Dackoda!

Dackodas are creatures that stand as tall as a ten year old child. They can be ridden and they are often taken into war. Western mountain dackodas, this kind, can go long without water and though they are generally carnivorous they can survive on plants and fruit. I made dackodas up long, long ago in grade three, though they were nameless back then. Now they are a permanent fixture in my world, Balema, and in my book.

I'm guessing you made this up? The shading is well done on this picture. Its got a nice proportion with head and neck. Im guessing the part that comes off is ears...well if there ment to be kind of like a horse or a cropped dogs ears then i would have drawn it a little more away from the eye. I like the picture its neat. PM me when you have more work up

Cuuute. It reminds me of a dinosaur.

I'd shade the underside of the face-thing, strengthen the darkness of the eye and also shade the ear (?) area. I like the nostril. Call me odd, but it's cute. Also, add texture. What kind of skin does it have? Leathery? feathery? Scaly? humany? =D

You should draw a full body shot, too.

What can I say? The features of shading and your talent in illustration here are beautiful, this basically flawless.
I suppose the only real improvement anyone could suggest is let's see more of the image, the body, what about his surroundings? All that, you know?
Otherwise this has a stenciled realism and a beauty of crafted features, so it's truly wonderful.

I like your creature drawing. It reminds me of the Loch Ness Monster for some reason, because of its uncanny resemblance to some sketches of the mythical beast.

But, as BenFRanks above said, it would be nice if you had given us a much broader image of your creation. We'd get a much better appreciation for the animal if we could see more than its head. As far as I can tell from just the head I imagine it is a horse like creature.

Other than that, your shading is for the most part, spot on.
