It's always the tiny feet
that make the muddiest footprints
And the little mouths
that make the loudest noises
It's the shortest arms
that give the warmest hugs
and the smallest hands
that touch your heart the most
It's the little things in life
that make those big, big differences

Inspired by an oh-too-cute iddy biddy person of mine.

The main framework was drawn using paint, and the rest done via splashup (http://www.splashup.com) where the glitch monster threw it through a virtual lawnmower a few times, but I think it worked out well.

O my gah!
This is amazing. Really.
You definitely have talent.

The kid's face is completely proportionate, I love the use of color and the shading is so subtle. It's an awesome portrait. It's kind of blurry, it's not meant to be a completely realistic portrait and that that's what makes it hard not to gawk at.

I couldn't help but notice some few things, though. The bangs are a little too block-y. Hair, especially children's hair, is very fine so to get that impression draw the bangs more individually and loosely. (I hope that was understandable). Also, the pacifier looked like it was facing the opposite direction of the nose, which struck me as an odd angle. I don't know, just my opinion.
I'd like to see how much was done by hand.

But overall, great job. The poem was adorable also.
I hope to see more for you!

Hey! Nice work! I love the colours and the shading. My nitpicks -

1. The pacifier has an odd angle. It's pointing one way and the face is pointing another.

2. Just over the right eye there is a bit of hair that doesn't look like hair. It looks like you slathered stuff on the kid's face. Some of it is going a different way to the rest of the hair.

Keep at it!

The art piece was intriguing.

and the smallest hands

that touch your heart the most

It's the little things in life

The repetition did not add to the overall feel of the wording. But, what does it matter? This isn't meant to be a place to critique on that type of thing.

This was a great portrait, but an absolutely superb poem. I was reading it and thinking, "Aw, why can't I write something like this?"
And in every line, I found more and more inspiration- really great piece. Balanced, great contrast, great consistency. Very nicely done. :)

Hiya Tenyo!
Pink here :3

First of all, awesome poem. I love it so much, it was so inspirational, as Coral mentioned. I also wish I could write something like that. Your picture, super cute. I love the smudgy detail you put into it. The hair is also done quite nicely, good job. My only real nitpick with this is the color tone on the boy's face and neck. They look slightly different, I think the neck shading should have been a tad bit darker to match. Hmm, it depends on the lighting source and all, though. And I'm not sure where the light source is XP Anyway, you did pretty well, I love it! :D

Hey there!

I have to admit, when I first saw this I had no idea what was going on. I was like "What is that big red thing on the boy's lips." I thought at first that it was his lips, and that they were just giant and disproportionate. Then I studied the rest of it and concluded that it couldn't have been that big of a mistake. Then I thought that it was a deflated bubble gum bubble. Finally I had to read the other comments and someone said that it is a pacifier, so I'm going with that.

I think what you could do to make it look more like a pacifier is change the angle. It's awkward, like the boy is making it tilt down with his tongue. It's not as relaxed as the rest of the drawing. I also think that the handle part on the end is too big. it seems to me that the end should be about half that size, just a bit bigger than the child's head.

Other than that, the eyes are extremely realistic. The shading on the hair is alright, but you could use a bit more low-lights in there, a few strands of darker hair, and a few strands of lighter hair, just to make it look like the light is hitting it a bit more.

I really like it. I could never do this, that's for sure!

Thanks for the reviews guys, I do appreciate them!

Just a quick note: This work is almost ten months old. My style has changed a fair bit, and I've found some new tricks that can improve the quality despite using basic drawing programs, so I don't need any more reviews on this one.

Thank you :)
