So this is a character drawing of mine from the storybook 'Ragdoll'. His name is Alasdair and is... well a ragdoll as is shown.

So basically, what this picture symbolized was that this 'ragdoll' (a genetically mutated human) and that he would only be able to fly, to have his wings when human once more. It also symbolizes that only in death can he find the power to strip away the ragdoll around him to reveal his humanity underneath.

This is Alasdair O'Reily, or his ragdoll name 'Winter' :). I hope you like it! And please, be cruel. I do enjoy cruel critiques ;D.

I actually REALLY like this drawing, and I'm so jealous of your talent. The shading and texture is lovely, especially in the wings and hair. I have no idea who this Alasdair guy is, but he looks super sweet, his eyes and his stance, they make me want to be his friend :) Lovely job, Dreamwalker, you are definitely talented!

Hi Dream!
OMG, I love this. Your talent is just woah. And I love the concept of it.

So nitpicking this,
1. His left leg is slightly skinnier than his right leg.
2. The no definitive nose makes his face look blank. (Well, I'm not sure if you get my drift.)
3.He slims down at the torso a little too much. For guys, I think a straighter outline is better.

That's about it. Keep up this awesomosity!

I really like the way you styled his hair, and you've captured the emotion in his face very well.

One thing I would improve on is the anatomy. I'm no super-genius artist or anything, but he looks a bit too thin to me...maybe you wanna add some muscles, or make his torso thicker or something?

Unless that's just an art style or something. Then it's cool. :)

I absolutely love the concept! It really makes you think. I love complex things like that. And art with a meaning makes a greater impact than those without. At least that's what I think :)

Things I love: The shading, his expression, his hair, the wings. And the awesome 'Love is my weapon' is extremely inspiring.

Stuff I noticed: He doesn't seem fully centered between the wings. As soon as you get down towards his hips he seems tilted and unstable. His legs are also unusually skinny and long. His butt if virtually nonexistent. And I can't see his toes.

Keep it up! (even though now I see this drawing is pretty old! xD )

This is a lovely piece. I think I can see where you tried to define the nose, but I'd make that a little more obvious. I'd also widen his hips a tad and add a defining line on his left ankle just like you did on the right. His wings are simply perfection!

Okay, of course, your shading job is undeniably great so I must start off by complimenting that.

Now, I'll just dive right into what's got your anatomy wonky looking. Your shoulders aren't wide enough. Because of this fact, his torso has been thrown off. His head shape and neck are great and totally in sync with each other, but the width of the shoulder is more of a woman's length. Guys are supposed to be wider and have broader shoulders. It's not that he's too thin and needs more muscle, it's that his head is too big for the width of the shoulders! If you look at his body from the shoulders down, the only problem you would then see is just that his torso is too short. His belly button would end up just below where his arm is and that is waaaay too close to his...man business (for lack of a better word) to be anatomically correct. So bottom line of this paragraph is the shoulder width, or the size of the head need to be adjusted accordingly.

Next, I'll pick on the legs. It's not that his right (your left) leg is thinner, it's just the angle in which you're looking at the leg. His left leg is turned to where you can slightly see the inner thigh which tends to have more fat and gives the leg more shape on guys when looking at it. The only real thing wrong with his legs--that I see anyway--is that the right leg's knees is lower. Because I can't see the feet I'm having a hard time figuring out if perhaps he's walking and you tried to take the perspective of that leg into account, but either way the knee would either be level or higher than the one next to it.

Then I'm not really gonna touch on the arm that's wrapping around him because there's something I don't quite like about it, but I can't figure out what it is so I can't give you suggests as to how to fix it. I don't think it's the proportions...but I'm not really sure XD

So I always like to end reviews with something else I like. Actually, I really like how you didn't add a nose onto the face. Because half of his face is the doll, and that part covers up the area where his nose would be, eliminating the nose. I also like that the eyes are slightly different. At first, I hadn't realized it was because half his face is the doll, but once I did, I thought it added nice detail to the picture/character. And I do assume you did the eyes thing on purpose! Though, even when I mess up like that I try to make it look like I did it on purpose ;p Hope I helped and was brutal enough for you!
