"We shall go on to the end ... we shall never surrender" - Winston Churchill
spare a minute for the ones nobody wants to remember, who let us be who we want today. forever thanking them. RIP.
tommy was a young boy when the bullets
executed him, tormenting his mind and
shredding a forgotten generation...
martyrdom is subjective but sacrifices
are always the same -
because tommy went on to the end, he fought
in france, on the seas and the oceans, on
the beaches, on the landing grounds, on the
fields and in the streets, in the hills and he
never did he surrender. an island was thankful.
tommy's name was never recorded in ink
but his deeds and heroism wrote themselves,
a scrapbook stained with blood and earth.
because memories are deeper then graves,
and there are still a thousand poppies
for every tear spilt and every battle won.
