Story #3: Death by Trap
I slowly came to in a dark room. I tried to move, but my hands and feet were tied to the chair. Yelling wouldn’t have done me any better either with my mouth gagged. My best option was to move around and make enough noise so someone would hear me. It turns out that that was a bad idea. The legs on the back of the chair had been sawed through enough that they would break easily if I moved, but still hold me.
I fell on my back, bashing my head on the floor, giving me an instant headache. Suddenly, a light flared on from overhead. Above me was a grid of blades. Then a voice from nowhere said, “Hello, Mr. Ash. Do you like the viewing arrangements I have set up for you. In one minute, if you have not positioned your self correctly, those blades will fall down, slicing through your body, but you can still live.
“There is enough room in one of the square sections that you can fit in, losing nothing more than a couple of hairs. If you can manage to do that, you will shortly find yourself unconscious again, and wake up home. Better hurry up, that one minute begins . . . now!” My struggling got more frantic now. I wiggled, moving inched at a time. Right above me was an intersection where four blades came together.
No matter how much I struggled, I couldn’t get anywhere. The minute seemed like a life time as it passed slowly by. A bell chimed, giving a pleasant sound to a unpleasant demise. I watched in terror as the blades came down, one head right at my head.
I finally manage to spit the gag out. “Oh fuck!”
Story #4: Death by Cannibalistic Neighbor
Amanda stared outside at the house next door. Her neighbor was a gentle old man who looked like he could be someone’s grandpa. He was out on his garden, leaning on his cane with a water pail, pouring water onto his flowers. As if sensing her stare, the old man looked up and stared at her. He smiled and returned to his watering. Suddenly feeling a wave of pity, Amanda decided she would take a cold glass of tea out to the old man and help him. With a pitcher and two glasses, she walked out there.
The old man was friendly, gladly accepting and thanking her for the tea and help, and by the ime the sun starting sinking, he invited her inside for supper. Amanda helped him, browning the hamburger in the pan, and adding the spaghetti sauce. She set two plates full of spaghetti onto the table and sat down, waiting for the man to return.
Next thing she knew, duct tape covered her mouth, and a knife was held at her throat. She was forced to turn around, and found herself staring face-to-face with the not so gentle old man. There was the maniac glee in his eyes as he forces her into his living room. He forced her to the ground and handcuffed her hands. Amanda’s first thought was that this was a perverted old man, but she wasn’t prepared for what happened next.
The old man plunged the knife into her abdomen, cutting it open. She tried to scream in terror but the duct tape prevented it. She felt as the man reach inside of her and grab her intestines. She watched as the old man devoured her innards as she slowly laid there dying.
Story #5: Death by Being Kicked Off the Grand Canyon
Heather stared out across the vast rift of the Grand Canyon. It was the first time she had ever been there, and it had amazed. She looked down and could barely see the river at the bottom, but she knew she would see it close up when she rode down on the donkey.
The guide summoned them over and showed them the donkeys. They were all a dull grey and looked very dimwitted. The guide assured them that they would get them all down safely. As soon as the mounted up, they were off, navigating the narrow trails leading to the bottom.
Though Heather did not feel safe walking on the Grand Canyon’s wall, she kept going. Halfway down, they were no longer close to the base. Stopping at on the widest path down the cliff, they let their donkey’s have a break. Feeling brave, Heather walked over to the edge and looked down.
The last thing Heather heard was the guide yelling, “Look out!” and felt a donkey kick her, sending her plunging to the bottom of one of the largest canyons in the world. She shut her eyes and waited till she hit the floor, knowing that it was going to be a while.
Story #6: Death by Rabid Squirrels
Summer walked around the local park. She was carrying a simple handbag full of food for animals. Her plan was to spend all day feeding the animals till she had no more food. At the pond she fed the fish and ducks slices of bread, and at near the benches she gave the birds the crumbs at the bottom of the bag along with some shelled sunflowers.
Night came down before he bag was empty, so she decided to leave early and come back the next day. Just as she was about to leave the park a squirrel walked right in front of her. She kept walked towards it, expecting it to run away, but it didn’t budge. She stopped and looked back at the black beady eyes staring at her. Thinking that it was just looking for food, she pulled out the rest of the sunflowers and poured it on the ground. The squirrel came up and started nibbling away.
Summer continued on her way out of the park, thinking that the squirrel was kind of peculiar. She walked out of the park and into the city. Across the street was a glass window of a bar, and in it she could barely see something strange behind her. Turning around she saw the squirrel that she just fed, along with several more. She watched as several more squirrels appeared. Then even more squirrels appeared, and then some more, and soon thousands of squirrels stood before her.
All the squirrels’ eyes were on here, and though squirrels were normally twitchy creatures, they did not move a muscle. Then, without a signal from anyone, they all charged forward. Scared, Summer turned to run away, but when she was watching the squirrels, another group of them had form behind her.
She swung her handbag as the first squirrel reached her. When it hit the ground, it never got back up again. This did not perturb the other squirrels, who continued to charge her. As a group, they all jumped her. Summer was thrown to the ground, her breathe taken away by the weight of all the squirrels. She could feel all their furry bodies on top of her, and suddenly, she could also feel their claws and teeth.
They began tearing at her flesh, ripping layers of skin away. Summer attempted to kick, but the combined weight of all the squirrels was too much for her to move her leg. And when she tried to yell, the squirrels forced their heads into her mouth and began biting at her tongue. She coughed, choking on her own blood. Darkness quickly descended over her vision as lost consciousness. Later family would report her missing, but when they go to search the park, they will find nothing.
