Anna

I had one last glance at my home town before the plane went up into the clouds. I leaned back in my chair, listening to my music, humming along to it. It was one of my favorite bands; Paramore. Teal’C was beside me practically jumping up and down in her seat. I put my hand on her shoulder and said, “Stop jumping up and down, it is not like we are going anywhere exciting.”
“You need to lighten up Anna, mum and dad are only doing this because they care.” She told me.
“If they cared they would not be sending us off to this retarded school half way across the freaking world!”
“Anna Stop being so stupid, this is an excellent opportunity for us and you are just sulking around making everyone miserable.” I was going to retort, but I felt that I had pushed her enough for now, so I leaned back into my seat and turned my music up louder.

The plane landed in Shannon Airport at two in the afternoon, it was raining. Normally I would love the rain but today it just made me feel down. It was a three hour drive to Xavier’s house, since we missed the first day of school we are going to meet Xavier at his parents’ house and then drive to the hell hole I was forced to live in. Xavier’s house is pretty nice looking with cute little rose hedges and a white picket fence, not the kind of house you would expect werewolves to be living in. I saw a face peering through a rose bush as I was getting out of the car.
“They are waiting for us behind that rose bush over there, I don’t want to talk to them I am going to go inside,” I told Teal’C as she bounced out of the car.
I stormed inside without saying hello and heard Teal’C making excuses for me.
When I got inside Aunty Marie came and hugged me.
“How are you sweetie? I haven’t seen you in ages,” she said.
“Just fantastic,” I said sarcasm thick in my voice.
“Honey your parents are just doing what they think is right.”
“I know,” I really didn’t want to have an argument with Aunty Marie; she was so nice to me. She poured me a glass of water and left the room, just as Xavier entered towing Teal’C and Sky.
“This is Anna,” Xavier was standing behind me with Teal’C and the girl who was peering though the rose bush at me, “Anna this is Sky.”
“Hi,” she said, “how are you?”
I smiled at her and went back to drinking my water, paying more attention to it then was really necessary. Sky had sandy blonde hair that fell just past her shoulders placed up into a casual pony tail, her long fringe framing her face. Xavier had told me about her on the phone before, they had been going out for a while more like forever. She smiled back at me but something in her piercing pale blue eyes with a yellow rim around the pupil I saw something else, like she was mad at me, oh well it wasn’t my problem I had never done anything to her.
Sky and Teal’C went to the front room maybe that was just the way she was around strangers. I heard Teal’C and her laughing in the front room, maybe it was just me. I turned to Xavier, “Well she’s a real charmer.”
“Just give her time, she thinks you are rude,” He explained.
“What?! I have never done anything to her!”
“I mean how you are acting, it is kind of rude you know.” He said in a hard voice. I looked up at his stern face, I felt like he had just slapped me well actually I would have preferred to have been slapped. I was so sick of people telling me that.
“I know you are upset but you are doing this the wrong way,” he said his voice a bit softer. Xavier was my age but sometimes I had a hard time believing it. He seemed twenty not sixteen.
“I know I’m sorry, I will try to make a bigger effort,” I said sarcasm ran through my voice. It was not going to happen; I planned to be as moody as possible.
“That would be good,” He said ignoring my sarcasm, “Now how do I say this without seeming weird”
I raised one eyebrow in response my lips pouted in frustration
“This school is not like your old school, there are creatures, and things you won’t understand.”
“What do you mean; I thought that it was just a normal boarding school?”
“That is what the humans think; there are vampires at this school as well.” WHAT vampires that can not be possible vampires are just myths, not real living creatures!
“But Vampires are not real,” I said stupidly.
“Yes they are, and there are several of them at this academy. We do not know who they are but they are definitely there.”
“But… I… what…” I stammered.
“Vampires are always pale but there are a lot of pale people everywhere so that is not a good way to find them but every vampire has a mark. When they are “made” they get a mark on their chest.”
“What do you mean find them?” I was so confused, but give me a break it was a lot to take in in just in one conversation.
“We need your help; we have been told that the vampires are planning something so we need to find them.”
“What you want me to go around looking at people’s chest, don’t you think that, that will look a little bit weird?” He wasn’t making any sense.
“Know we want you to keep a close eye on anyone that looks suspicious,” He said, “I know this must be a bit weird but we really need your because those bloodsucking freaks are planning something and I doubt that it is good.”
“Ok I guess I could help, but I don’t really think I will be much help I don’t even know what this mark looks like.”
“Here.” He rummaged in his bag for a second before pulling out a piece of paper and handing it to me. It was a circle with these weird teeth biting into a heart.
“This is the vampire mark?”
“Yes it might look just like a tattoo but anyone who has this mark is a vampire.”
“Do these vampires drink blood?” I asked.
“Yes” he looked at me funny.
“I mean human blood.”
“Yes vampires have to drink human blood to survive which makes them even more dangerous because they could be snacking on students or local village people.”
“Do they kill the people they drink from?”
“Not normally, they normally bite random people and take a small amount of blood from them and the people they bite don’t remember because vampires when they bite cause the person to forget all about the bite and the bite marks also disappear. Which is why we haven’t tracked them down yet because they leave no traces of what they do?”
“What do you want me to do if I do find a vampire?” I asked, “Like if I see that mark thingy.”
“You will have to report it to me straight away and I will tell the counsel.”
“What counsel?”
“There is a secret organization full of werewolves that track these vampires and kill them.”
“And tricky buggers they are to kill indeed,” Aunty Marie had entered from behind.
“Mum is part of the counsel,” explained Xavier.
“How do you kill them?” I asked Aunty Marie.
“Well you can either Stake, set them on fire, decapitate them,” She paused, “Or as a wolf you can kill them, there is something about our bite that if used brutally enough can kill them. But nothing else works.”
“What happens when they bite us?”
“You are full of questions aren’t you?” Aunty Marie asked.
“Well this is all new to me.”
“If we get bitten by a vampire it paralyses us, which would then make it really easy to kill us.” She told me which gave me a dozen more questions but before I could ask them she said, “Well I know that you probably have a lot more questions to ask but they will have to wait you and Teal’C need to get to school.”
“Can I tell Teal’C about this?” I asked.
“Yes we need all the help we can get.”

The College no matter how much I hated to admit it was beautiful. I loved medieval stuff. Sky and Xavier lead us to the school office to tell them that we had arrived. The principal looked stern; he told us the expectations of the school then gave us our dorm numbers. Sky took us to our dorms which were both down the hall from hers, and then she left us to settle in. My room was across the hall from Teal’Cs.
“Hey Teal’C when I finish unpacking I need to talk to you so I will come in to see you.” I told her.
“Sure.”
My room mate looked like a total snob. She had the blondest hair, making her look like a real life version of Barbie. She wore really expensive looking clothes making me glad that there was a uniform; I don’t like people who dress all fancy pants just for school.
“Hi,” I said, “My name is Anna, I am new here.”
“Oh just fantastic here I was thinking that I had this room all to myself and then you come and show up!” She looked at me with disgust, like I was a piece of trash. Obviously no one told her that I was coming.
“Well I’m sorry but I am your room mate and if you have a problem you can go talk to the principal about it.” I was not in the mood to take crap from a snotty brat.
She glared at me and said, “That is your side of the room and this is mine. That wardrobe cuts the line through, cross the line and you die, touch my stuff and you die.”
“Fine,” I snapped at her.
I unpacked as quickly as I could, shoving my clothes into the wooden set of draws. Then I left and went to Teal’C’s room. There was no one else there, I wondered if she didn’t have a roommate. Then I saw a goldfish on the table in the far side of the room and a bunch of random plants on the ground. I suddenly knew that she did have a room mate because Teal’C didn’t like Goldfish since all of hers died and she never got over it.
“Hey,” I said as I walked in.
“Have you met your room mate yet?” She asked, “Mine just left, she is a bit weird but she seems nice.”
“Mine is a total snob,” I told her, “It is going to be a really long year.”
“Stop complaining,” She snapped, “So what did you want to talk to me about?”
I told her about what Xavier and Aunty Marie had told me back at the house. And just like me she had hundreds of questions; I answered the ones I could. But unlike me she was excited about it.
“It will be cool, we can be like detectives.”
“Searching for Vampires, real fun.”
“You really need to get a life,” I glared at her, “Stop dwelling on the past and embrace your future.”
“My life is back in Ireland,” I stormed at her then left the room slamming the door on my way out.
I was hungry, I hate it when I get hungry, that meant I would have to hunt. Werewolves could eat human food and live off it quite happily, but raw meat tasted so much better. I liked the taste, but I hated the “hunting” part.
It was almost dark so I wouldn’t have the problem of being seen, I just had to get out without being noticed. But it was far easier then I thought it would be.
I stormed off to the forest that was near by the school. As soon as I was under the cover of the trees I changed. I felt a shiver go through my whole body and then I looked down on my stupid wolf feet. My coat was a pretty colour, I really liked it, and it was a red colour. I moaned this was the worst part of my life; the hunt. I let my senses take over me, and I broke into a run as I smelt a near by animal. Deer, I hated deer they tasted so bad. Teal’C loves deer and personally I think that she has a glitch in her brain. My favourite is sheep, bit harder to get because if you eat a deer everyday no one will notice, but if you eat sheep the farmer will notice that his sheep are going missing. Another reason why I hate Ireland because in New Zealand you could eat all the sheep you want and there is so many that no one notices as long as you get rid of the bodies. I hated when the animal ran away in fright but they can’t run for to long because I am faster then them, more vicious, more dangerous.
I looked at the deer in pity before I bit into its stomach, hearing the ripping of flesh and the small cry for help from the deer before it fell lifeless beneath my claws. When I was finished I dropped the carcass to the ground in disgust. One was usually enough to fill me but today I was really hungry, again I let my senses take over me. About two hundred metres west I heard heavy feet against the ground. A bear? No but it was big, almost as big as me. It was closer now and it wasn’t a bear or a deer, it was another wolf (ELEPHANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), was Teal’C following me? I sniffed the air to see if I could smell her scent, but it was unfamiliar, maybe it was Xavier or Sky? I wasn’t sure because I had never been around Xavier or Sky while they were in their wolf form. The smell was getting stronger and I could hear footsteps about half a mile north. Something was telling me to run, I couldn’t be sure if it was Xavier or Sky. I decided to stay put who ever it was had probably already heard me, so it didn’t really matter. I was also curious because if it wasn’t Sky or Xavier, who was it? How may wolves really go to this school? Xavier had told me that Sky had a brother. But I didn’t know if he was a werewolf. It normally ran in the family but sometimes it skipped a kid. The mystery wolf was now within a hundred metres away. I change into my human form and put my clothes that I had carried with me on. That was one of the worst things about being a wolf we have to change in and out of our clothes when we shift otherwise they rip and then you are left with nothing to wear, not the best thing.
I was sure this wolf was close enough to hear me now, because even with my human ears I could hear it.
“Hello? Umm is anyone there?” I asked stupidly, what reply was I expecting to get back? A howl? I was startled when a male voice replied, it wasn’t Xavier.
“Hi, um is that Anna or Teal’C?”
“Anna, who is this, are you a friend or Xavier’s?” I spun around trying to see someone in the trees and failed.
“Sorry I wasn’t sure Sky told me that you and your sister were coming,” He said as he walked out in from behind a large tree, only wearing a pair of jeans, his chest was bear and boy was he muscley.
“My name is Danny, I’m Sky’s brother”
“Oh, that’s alright, so I’m guessing you are wolf as well? I asked.
“What do you mean a wolf?” He asked me looking confused.
“You and Sky are werewolves like me and Teal’C,
“I don’t know what you’re talking about?” What? Did he have short term memory loss or something?
“But…what?” I stammered. I looked up at him and saw that he was laughing.
“Sorry, I had to, can’t believe you swallowed that one. Yea I am a wolf, duh?”
“You were joking?” I asked confused, and then I was laughing with him, which surprised me.
“Ha-ha you got me.”
“So do you like this school?” He asked me
“I only arrived today but it’s pretty I guess” I told him in a detached tone.
“You don’t like it?” He asked
“It doesn’t matter.” This is not the topic I wanted to discuss.
“I can see you don’t want to talk about it.”
“Not really”
“That’s okay we can talk about something else,” he said understanding
“Hmm like what are you doing out here so late?”
“I was hunting, what about you, going for a little stroll in the woods?”
“I was hunting also, until I caught your scent and came to investigate.”
“I’m not that exciting,” I muttered thinking about how sad and boring my life actually was.
“I don’t know you look pretty exciting to,” He smiled at me. Danny was pretty hot, with his tanned skin and the same shade of blonde hair as Sky and when he smiled his eyes crinkled at the side.
“Well I’m not,” I told him “Well I think I will get back to my hunting”
“Hey would you like a hunting partner?” He asked “It’s more fun with someone else”
“No thanks, I prefer to hunt alone.” his face fell
“If you’re sure” I nodded
“Okay than well I might see you later”
“See ya”
Danny walked off into the trees, it was more fun hunting with someone else was there but I wasn’t in the mood to be around anyone. I didn’t change back; I decided I was full enough for the moment and I didn’t want to run into Danny again! He seemed happy and nice but I was depressed and I didn’t want to be around happy people.
I turned towards the school, I was about two miles away so it would be a bit of a walk, and I could spend that time wallowing away in my self pity. Maybe I was being irrational but I didn’t want to live in the land of stinking leprechauns, my life was perfect back in New Zealand (apart from the wolf thing, I hate that part). I wanted to go back to where there weren’t crazy vampires and werewolves running around. My parents and perfect, cute little Teal’C agreed that the move would be good for me but I was convinced that it wasn’t and I was going to prove it to all of them. I don’t know how but I was going to do it. Sometimes I wished…BAM; I had run straight into someone while I had been consumed in my own sob story. I stumbled back a few steps and steadied myself, gee what was this peek hour traffic. I looked up to see who’d I just run into, it was a guy, a human guy. I could only just make out his shape, it was too dark in this part of the forest.
“I’m really sorry I didn’t see you there,” he said in a deep voice.
“Not it was my fault I’m so sorry,” I said “I’m Anna by the way,”
“Well Anna you smell good” he said menacingly, and then his shoulders sagged once and when he look up his eyes went bright red.

Thanks to everyone who commented last time, I hope more poeple do because we need advice thankyou. :D

Now it's getting good, not that the first three chapters weren't good, they were just fine. But now we're getting into the vampires, which is my favorite of all time, werewolves are fine, cool in fact but you can't beat vamps. Ok, so I really didn't find to many spots, where your grammer was bad or the story line lagged, it's good, I can't wait for the next install meant. One question, does Anna fallen in love with a vampire?
The heart wants, the body needs, and the mind suffers. - me

Congratulations!
