*I'm thinking of adding the chapters onto this in posts. I have written Chapter TWO: Click, because everyone was so awesome and I couldn't disappoint by letting it end there. :D*

Chapter ONE: Wishful Thinking

Kill him.

Punch him.

Stab him in the right eye with a 12cm serrated butchers knife, the kind mum used to slice everything.

Grab the bat, hit him down again and again and again and watch the blood spatter in delicious red patterns.

Watch him squirm, stop his breath, dice his heart.

Torture him endlessly.

Beat him black and blue. Make him remember the taste of my fist. Smash every tooth out of his mouth. Break each bone in his body.

Tear out all his hair and then light his head on fire.

As I stared blankly into the sunset my mind conjured these disturbing thoughts. Swallowing loudly, but not loud enough to drown out the thud of my excited heart, I pressed onto the ground so that I could stand. Dirt clung to my sweaty hands and I blinked violently to get the dangerous thoughts out of my head. A bit of perspiration trickled down my face as I fought to tame them.

I struggled to calm these murderous emotions; once upon a time they weren’t as aggressive as this. It was like walking a lion with a dog leash. Every time I managed to snap the lock to its collar, if I ever showed even the most minuscule weak spot it would instantly break away and assault me again with completely renewed vengeance.

After a vicious battle with my inner self, I managed to shove them back into hiding and with a loud sigh I wiped the sweat from my brow in relief.

Slowly the sun, with its golden rays kissing my skin one last time, descended beyond the mountains in the horizon letting the warmth linger on in memories alone. It was a sight so depressing it almost made me want to cry.

I closed my eyes to savour the sun’s sleepy tepid embrace. A sudden, sharp gust of wind blew in and the last tender wisps of heat fled as the chill of the night took reign over the sky. I scowled as the cold crept past the flimsy layers of my clothes and I inadvertently shivered as I felt small lumpy goose-bumps form on my extremities.

Flicking open my eyes, casting a last glance at the darkening sky, I wondered fleetingly if it were possible for someone like me to able to depart the world like that; leaving warmth in my wake. A silly thought for someone like me though. I would probably exit this globe like the harsh nightly wind of which I so abhorred; freezing everyone.

Unlike the sun, I was not light. I was not warm. No. I was . . .

“Umph!”

. . . getting my foot caught under a root, tripping on it and landing face first, apparently. Sometimes, I was too lost in thought.

As I brushed off the dirt, slapping my hands against my clothes resulting in a cloud of dust, I shook my head at my wonderful “grace”. As the distracting cloud fell back into place my gaze chanced upon the mansion and I physically, without any kind of recognition, felt my heart notch up a gear. As if it knew what I was to do here.

My fingers tingled with the need to hold something sharp. I began to approach the building, my feet stepping ahead of me. I knew this feeling. I tried to pull the reins back, drag the animal back. I dug my feet into the ground, but they stepped forward unheeding of my commands.

My mind began to shatter, a headache pounding in my temple, little bits of light darting in and out of my eyesight. My vision grew hazy, my mind clouded, but still I tried even through the disorientation. Tried until I felt so exhausted that if I were in control my eyes would no longer stay open. I struggled to bring it back inside once more, but even using all my energy, I failed.

If I couldn't stop this, what awaited me tonight . . . even I dare not think about it. For I could only watch.

. . .

The leash was off.

Kill him.

First of all, this reminds me of Rorschach in Watchmen. Just wanted to let you know that. and, second of all, well done. I like your writing ability and the way you describe everything is very realistic. You have an ability with metaphors, and you seem to use them a lot. Keep writing. You're doing good
And the angel said unto him, “stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself.” But lo, he could not stop, for the angel was hitting him with his own hands.

I have many thoughts considering this piece, and none of them i can put into correct words, but I will try nonetheless.

It was written with the grace of a feather
More fast paced than a chettah on the hunt
Enthralling as watching a flower bloom in speed up motion
And as gripping as a pythons deadly hold

Good job and the best of luck to you as a writer!

Ahhah, thanks Vasticity.

I love Rorschach, pity how the movie ended though *shakes head sadly* :(.

Wow, thank you Kaywiia.

Those are wonderfully descriptive thoughts about my story! :) You seem like the type who would be amazing in lyrical poetry. :D

Anyway, once again thank you both, for reading and commenting on Unleashed. :P

Good Luck,
and
Have A Nice Day,
Azrael. :D

I loved how you started this out with those vicious thoughts in the beginning. You could really get somewhere writing like this.
Keep it up!!!

Wow, that was really good!

For me, actually, my first thought was to the Jet Li movie called Unleashed, too  . The fact that the narrator talks about the leash coming off and that he wants to kill whoever really reminded me of the movie. Although in the movie that's all he was supposed to do, so it's only somewhat similar.

Anyways... Just like Kaywiia, I loved the way you wrote it. It just gets you caught up in it all... Although this could become a good story, or just a short one and finish here. But if you decided to, you could make this into a really good book. It's up to you.

So if ever you decide to continue it, or start up something like it, PM me to let me know.
