Hi,
I have been lurking around here for a while, but seeing the writers olympics meant I had to join! :D
Is anyone else doing them?

Hay Sophie! :} Welcome to YWS!

Yes, I am doing the Writer's Olympics too. Tons of fun, no? ^.^

Okay, so, I think I'm supposed to go over some basic rules? I'm not sure, I'm new to this whole 'being the first welcomer thing.'

Okay, so, here are the major rules that I can think of:

1. No chatspeak. That means typing like this: 'wow tis website is so awsum i luv it it rules!!1!!!1!!!' is totally not permitted. It's alright though, since we're all writers and can, y'know, type well. ^.^
2. Rate your work. I know you're new, and you've probably read through all the rules yet (if not, check them out here), and you know that you have to review two works before you post your own. But when you finally get around to posting your own work, remember to rate it so that readers know whether it's for everyone to read or it's rated PG-13.

Alright. Well. Welcome to YWS! Why don't you tell us a little about yourself? :}

Hey,
Thanks for the nice welcome and the rules! I am finding the forums a bit daunting at the moment, so if you want to point me towards some stuff of yours to review, I don't mind. :D
I mainly write/read magical realism and historical fiction. I normally write short stories, sometimes poems, and am currently attempting a script.
So, questions, questions:

What's your favourite book?
Don't have one! Too many!
Ice-cream flavour?
Ben and Jerry's Phish Food
Cookie type?
Any type!
Colour?
Yellow
Music?
Alternative pop/rock

So. . .that's a little about me.
Sophie

Hey Sophie! I'm Stella! Welcome to YWS!

I'm glad you've joined our team for the Olympics! *bows* I thought I'd welcome you here.

:o Your writing sounds awesome, historical fiction is the best! And fantasy too. I would love to point you to something of mine to review, but I haven't posted in ages. Still, review anything, as long as you're helpful, people will love you :) It's good you're reviewing! We like reviews!

I'd give you the whole no chatspeak and make constructive criticism lecture, but you seem to be doing just fine on your own. Still, if you have any questions about anything at all- or if you'd like something reviewed or if you just want to talk, drop me a PM. My door's always open!

See you around!
