This is a collection of images I did between the wee hours of 2:00 and 4:00 AM. Please tell me how to improve on my inkwork, as I plan to use this pen on many other pictures. Also, any tips on crosshatching? I used a little bit, but for the most part there was no shading in these images.
I don't have a scanner, so the quality is horrible.

This is a closeup of the sigil on the next-to-last pic (the one with the weird, rounded houses) and is also my avatar, so, yeah...

Hey Jen! These are lovely, by the way.

1) The sea at the bottom isn't very clear, I don't know whether that's the drawing or just your lack of scanner! Also, the ladders kind of bend weirdly instead of being a little slack like you'd think they'd be. It looks like it's tilting slightly too, which, although kind of good seeing as it's in the sea, detracts from the picture. I like the lettering, though! It's really nice.

2)Wow. This one is my absolute favourite! It's awesome, totally awesome. It does seem to be tilting slightly, but you've done such a great job on it. I especially love the planks over the windows, the detail on those is perfect.

3) I don't like this one as much as the second, simply because it doesn't seem to have as much detail as that one. I love your Halloween details though, the tree is pretty awesome!

4) I don't really like this one. The colour isn't working for me, I liked the simple pen work that you had before. And, again, it doesn't measure up to the second one in detail. Your tree is pretty cool here too, but the windows and doors look weird, probably because a lot of your lines aren't straight.

5) Ooh, I like this one! The sci-fi thing is really cool! What I would suggest, however, is building on the main part of the picture (the building) and making it even better, rather than adding smaller things around it. But it's really good! Oh, and the sigil is awesome.

Wonderful stuff, there.

Hello, call me Freak, please! :)

These are all very, very good! It amazes me at how detailed they all are! I can not get over those facts.

1: Again, very detailed, very good. I would suggest that you don't put other letters from another word in between a word. It makes it seem like that letter is a part of the word: "somle."
2: This one is a little...'tipsy,' so to speak. Like the cat should be more realistic and should look a little more off balance, after all, he is on a slanting roof. The porch steps too should be more...step looking, haha. It just looks like a couple planks of wood glue together.
3: The windows and the tree are pretty much the only things that bother me: The tree should, I think, look more rooty, i guess, since that's not a word (add more roots, it isn't JUST there).
4:this one i think is perfect, but the pictures connected to the rooster thing should be more descriptive on their own (what are they?)
5:again, more proportioned.
Good job over all :D
Write on.

Jentura!

I'm pleasantly impressed! These are really good. I can't offer you much help on these at all. My favorite is the colored in one -- it's pretty and dramatic. Some of your proportions are a touch off, but that adds to the charm nonetheless.

Cross hatching? It's a fairly simple technique, though you should weave it as close as possible. I usually begin my cross hatching going in the direction of my dominant lines -- say if my drawing was composed mostly of horizontals, I'd begin in horizontals, not bothering at first to bring them close, and then bring in the verticals, coming closer where I want darker and looser where I want lighter. If you like, I can draw up a tutorial on it, but judging from your skill level, I mayn't be much help.

You have such clean lines and dramatic flair -- I can say I've fallen in love with your art. :)

Hey Jentura!!

I so love them. You have such an amazing talent! *gold stars*

I've never used ink before, so I'll help you out on visually appealing nature of these oh-so-awesome stuff!
1. This is really good, and nice captioning, but the font and the broken crazy should be changed. It sort of distracts a person from the main drawing.
2. This is my fave. I love it. I don't think I have any complaints.
3. The mound is the only thing I disklike (well not dislike, but less-like it :) ) At a first glance, it reminds me of a clud with roots pulling it down toward the earth.
4. I love the colored one, but the inside view seems like you did that in a hasty after-thought. It doesn't look appealing. Also, I think your forte is just plain ink drawings. They look much nicer.
5. Great futuristic look, but the flames of the rocket seem very unreal. It catches my eye immediately and you need to work on that. The rest of it is good, especially your proportions.

Keep up the awesomosity!

I just want to say that the second one is really, really good!

The other ones were, okay, but the second one, like, made my jaw drop! It's the kind of thing I'd expect to see in a Shel Silverstein book ^^

However, I'd recommend not using lined paper, because lined paper is just icky, haha.

Hey,Jen

I agree with Lena. The second drawing is amazing!
I keep going back to it. The others are great but Whoa! that second one is almost perfect. The details are amazing too. Love the pumpkin in the corner, and the crooked steps.

I do too agree that the lined paper is distracting.
But you're talented! Keep going!

Oh my god. these are amazing! Really reminds me of Dr seus! I especially love the second picture! You're style is amazing, how you draw the rooft tiles and bricks... the first one is very like dr seus. I guess he inspired you? If not then whoah i'm sorry. But these drawings are so cartoony there isn't really anything about them that's puts me off them! Maybe a bit more detail and yes, shading would make them look amazing. But other than that, keep drawing and put these drawings somewhere safe so you don't loose them! They wow me. ;)

keep drawing!!!!
