Hey all,
Not sure where to post this (never am, lol) but basically I'm researching for a novel and I need YOUR help! Think of this as a recruitment poster, LOL. Anyways, if you know anything or have any web links that can help me find out about the Victorian era and how they treated diseases, specifically pulmonary tuberculosis (a.k.a. consumption) PLEASE post here or PM me. I need to know things like (a) how diseases were diagnosed, their symptoms, etc., (b) how they were treated, (c) people's attitude to invalids with consumption, (d) cures, real and imaginary, (e) chances of recovery, (f) "rest cures" and "institutions", (g) everything else you can possibly think of
I've been trawling the internet and books but so far have only bits and pieces so anything you know on the subject would be really helpful. I know nobody here is likely to be an authority on all things Vict. but, yknow, its possible other ppl know things I dont hehehee....
Thanks in advance,
~bubbles

Have you looked for books or websites that describe how people lived in that era?
