Ashara

I couldn't feel anything anymore. Keith was going to die, all because of me.

And to make it worse my father wouldn't let me out of his sight! He followed me to my room and locked me in, and then wouldn't let me leave until he came and got me. Now I sat in his office, in a corner, as he plotted Keith's doom. The monster.

I tried to plead with him.

"Father, please! Plush couldn't help it if she got by him! He was asleep!"

My father looked at me over his glasses. "Ashara, you and I both know that Plush is an incredibly light sleeper. We made him so. He could've stopped her, and thus he'll pay the price."

I slouched, the fight would be soon. I had to stop if somehow, or at least change Father's mind before then. Groaning inwardly, I fought tears realizing that neither one was probably going to happen.

One thing was for sure. I had to see Keith, tonight.

Madison/Hush

"So where are we going?" Madison asked. Just as she spoke, her stomach growled loudly.

Sully laughed. "I guess it looks like we're going out for dinner."

The doctor didn't say anything, but nodded her agreement. Everyone seemed to be hungry.

"Where do you want to go?" Sully asked.

"I haven't had a decent meal in years," Madison said quietly. "Anything is good by me."

*perhaps they'll meet the others that are out to eat?*

Amelia

Amelia watched cautiously through the window as the human, Jonah, walked toward the small restaurant on the corner. She sank back into her seat, quivering.

Amelia closed her eyes for a moment, trying to calm herself. She wasn't going back. She couldn't go back. Amelia's hand drifted up to finger the tear in her shoulder. She's have to fix that.

Amelia pushed the two flaps of fabric closer together, and looked around the floor of the car for anything she could use to pin herself together. Amelia froze at the low grumbling of tires moving slowly over gravel. She spun around to look over her shoulder toward the source of the noise. A police car was slowly moving down the small street; its occupants were surveying the scene with minimal interest.

Amelia gave a quiet whimper, and slid down farther into her seat. The thought had just occurred to her; if the Cambles had gone to the authorities about her disappearance...

From her crouched position at the bottom of the car, Amelia peeked to look through the windows. She waited until the police had turned the corner and were out of site. With one fluid movement, Amelia jumped out of the car and sped toward the restaurant door. She spotted Jonah and Alasdair sitting in the far corner. Amelia hurried over to their table and sat down quickly without a word. Alasdair stared at her, but Jonah gave her a quick glance before returning to inspect the menu.

Subconsciously, Amelia's hand drifted back up to her shoulder and began to fiddle with the tear.

"There's a place- oh wow..." The doctor sounded surprised. "Sully, did you see that?"

"See what?"

"The doll- one of us, she dashed into the restaurant! We should check it out."

"I thought you didn't like being with me in public, having to pretend you're my property."

"I don't, but this is interesting. Come on, it's even a restaurant. Even if it's nothing, we can at least eat."

Sully pulled the car into the parking lot and all three got out.

Alasdair

"Ah, noodles," He spoke with a hint of excitement. He shoved a large portion experty into his mouth with the the wooden pair of chopsticks it came with. "I wuv newdulls."

"Please, try not talking with your mouth full," Jonah shook his head, cheeks colouring as people turned to stare. "I really can't take you anywhere without you causing a scene."

"Shh," he grumbled, swallowing heavily. "I'm manneryly enough. And anyways, if people stare its their own business, not mine."

He turned towards the female ragdoll, brown eyes inquisitive. She was poking at whatever was on her plate, seemingly quiet and on edge.

"What's your name?" He asked, rather bluntly.

"Alasdair!"

"Hey, I didn't demand it!" Alasdair glared.

"You could try being a little kinder." Jonah seemed exasperated.

"Nah, that takes effort. I dont really like effort." He turned back towards the girl. "So? What is it? Come on, speak up."

She glanced at him, no sign that her lips were going to move at all. Jonah seemed pretty pleased with this as he raised noodles to his lips. "See what happens when you're rude, Alasdair? You dont get what you want."

Alasdair crossed his arms over his chest rather peevishly, glaring at the plate in front of him. "It was just a question. Know need to get all huffy."

Jonah

"Well maybe if you actually listened, you would have known her name was Amelia." Jonah said, stirring the noodles around his bowl. He wasn't exactly that hungry, he was more interested in the ragdoll that he had just picked up. She seemed quiet almost scared, and he watched as she fingered the tear in her arm not trying to make eye contact with anyone.

"I can fix that for you, you know?" Jonah said with a small smile and he pulled out a small sewing kit. "I always have to have a sewing kit on me because I never know what kind of trouble Alasdair will get into."

There was some grumbling from Alasdair to this, but he didn't fight it, he just kept on gorging himself on his soup.

"I can do it my--" Amelia was cut off by a group of people who entered the restaurant. Her eyes seemed to follow them carefully, and it caught Jonah's eye also. For there was a man and two ragdolls." It seemed kind of odd, the man looked suspicious eyes jutting around the room as if he was cautious and wanted to make sure everything was alright. The ragdolls eyes had settled directly on Amelia and their table.

"Alasdair, I think there might be trouble," Jonah hissed. He didn't trust these people. They seemed odd to him, something just wasn't right.

Alasdair had finished his soup and pushed his bowl away, a vicious grin appearing on his stitched face. "Trouble ain't so bad now is it."

"If it comes to a fight, then I want you to get them outside. I don't want any citizens to get hurt." Jonah's voice was brisk and deliberate.

"It seems you guys have been in this situation before," Amelia said, her voice soft.

"Indeed a great many times." Jonah grumbled.

"They just don't know how to mess with the Alasdair," he said getting up out of his seat, cracking his knuckles.

"I always end up getting rid of them and saving you."

"I know how to fight my own battles..." Alasdair voice drifted off as they came close enough to them.

"Do you have a problem?" Jonah said getting up to face the group, stepping in front of Amelia because he saw how their eyes lingered on her.

Guys, Jonah is just hostile because he has been attacked plenty of time because he was a politician. He knows when someone is acting suspicious, but you can easily gain his trust though by showing you mean no harm. ;)

Madison/Hush

"Do you have a problem?" a man stood from a table where he sat with two ragdolls, and approached Madison and the others.

Madison quickly hid behind Sully. She hoped this man wasn't connected with whatever sketchy organization had claim over her last.

The doctor stepped in front of Sully, crossing her arms. "That depends, do you have a problem?"

Madison let out a soft whimper. She had just become free, and this situation didn't look like it was going to end in a place where she could still consider herself so.

Jonah

"That depends, do you have a problem?"

Jonah was surprised that the ragdoll came up and stood infront of Sully, something that wasn't expected. She seemed to be well treated, unlike some of the others he had seen. Jonah leaned a bit closer so that only she could hear him.

"I am unsure of who you people are, but if you are hear to collect Amelia I cannot let you to do so. She has bought her freedom, and I plan to keep her free."

Alasdair

He had watched the defensive move the one ragdoll had made towards the other. Feeling... inspired, he stood from where he sat, placing his hand on the edge of Amelia's chair, glaring viciously.

She looked up then back down, not stirring from where she sat.

"Alasdair, would you please sit back down," Jonah stated, although his voice was edgy, impulsive as if to show that he was ready to jump into action at any minute. Not the voice of Jonah that he had been used to.

Alasdair pursed his lips, not moving from where he stood. "You always get to play hero, Jonah. Why can't I for just a little bit?"

Dr. Bronte/"Mittens"

"Amelia?" The doctor's brow arced. "You honestly think we're bounty hunters? I never thought I'd meet a human with sawdust between his ears."

"Jane..." Sully said warningly.

"Hey, no one can talk to Jonah like that but me!" the boy doll growled. His fingers curled into fists.

Dr. Bronte paid Sully no mind, instead pushing back her dark floppy hat so she could see the others better. "I can assure you, my dear sirs and miss, that we mean none of you any harm. I saw the girl run in here like she was in trouble. We only wanted to see if we could help."

"Like I'd believe that, mittens," Alasdair retorted.

The doctor's eyes flashed angrily as her mitten-like hands curled into fists. "Funny, you didn't strike me as the suicidal sort."

Alasdair

He could feel his lips pulling back, excitement flaring.

"I'm already dead, mind you. There's really nothing you could do to me now that would change that."

He flicked his eyes in Jonah's direction, knowing that this was not the right words to say, but he could not hide them and was not ashamed of them. He was only alive now cause they made him this way. Jonah's lips pursed, eyes staring down. It was an unapproachable subject, as when he first found alasdair, he was a wreck. Torn and dying. Cold.

Winter was what they called him. A cold, lifeless winter.

"If you are not here to cause any harm, I assure you neither are we," Jonah stated, not looking up from where he sat. "We just came for a meal. Thai food is..."

"My favourite," Alasdair stated, sitting back down but his hand was still firmly placed on Amelia's chair.
