Broken Wings

broken wings.jpg This poem is the first part of two that I've written. It shows the darker side of faith, and the second will be kind of the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you like it! :D *** Wings of faith lay broken on a shadowed floor. They weep with the pain of betrayal, sharp, quick and sudden. The cuts are deep and ragged; blood flows from open veins that cry for a mercy which may never come. Ivory bones are shattered and ground into dust by the cold, cruel hammer and anvil of truth. The pain is unbearable; the depression is deep, and this angel may never find solace in His arms again.
