Critic:
Oh what have we here today?
Another poet who’s lost his way,
Let us untangle this wretched fray,
To find these thoughts which have gone astray.
Oh what could this be that I have read,
Another poem which ideas are led,
Let me try to decipher it with this red,
So I can help him move ahead.
I think this is what this poet means,
But this purpose is not what it seems,
How should I know this poet’s dreams,
I’ll just read it like one of the machines.
I’ll choose to be just aesthetic,
Although I wish I could be poetic,
This wording is really quite pathetic,
But I’ll do my best to be sympathetic.
I don’t quite understand this line,
It doesn’t very much align,
Hidden meanings don’t seem to shine,
He better change his way this time.
I don’t get it, so I’ll leave my word,
And tell him how this is absurd,
His purpose to me is just unheard,
All this stuff to me seems blurred.
Writer:
Oh what do we have here today,
A critic who has something to say,
How I hope it is his praise,
So I know success has come my way.
How could he say this to me,
After all the expression of life and dream,
It’s not fair for him to read,
Unless he does so openly.
He just doesn’t understand the emotion,
Why does he cause such a commotion,
Biased thoughts towards this notion,
I gave this poem my full devotion.
They don’t get it, the purpose of this,
The understanding thoughts they all miss,
For this poem opens the abyss,
To all ideas except for bliss.
