Hello!

...And now I have no idea what to write. Darn. I focused all of my creative energies on my title, and now I've run dry. My name is Erika, and I'm a fifteen year old wannabe writer! I like all things fiction, and dabble (without much success) in poetry.

Happy to be here :ftw: <- Couldn't resist.

Hi Erika! I'm Elinor, and welcome to YWS! :D
I really like the name Erika, and it's about 10 times cooler when spelled with a 'k'. Anyhow, do you have any favorite genres? Do you like to read? If so, who are your favorite authors?
It's really cool you could join us, and I hope you have a maginificent time on the site. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions about the site or if you ever need a review, okay?
Again, welcome!

P.S. I wouldn't say that you're a wannabe. We all have a certain amount of talent, and as long as we keep at it, listen to critism an have a willingness to learn, it'll all turn out alirght. :D

Edit: That little smiley you posted is win.

Hello Erika!

Welcome to YWS! I love to write fiction as well. I can't wait to read some of your writings. I hope you enjoy YWS as much as I do.

Here's some questions you might enjoy thinking about!

Would you rather write a story based in the 18th century, or modern times?

What do you think is a well-lived life?

Do you think life should be a wonderful adventure?

Okay, here are some easy questions:

What kind of music do you like?

Do you like to draw?

Who's your favorite author?

Hope these activated your prefrontal lobe! Haha

Hello Erika!

Welcome to YWS first off, and also Welcome to a new chapter in your life. (If you so choose to continue reading.)

YWS is here so young writers can communicate with each other and learn new things to add to their writing. I have benefitted from this and I hope you will too.

There are some rules that you need to check out, though. I'll leave those to the actual Greeters who are the light blue people.

Here are some questions that you can answer if you wish:

Who is your inspiration for what you write?

Are you inspired by music, t.v., or any other media?

Feel free to PM me for directions around the site if you need some.

Hello Erika! Nice to meet you. I'm Vanadis, or Freyja.

Welcome to YWS! I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely. There's a lot of good work here, nifty hints and tricks, and helpful people.

So about your being stuck. I hate when that happens! So you've got a title, yes? Well, do you have any characters? If not, I'd suggest you do a few character outlines and then, just for fun, have them interact with each other (in your mind, on paper, whatever.) See what comes from it. Or, there are some pretty cool plot idea generators and prompt sites. When I get stuck, I'll usually turn to this one:
http://feath.com/idea/weekly.htm
It's by far my favorite; it's from a live journal community called Muse Muggers that unfortunately has no openings, but they keep their posts public so you can still check out the prompts. There are a few links around this page that'll take you to more. Sometimes you can only use part of them, but even that much is a start.

Okay, so I'll stop rambling and leave you to your work. However, if you've ever got any questions, feel free to throw me a PM.

Take care, and once again, welcome!

Hey Erika! Welcome to YWS!

I'm Amy, it's nice to meet you. Can I just ask, what's the reasoning behind your username? Is it a nickname people give you, or is it based off Indie music/style? I was just curious, because I'm a big fan of Indie music myself!

I'm pretty much like you on the whole fiction and poetry conundrum. Whenever I *attempt* to write a poem it ends up just being kind of comical. But, hey! I guess everyone has their own strengths.

So, do you prefer to write shorter stories or full-length novels? And, if you do write novels, do you ever finish them? XD

See you around! *high fives*

~Amy
