I forced myself to walk towards the utility room one step at a time in front of a crowd that looked partially human... but I wasn't going to judge them.
The door leading into the room began to grow. At first I thought it was just me walking towards it, then I stopped to look for Alexis and saw that it was actually increasing in size. I approached it and tried to grasp it's ornately painted handle; the hues of blue and green swirling around in spirals that dizzied me after looking at them. Then, the door bulged out at me. An illusion, maybe.... I threw myself, nonetheless, over to the side to avoid getting hit by the door, and instead ran into a hot bar that sent waves of terror, confusion and pain into my body. The cage shook with my impact, in some places buzzing momentarily before falling silent again. I ricocheted back and met the ground with the same speed as before, fast, quiet, deafening. It all became slow motion as I faded away into darkness, finding myself welcoming the warmth of an unconsciousness... a blanket of comfort in this alien place.
My eyes opened slowly.. I could see bright lights, gym lights, and blurred figures surrounded me hurriedly. "Guys," I said, "What's wrong?" They all looked at me like I had just come back from the dead. Did I mention it smelled a lot like sweat?
"OH MY GOD BONNIE!!! YOU'RE ALL RIGHT!!" Alexis ran up to me, surprised that I was conscious.
"Well, duh. What happened?" My head hurt like hell. I vaguely remembered hitting it on something...
She looked at me all perturbed again. "You don't remember? You were up at the free throw line, looking all sweaty and stuff, about to take the winning shot in the last two seconds of the game!! You shot, and you scored! And then, this big post came up and knocked you over on your back. Hit your head pretty hard."
Another girl walked up. "You were unconscious for fifteen minutes cold." Everyone looked at me hard, trying to see if I was okay, I guess.
"Fifteen minutes? I was in that gym for--"
I cut myself off. Something told me, in the back of my mind, that I had been to my personal hell. It was all a dream. A nightmare. Not real.
A woman that I vaguely remembered as the school nurse ran up to me. She checked my temperature, observed the now swelling lump on the side of my head, and practically abducted me while looking at the dilation of my pupils.
I seemed to be fine, physically. Mentally... I was a wreck. I couldn't tell what was real, the gym here, or the other gym... the medieval gym, the nightmare. Confusion was gagging my common sense, leaving blotted memories for me to piece together one by one, slowly slowly unveiling the real story.
I felt the bump on my head. It was tender and made currents of pain surge through my whole body, just like the electricity in the steel cage.
"So wait," I said to Alexis, "Did I get the shot?"
"Hell yes! Swish! I mean, the net practically cheered for you, too! It was sooo beast!!"
A ringing in my ear reminded me of the bogus headache I had already. Alexis wasn't helping. "SShh! I did just wake up, you know."
She blushed and yelled as she walked off, "Do you want cream with your coffee?"

Okay, I've changed them, just for you. Here's the excerpts from the part you wanted changed:
