“Wait Anna, I am just protecting him I don’t want you to hurt him, like by hitting on him.” That wasn’t harsh was it? Arhhh what have I done. She just looked at me in disgusted. Her lighten green eyes felt like they were cutting into my skin.
“Ouch” I mumbled under my breath, and then said out loud, “Well have a good one.”
A stupid thing to say but the only thing I could think of she watched me turn and walk towards my room mate. I think I could feel her eyes watching me, feel them pricing my skin still I could feel the hate in them. I want to turn around and tell her to back off, but I turn I see her; instead I see the end of her hair flick into her sisters room and the door slam. I try to ignore it but I can’t I just can’t believe how and what I said. Well I look back at my room mate she has most likely left her keys inside again, she can be very forgetful. I just had the sudden urge to run back to Teal’c room and say sorry. When I couldn't find them I went back our room let my roomie Charlie in then went to bed.
I didn’t see Anna at all the next day, I hope she’s okay I didn’t mean to hurt her. Well Teal’c seemed to be having fun anyway. She screeched pass my first class and sprinted down the hall. Well so I thought.
The day was horrible I didn’t have any classes with Xavier cause the two classes we had together were canceled due to teachers being sick and not finding replacements so we had spares but he had training for football (union) because his whole team is in our class and they want to get in the extra practice before the game in two weeks. The team always pays out on us for sitting at the back. But I saw him at lunch we went for a walk to his room, and talked, just talked because he refuses to do anything with me until I am seventeen but I am just fifteen, my birthday was on the fourth of November and it only the eleventh of March. He made me talk about staying out of my brothers’ life. Because he is one year older then me and is a big boy and I don’t have to help or make for him, and I had to say sorry to him for interfering.
“Why does he even have to know what I said? I don’t understand if I don’t tell him he won’t be grumpy at me. Aghrrrr, please don’t make me do this.”
“Well maybe Skyla this time you will learn to not interferer in his life” I hated when he used my full name, this meant he was serious. Even though I had one hundred excuses to use I didn’t because I hated the serious conversations I had with Xavier. They are so boring. I wasn’t really listening but I still manage to hear some of it.
I don’t know what to do I am not that hungry…but I think I will go hunting just to pass time. I slowly walk out to the forest and as I got the edge of the forest. I decided to go to and see the fig tree I used to play at when I was little. I don’t understand why people don’t think we and other mythical being exist… just like how people think that god is a myth. No one really knows until they die and even then you can’t tell anyone. Then I decided not to go to the fig tree. I walked up the stairs to find Xavier at the top of the staircase with chocolate, white chocolate my favorite.
“So how are you and what are you doing here and what do you want from me”
“What makes you say that?” he said in a sarcastic voice
“Arr you have that look on you face like you want me to do something I won’t want to do like last time. You got me flowers so I could tell your parents that when we are out of school that we are moving into a house together! So what do you what me to do this time.”
“Well its two things actually”
“One.” I said
“Teal’c has this obsession with ancient marshal arts, so I would like you to teach her taree?” He said as he scuffed up his brown hair.
“Okay that’s not bad at all I get to hang with a friend while teaching and practicing kalnare, but there is number two which the chocolates are for right.”
“Yeah I would like you to help Anna find friends I think she, may be having trouble. I thought you knew people that are her type”
“Yeah what emo and depressed that hang by the tree over at the back of the school”
He just gave me the look I don’t like the look. “You know I hate that look I am sorry I will try, but just think about if your cousin doesn’t want my help what I do then huh”
“Just think with the thing in your cranium” I just cocked my head to the side and looked at him as he pulled me close until footsteps came up the stairs.
“30cm rule children” Miss Musman said in a scratchy voice and then kept walking. Then suddenly started walking back “It’s after nine it’s time for you to go back to your room young man and you sky.” All the teachers around her know my name, I don’t know if that is a good thing.
“I will assort you down, say good night and good night the both of you” she said as she walked to the stair well then waited for Xavier to catch up,
“Sleep well.” He whispered in my ear.
“Hurry up I am waiting” Miss Musman said up the stair case.
I said back to Xavier loud enough for the teacher to hear it.
“The only reasons she wants to go to the boys area is because she has a year 6 crush on Mr. Willis”
“Ok goodnight love you” I said as I kissed him on the cheek.
It was 10 past 10 and I would expect Anna and Teal'c would be sleeping or studying. Still felt really bad cause of what I had done. I couldn’t control self that night and that’s what I did.
I burst into the room spurting out, “I’m sorry” but as I looked around no one was there so I just walked back to my room.
I feel stupid I still can’t believe I said that to Anna I am so sorry. I just wish she could here this. I called up Xavier to tell him what had happened. He told me to go back to both dorms to see them. They were both in Anna’s room again I start talking before I look at anything. After saying sorry about 20 times I realize they both looked really guilty. I went from an apologist’s state to my normal self.
“What have your’s done” I said in a blank voice. Teal’c spat out “nothing we’d done nothing, nothing…nothing at all” okay we need to work on her lying skills then I noticed a small boy crawl from under the bed. I could feel the shock come over my face, and I didn’t try to hid it “What is that, what the hell have you done or what has happened?” Anna looked the guiltiest so I started with her “What have you done?”
“Well” she started “after you told me to stay away I got really pissed, and you know how we can control elements well”
“What the hell has this got to do with what you have done; I don’t need a history lesson. Oh know, Oh know” again goes me over thinking stuff again, or was I this time I don’t know any more. “You didn’t rip up all the earth or the floor, because there our strongest element to control”
“No, no, no” she started again “after you told me to stay away I got really pissed, and you know how we can control elements well I can control water really well I can control water very well. I drained all the water from Teal’c room mates Suzy, fungi and fish tank and fish skin. So now everything is dead.”
“Okay let me get this right, you got me all worked up over that taree”
“What are to talking about taree” Teal’c exclaimed with a confused expression on her face. “Well” I started, crap I been spending too much time with them. I have started to start my sentences of the same. “Taree is word in wolf meaning people and earth.” I said as if I was talking to year 3 students. “And just to let you know we are wolves not werewolves”
“How bu…” Anna started all defensive.
“Werewolves are creatures that don’t have a choice but to transform at full moon and they eat anything with meat. As for us we are shape shifters….”
Teal’c started this time getting all defensive and excited “If we are shape shifters how come we can only transform into wolves…” there was a moment. Teal’c tried to transform into a fish. “Well if you would of let me finish I will explain that, and point you don’t like fish but you want to be one?”
“Just for a moment I want to tell all the fish I had and killed that I am sorry” she said as a tear slid down her cheek.
“Well it’s only that we have wolf dna in our dna we can change when ever we want. There are other out there like us, shape shifters some can only change into birds, some rats others monkeys.”
“Oh that would explain the rat your ex……”she looked at Anna as she was just about to say the last words; Anna had tears building up in her eyes. Okay new topic.
“Back to what you were doing, she can grow some new fungi or something, or better yet put all the moister back into everything, if you can take it out.” I said looking at Anna.
“But you can’t bring it back to life every thing is dead” Teal’c exclaimed.
“Just try” There was a moment of slience while I tried to gain track of my thoughts.
“Now you Teal’c what is up with the little Blondie over there?”
“Well” she began, her and her sister may not look the same but they used the same speech. “Some orange head boy was beating him up” I examined the little boy with my eyes there were no burses or marks. “And I stopped it from happening by kicking the door open.” She said looking proud with her self. “That’s all I know so far and I told you this today at lunch remember” she tried to make the last bit quieter then the rest. I am guessing the reason for that is so I don’t sound stupid.
“Oh yeah umm I remember” I just had a funny feeling, and then I felt a beam grow across my face then I burst out laughing. Walked out of the room and said good night.
Next day was parade they announced that there was a dance more like a ball actually were you have to wear hoop dresses and boys have to wear tuxes coming up in six weeks. My jaw dropped. I liked these things but as dressed up as I get is jeans and a stain less shirt.
Amber poked me and whispered, “Sucks for you they don’t let in girls without dresses on.” She giggled after she had said it.
Anna and Teal’c came running up saying I can’t believe this I love these things. Just glared at them and walked away.
“All the girls will be after dates luckily I have one well I hope I do, but what if he leaves me for another girl?” I said to myself.
Suddenly someone appeared next to me slid there hand into mine. I spun around as fast as I could, it was Xavier and he slowly said “I don’t think he would do that.”
“So you do want to go with me” I asked confused.
“Ye…” Xavier cut off as I tripped over something. As I was getting off the ground I look to the left and saw Teal’C, she just stood there looking in the opposite direction towards a small shadowed figure.
