I'm Fourteenth, mostly known as Pinky, and I just signed up for YWS today. :p I found this on a link from NaNo's forums and it sounded pretty darn cool. I'm mostly a fantasy writer, though not only, and enjoy reading alot too....

Like the name, very creative. Gives me a good hint that you're reading should be the same.
As far as I know, you did this perfectly correct. Maybe more interests of you would help, no? Get to know ya better.
Before I do however, let me introduce myself. I'm JustDance, but call me JD. And yep, my name is named after Lady Gaga's song: Just Dance. Haha, it was a phase.

~ So what other kind of writing do you do beside fantasy?

~ I do also do alot of fanfiction, but I don't show that off as much. :p But I think I have some sort of fantasy addiction... Even if I get an idea for a 'normal' story and little voice in my head goes, 'Wouldn't it be even MORE exciting with magic?' I do like a healthy bit of action/adventure though, and a dash of romance.

~ Obviously I enjoy fantasy here too, but I'm fine with more normal stuff. For instance I went through a phase of reading a bunch of the Princess Diary books from Meg Cabot. :p My dad is mostly to blame for my reading and writing influences, he gave me The Belgariad and The Mallorean (two fantasy series by David Eddings) when I was about ten and I loved them. The Harry Potter influences probably help too.

~ This is a bad question for me... I'm generally not the best at classifying favorites. ^-^; I really like the work of Brandon Sanderson, and a relatively new author in, you guessed it, the fantasy field. and JK Rowling will always hold a very special place in my heart and on my shelf.

~ Let's see... I recently took up martial arts (after an eight and a half year absence) and have a large library of manga (japanese comics), I've been eyeing American comics but it feels like there's so much I'd miss out on that I've never committed to it. I've also taken a big interest in things like Anthropology and Linguistics lately, but haven't acted on that much yet. I like animation and art too but am too lacking in talent and patience to do anything about those. :p

~ Purple! I like tons of others but purple has always been my favorite (excluding some phases) for who knows what reason.

~ Since I have an older brother going into college I've been thinking about this.... But I can't decide. ^-^; The only thing I can see myself really being is an author, but I'm disillusioned about artists suffering for their work enough to know that's not the life for me. I would say a doctor or a lawyer, but I hated biology when I took it and lawyer-ing sounds awfully tedious.... So I'm a bit undecided really. :p Maybe Anthropologist or psychologist....

What was your NaNo about?
My NaNovel was, keep in mind that I'm bad with explaining here, focused on my FMC Lyss. It was fantasy, of course, with a four-element magic system. So Lyss lives basically in the middle of nowhere where magic is really frowned upon because it's just weird. She finds out she's a Air Blessed, an extremely rare thing because they're hard to spot and usually don't realize they have any powers at all, and ends up leaving her town to figure out her powers and whatnot. Erm, my plot was a little non-existant and I didn't finish (yet) but it was fun to do. ^-^

Are you taking any creative writing classes?
I'm not taking any classes but some local writers are starting up a writing group of sorts, and I'm listening to some great podcasts on writing (Writing Excuses) in free time. I want to look into classes next year though!

What would you think about a story written on an event that's the effect of global warming?
Not sure if I understand the question but... A story about the after-effects of global warming could be cool. Or it could be awful. Depends on the writing, not a bad concept though!

Do you have any pets?
I have two pet chinchillas. (And they're soooo fluffy and cute!) My sister also has a dog but we all mess with him.

What do you do on your spare time?
Hmm... I usually end up chatting with friends on facebook or something. :p And playing games, plus reading and whatnot. I try to do some educational stuff in there too.

Play any sports?
Nope, though I used to do soccer as a kid. I've always thought tennis would be fun but we never got into it. And it's not really the same thing but I'm not to shabby at DDR. ;D

Are you a fan of the store Target or something?
Haha, no. The name actually comes from a mystery movie. When I was making my NaNo username I'd just watched it and decided I shouldn't obsess over a silly username and should just put down whatever, so this is the result. ^-^; It's ended up being my 'writing name' so I guess it all works out.

Aaand for horserider: I dunno... I really like Air Gear and One Piece and stuff like that. Love*Com or Skip Beat too... I have lots of faves I guess. ^-^;

I haven't finished my NaNo either. I haven't even read it through yet. It's my New Year resolution though, so hopefully it will actually be finished. Maybe ...

Haha, well so far YWS seems pretty great, though I've been busy and haven't been able to get a good look around the literary forums yet. ^-^; BUT everyone seems very nice so I'm trying to make time!


What's your favourite Disney movie?
Ooh, toughest question yet.... Probably Mulan, the Princess and the Frog was really good to though. And movies like Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast are amazing. I really love Anastasia the best, but that's 20th Century Fox, not Disney. :p

Can you keep plants alive?
I'm not sure... Probably not. :p I'm somewhat forgetful about things like that. Most likely I'd end up just leaving it outside and letting the rain do the work.

What's your favourite candle scent?
Hmmm.... Something like apple pie would be a good one.

Do you prefer hot or cold weather?
If I have to go anywhere I usually prefer hot, but cold weather is much better for snuggling under my covers so it's a tie. :p

Would you describe your handwriting as messy or neat?
I think it's neat, especially compared to, say, my brother's, but if I go too fast it becomes such an awful scrawl even I can't make heads or tails of it. ^-^;

What's your view on the Pirate vs Ninja debate?
Obviously this is one of the most important debates of our time, and not one to be taken lightly! So... I'd have to say in a fight ninja's would win, they could just take out the rum (a pirates main source of energy) and severely weaken the pirate forces in an instant. Plus pirates also aren't as good on land, while I think ninja could be equally good at fighting on land and sea. Of course in coolness it is definitely a tie, pirates as we know them live their lives on the rule of cool and that's just awesome.

I hope mine works out. ^-^ I've looked at others in the area but it all looks kind of... Haha, but the NaNo people should be lots of fun.

And DDR is great, though some of our discs are missing. ^-^;
