Here is part two of "Out of control".
Enjoy!

“Should we go see how Lucy is?” a voice laughed. I knew that voice. Rebecca. They were here. The reason I was in this situation. More voices showed their approval. Gabriel. Max. Tina. Nelly. And Jonas. I did not want to meet them. I wanted to leave, but something held me where I was. A smell. A wonderful tasty scent. They came closer. My memory of the night before told me to run. The scent prevented me form moving one step from where I was. On the spur of the moment I decided to hide behind the garbage container slightly pointing out of the alley. I watched the end of the street where the voices were coming from. It was not hard to figure out which direction that was for they were causing a tremendous racket. They were stomping through the night at a level of noise that one of those gigantic dinosaurs could have been proud of. And they were shouting at the tops of their lungs. At least that was how it seemed to me. I was surprised that nobody had come running out of their house to complain.
The smell got stronger as six figures in different colors appeared at the end of the street. I was confused. The stomping and currently Nelly’s voice were coming out of that direction, too. Why could I not see them? Nell interrupted my thoughts, “Do you think she still is there Rebecca? It all happened last night. She should be home by now.”
The best smell was coming from the rose-red figure. The other figures had nice smells as well. Now Jonas spoke, quieter than the others. If they had not all been shouting I would have assumed he was whispering.
“Do you really think this was a good idea?”
Realization hit me as I noticed that his voice came from the aquamarine figure. The figures were humans. They were the figures! I wanted to stay where I was, let them pass and go home, but something stronger that my rational thinking had taken control of my brain. Not quite knowing what I was doing I stepped out from behind the garbage containers. The rose-red figure – Was it Rebecca? – laughed so loud that my ears hurt.
“Lucy, what are you doing here?” she called, a sound like a tornado.
“I’m waiting for you.” Why did I say that? What was I doing? Instinct – Instinct?! – led me on without answering my conscience’s burning questions.
“That’s nice,” Rebecca’s irony was not to be missed. I began to run. Was I crazy? That would only encourage them! Rebecca would follow me even if everyone else gave up! I did not want that, right?
They followed me. I ran away from them just out of their reach. It was an astonishingly slow speed. I was sure that if I wanted to, I could go much faster. First the sunflower-yellow figure gave up. The others followed her example. Only the aquamarine and the rose-red figures continued their pursuit. The other four called something after them but I was not listening. I wanted the rose-red one, no other. What was I thinking? The aquamarine figure fell back and joined the others. I turned into a dead end full of boxes and faced the rose-red figure.
“Do you finally understand that you don’t have a chance?” Rebecca asked me shouting. A laugh died in her throat. Something in my eyes scared her scared her out of her wits. For a second I wondered at her fear. Then I reacted without thinking and held her mouth closed. There was not time for thought. A desire was controlling my body that I could not suppress.
A few seconds later I was astonished that I was holding a dead colorless body in my hand. There was a brilliant taste in my mouth. It felt as if someone had served me all my favorite foods after having lived on a diet of bread and water for months.
Hardly a minute had passed since we had entered the alley. Quickly I hid the body behind some boxes that stood next to a driveway. The hiding place would not survive much of a search but it would give me enough time to disappear. I hid myself behind another box near the entrance of the alley and waited for the others to come. I did not want them to see me. The figures were still nice and colorful but they did not smell as appetizing as they had before. It was like the smell of hot chocolate after a good and filling meal. Their scent did not prevent me from thinking clearly anymore. When they saw the empty alley they began to shout for Rebecca. And call for me, more quietly. To me it was as if they were shouting into a megaphone right next to my ear. While they began their extremely noisy search I slipped out of the alley so fast and quietly that they had no chance to notice me.
Happy with myself I ran out of the city and over the fields. I ran away from the increasing noise of the city. I never even considered returning home. The smells were also a lot nicer outside the city although… almost everything smells better than garbage. Slowly the sun began to rise or at least that is what I assume caused the return of the streaks of color. Even though the sounds were quieter and the smells better I began to be as uncomfortable as the day before. Never had I noticed that animals caused such a racket and that plants smelled so intense. I ran into a forest looking for a place to sleep away the day. A ledge looked good to me.
Only then, short before I fell asleep I became aware of what I had done. I had killed a human being. Killed and enjoyed it. What had I become? A monster? I was too tired to think. I would think about it when I woke up.
