These are really good. Brilliant work. I'm not sure about calligraphy, so based on visual appeal alone, I shall comment on them. So, here we go: 1.I really love the intricate work you've done. It look good. But the tree looks a lot like a huge blob of leaves. I think you need to add spaces around here and therfe (Just tiny ones) that would make it a bit more realistic. Look at this: As you can see, there are gaps between branches and the leaves. Let's concentrate only on the branches, at the part where they extend out, you can see space. That would help this drawing. Also; I love the little people you've drawn.
2 & 3. I'm not quite fond of the parchment-colored paper. It seems to give a un-professional air. Sorry. However, I like the one on plain white background. Crisp and nice. The lines in the middle of 'N' look like they're bleeding. You should try for a straighter, cleaners set of lines. Also; I think it would look cleaner if you signed a little lower.
4 & 5: I think they look really good. I'm not sure of what else to comment.
Anywho, belated Merry Chritmas and Happy New Years. Edit: On second thought, the second parchment effect does look good, on a smaller screen. Cheers, ~Lava

Well, the first is my favorite. The writing was good, and looked better on the brighter, whiter paper, in my opinion. But my favorite had to be the tree with those little shadows of people (children?). It just gave me a story in my head. Amusing. Nice job. Tata for now. -Miss Mizz

Thanks for the reviews guys, but I made a mistake. The calligraphy wasn't supposed to be here ( >.< ) I had already posted it on YWS somewhere else, and forgot about it. Removed it now, and there's only the tree left. Thanks again!
Not too bad. The detail is nice, and it seems realistic and a good tree. A few pointers. 1. A tree that far away, you wouldn't be able to identify every single individual leaf. They would seem to lump together or seem like a bunch of green. 2. I suggest you add bark detail to the tree, since it would make it look more realistic. 3. Add shade (you'd be surprised what shade can do)
I hope this helps, this is a great tree, and it is a perfect start. Trees are hard (I need to practice TT^TT )
Hey there Jenthura! I really like this tree! When I first looked at it, I thought "Hey, this reminds me of something they might would post in a book of poems!" I love how the children(?) are all lounging around this beautiful, large tree, without a care in the world! The leaves do look a little strange, but since it's your art, maybe that's how you picture leaves on a tree. Is there a certain concept behind this, or was it just random? Anyways, I would most definitely like to see more!
This is so beautiful. The detail work is amazing-- your lines are so sharp and crisp. I love the idea of the piece as well; the kids are so full of life. This must have taken such a long time to make. Did you do it in pen originally, or did you start in pencil and then ink it?
I think it would look even better if there were one or two more kids among the leaves. The one on the top looks lonely and out of place being the only one there. Also, a little bit of line shading on the trunk might make it more dimensional. Also, maybe you could put a few more leaves on the ground? The ones in the front help it look more complete.
Anyway, I'm really glad you posted this. It makes me really happy, they look like they're having so much fun.

Hey there! I really liked this. The lines are strong and make the image vivid and seal the effect. My favourite thing is this setting, the silhouettes semms so natural and there's a real easiness to familiarize with it. One thing, I'd say, is that it looks more of a 'detailed fantasy' tree as opposed to grasping that feel of realism. I think this is because of the neat curving of the leaves and the blandness of the trunk. Otherwise, keep up the wonderful drawing/tracing. Ben.
This is so cool. I love how there are so many symbolic messages you can get from this. It's really good! How long did this take? What's the dark object on the top of the tree? It looks a bit our of place, and keeps drawing my attention.
You did a wonderful job here! Keep it up.

I actually really love this as it is. It seems to be a very unique style - you must have had a lot of patience to do all those leaves.
But like Jenna said, I think there could be a couple more at the top of the tree. The one there at the moment looks a little lost, and boring, and you have to double check to be certain it is a person. And maybe one or two in the middle - I'm looking at that lonely branch at the top right. And then maybe a little more going on around the roots? A few tuffs of grass or maybe just some scattered leaves? It seems off having a big clump then nothing else.
But! This is still very lovely, and I don't want it to become to messy. Lovely artwork, here.

I love this drawing, and I like the way that the children are all playing on the tree. I think that you could have spaced the leaves out a little and maybe added a few branches to make it a little more realistic but other than that I loved it. I liked the way that the children were sillouettes. Well Done!
Hello, I am AspiringAuthorA..M. also known as AM, AAAM, and several other names.
Wow, I can honestly say I could stare at your drawing for minutes on end. I love the shadow figures scattered around. You have created a unique ambient feel to your piece. As a youngster I loved books that had hidden pictures within the picture. Searching for deeper meaning is captivating, no?
Just so I don't get a sour after taste about your drawing I didn't look for any flaws.

I really like the silouhettes of the kids playing in the tree. The way you drew the leaves is really cool too; it reminds me of something you'd see in a Shel Silverstein book, or maybe something in "The Yellow Submarine," that old Beatles movie.
Thanks for sharing!
