After searching the man's mind, he was content that he posed no threat. Though he still didn't like him helping.
"I don't see why you want to help, you have no reason to tie you to these people," Jay argued. "Don't let yourself die needlessly." His blood was boiling, anger swelling inside him. This guy had to have some sort of other motivation.
"You ought to be careful with those emotions," Jaspar pointed out. "And I believe my motives are my own business. Now am I to assist you or not?"
"Or not," Jay grumled as he ran away from Jaspar through the underground settlement, looking for Aisling. The stench of smoke was heavy in the air. Somewhere, the fire had spread to the underground. Soon the entire place would be in flames.
