clearly, that's where you three come in." The colonel gave each of them a meaningful look. "The camp is situated mainly in a network of caves. All the you need to do is get close enough to plant an infra-red beacon. That will tell our jets where to fire."

The blue scientist opened his mouth, as if to explain he was no soldier, but the colonel held up a hand. "Stealth is the priority here, mister Trier. Your bioluminescence will be highly useful in that respect. Your companions will be providing security and reconnaissance. Report to the landing area in three hours. Dismissed."

While Rena headed out to clear the building, Heather and I went to confirm the nuclear bombs. We soon found ourselves on a railing, standing over a giant underground warehouse. On the ground were at least a dozen nuclear warheads. I gently poked, Heather on the shoulder and mouthed, I'll get that half, and you get the other. She nodded in acknowledgment.

I crept forward my socom silenced. My first shot nailed the first soldier in the head, then on the second soldier, I quickly disarmed and dispatched before he made a noise. When I made it to the other end of the warehouse, I had taken out ten guards. Heather met me in the middle after she had gotten rid of the last guard.

I threw her the unraveling detcord and together we wrapped it around the bombs. As we wrapped the last of the detcord on the last bomb, I hooked up the fuse and lit it. "Now we get the hell out."

When we got out we meet up with Jadin and Rena. We left the building acquired a vehicle and made it to South Korea in twenty-three hours. When we were halfway across the Pacific, we nearly wrecked into the pacific because of an EMP. Our mission was successful.

I'll get that half, and you get the other. Lethero mouthed to her. Heather nodded, splitting away from him. Spotting the first guard, she raised her weapon and shot him in the back, watching him fall down. Distracted, she didn't notice another guard sneaking up on her until he had knocked her down, hitting her in the jaw with the butt of his gun. Heather raised her gun, pulling the trigger and shooting him in the throat. Smiling slightly, she stood up quickly and shot down a few more guards before running around and meeting up with Lethero again. Together, they wrapped the bomb and lit it before fleeing, soon meeting up with Rena and another man. Her jaw would be sore and bruised slightly the next day, but she wasn't as badly injured as Rena.

"We have to hurry." Heather said, interrupting Lethero and the man, who were talking about what happened to Rena. Nodding, Lethero picked up Rena and they began to run, keeping a slower pace for the man.

If he wasn't here, we could get out much quicker.

She thought, scowling lightly. They continued to run awhile before taking a vehicle the rest of the way, finally boarding a plane and getting partially across the ocean before the bomb exploded.

Jane

It was rather surprising, really, that Jane had been assigned a mission after performing so terribly. She couldn't possibly understand it. Maybe they just wanted her dead as quickly as possible?

"Dismissed," the colonol instructed.

The two guys who were also chosen for the mission walked out of the room. Jane ran to catch up with them. "Hey," she called. "So what are you guys? Sorry, but I'd like to know what I'm working with."

All I could feel was a blistering pain in my arm. The Doc talked to me, and I could make out his words, but the only answers I could give were slight tilts of my head to mean yes or no.

"I think the bullet might have been poisned." The Doc said to me. I couldn't repond. What would this mean?

"We have taken the bullet out, thankfully, but the venom might still be spreading. You have two options. You could die, whitch wouldn't be very good, or we good insert some snake venom into your bloodsteam. It would kill the poison, but it would be very painful. will you let me use the snake venom?"

I nodd. I feel a needle in my arm. For the next hour I lie in blistering pain. But it wasn't half as bad as the transformation. Eventually I wake up. Everything I see is very...defined.

"My vision is diffrent. It is sharper." I tell the Doc.

"I had a feeling it would be. The venom plus the poison would highten some of your senses, those hiegtened would be smell, sight and hearing. Think of it as a sort of bonus to the original injection. But are you feeling alright?"

"Great, actually. thanks Doc. I owe you one." I get up from the table and go to find Lero. He finds me first.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

"Actually, better than ever. The venom he used to reverse the poison heightened a few of my senses."

"Oh, that is awesome... How are you feeling, dizzy at all?"

"Fine, but where is Jadin?"

"He went back home to his family." I nodd slowly.

"And how are the others doing?"

"Good, most of them. All but one."

"Who?"

"Jane."

"I'll see to her," I replied. "A bear may be a not so fast animal, but they are still dangerous in their own way. A pack of wolves wouldn't try to take on a full-grown bear, even though they are faster."

I walked away and into the main area of the base where everyone was either training or preparing to go on missions. The octopus boy was preparing to go on a scientific expedition that needed an armed military guard was preparing by trying special paints that disguised his skin color. Heather was resting from our last mission in the commons. When I found Jane, she was in the treadmill room running as fast as she could. I glanced at the speed and saw that she had reached twenty-nine miles an hour, but that she had only been running for half-an-hour, and by the looks of it, she was quickly tiring. I could tell she had changed since she first came because her body was bulkier, and she was a few inches taller.

Finally she slowed to a walk, and got off, gasping for air. "You did, good, Jane," I said before she walked out. "I did not expect you to run long, but you did go fast. Your new body is not made for speed though, but for strength. You can probably lift four times as much as any of us, and a single blow could probably kill a person with a single blow to the head."

"But how does that help on a mission, sir?" she asked. "They'll probably hear me coming from a mile away. Bears aren't graceful, plus I wanted a flying animal. Not a brute."

"Well, the way I see it you have two choices: deal with it, or we could put a flying an animal's DNA in you. The only problem is, we don't know what it would do with your body. As you can see, one set of DNA changes you a lot. As far as we know, another set of DNA in your body will kill you are change you to something far from human. Your choice."

"I will think about it, sir."

"Oh and tomorrow, I will have a scientist set up a special punching bag, I want to test your strength. Now get going."

Heather sat in the commons room, somewhat bored. She could hear other recruits talking and could even hear the very distant voice of Lethero as he talked to a girl who got a bear injection. Sighing, she covered her ears a moment, trying to block out all the sounds of machines and discussions.

Giving up, she stood up and began to walk around. She neared where Lethero was training with the bear, and veered away, not wanting to disturb them as they worked.

When will we do another mission?

She wondered, turning to walk back to the commons room once more.

Jane

The thought of getting another dose of DNA wasn't exactly pleasant. The first round was killer painful, and with possible death the second time around? Jane was disappointed with what she got stuck with, but not enough to risk death.

And she hadn't known so much about the strength of bears. Well, of course she had known they were strong but she hadn't known exactly how strong she could possibly be. Maybe that would be nice.

She guessed she would find out tomorrow exactly how strong when she got into her specialized testing. Specialized. Testing just for her. Maybe that would be okay.

The next day Lethero took Jane to a room that was empty except for one large punching bag mechanism.

"So have you thought about the additional DNA?" Lethero asked when he retrieved Jane.

"Yes, sir," Jane said. "I don't want it."

"You sure?"

"Positive, sir," Jane insisted.

"Let's test your strength," Lethero said, pointing toward the punching bag. "Go at that punching bag as hard as you can."

Jane nodded and ran at the bag - though not at any exceptional speed - and threw all her weight into her right arm as she threw a punch. The punching bag tore from its metal mechanical holdings and flew across the room.

Jane turned to Lethero. "That alright, sir?"

I walk amoungst the trainees, happy to be making almost all positive reports. I walk up to a large tank where water is being forced almost onehundred miles an hour at Lars, the squid boy.

When he sees me he comes above the water.

"How are you feeling?" I ask him.

He takes a deep breath, "Good, actually. THis water training is doing more for me than any of the land training." I make a note of his comment on the clipboard.

"Do you have any interest in some deep-water training, to see how far you can go down without problems?"

"If there were problems?"

"I am coming with you. Nothing bad should happen."

"Sure, why not? It would be nice to know the extent of my abilities."

"We leave at three tomorow mornig. Be up early. We are flying to the deepest lake in the world, lake Baikal. If you think you will need any gear for warmth, pack it, the lake is in Siberia."

Lars nodds. I walk off to take a look at the other trainees. I go up to Lero.

"Sorry I didn't ask you before hand, but do you mindif I take Lars to test how far he can dive underwater?"

"Lars?" He asks.

"Squid boy." I clarify.

"Oh, sure, go ahead. Try and check before hand with me in the future though."

"Okay, sorry. I have to go pack my diving suit. See you later."

*To get this story moving a long a little better I am changing rule #6 which states that there is only one character per person. Now, it shall be, everyone can have no more than two characters. You do not need to make a second character if you don't want to, but feel free too.*

After Rena left, I checked the graph on the laptop in front of me. I had inserted a pressure pad inside of the punching bag before Jane hit it so I could fully measure her strength. "That was good," I said. "You hit at about fifteen hundred pound of force." I could see the look of surprise on her face when I told her the number. "Now one more test."

I led her over to a barbell on the floor, weighted down with five hundred pounds of weight. "Lift this up."

Jane leaned down, grabbed the barbell and lifted it like it was nothing. "Do you know how much was on that?" I asked.

"No, she replied. "How much?"

"Five hundred pounds, and you lifted it like nothing. I'm guessing with enough training you could bench press more weight than any human." I made a quick note on my paper. "Ok, Jane, once you get back from your mission, instead of the several hours you spend on the tredmill, I want you to come to the gym and lift weights, try to find your max. Alright?"

"Yep."

"Dismissed."
