Wow, long time since I posted here!

So, I've got some new photos here. But what I also want to ask you guys is if you could possibly take a quick look at my entire thread and just say your favourite photo. I need to submit one for school, and I don't know which one to pick. (Bear in mind, I can straighten horizons on my computer!)

Grazing into the night [2].
So this one is actually a darker version of my horse photo. I like it, you see. Is it any better?

Dead Ivy
I'm sort of iffy about this one, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Laughter is the best remedy.
Another one of my modelling photos. Which do you prefer, monochrome or colour?

Bouncing towards the sky. (monochrome and colour)
I'm not sure which one I prefer: black and white, or colour. Any suggestions?

So, any comments are welcome! I'd especially like help with choosing the best, it's important. But really, anything you say is appreciated.

Thanks!

:smt024 Hey, Amy! I'm not one for photos, but I'll try my best at reviewing what I can. Hope it helps, and I don't totally slash your style. :)

...numbering the photos, chronologically...

Here I go...

1: I love the horse, it gives it a sort of.. peaceful feel to it, I guess. Nothing I see that could fix it.

2: Hhmm.. I think it's missing an element, like a bug on one of the roots of the ivy? I don't know, but I still like it.

3: Nada.

4: I like the monochrome better, but you should highlight another aspect in there, like the grass or the tree behind her/you.

Over all, you're wa-ay better of a photographer than me, by far. I liked Bouncing towards the sky the most, I think it has personality and emotion insinuated in the picture. I'd use that as the photo for school.

Love,
Fixed

The hardest mountain to climb will have the greatest view. Everything at a different angle: memories serve as double vision, a view from the valleys as well as the precipice. But everything that goes up must come down. The descent from the peak will be twice as graceful & three times as difficult

Thanks, Fixed! And you don't like the laughing one? Darn. Maybe I only do because it's my sister ... :D

I guess I'll have to review all of these lovely photos. Brace yourself.

Danger, mines!

I enjoy the sign, I want one. But it's a little bit dull, specifically having it in monochrome. Maybe sepia or just regular colours would of worked better in this case. Also, I would have gotten a little closer to the sign and taken a less direct angle. Straightforward shots are often boring and plain.

Gorgeous George

Kitty! <3 Beautiful cat. This seems a little too blurry for mean and once again drab, monochrome usually ends up being so unless you have deeply contrasting shades, remember that. But very cute otherwise.

Boat
You went to Greece? In Skiathos? I was there too o.o On a boat. We must talk. The picture itself is once again dull, but not from the colours, the colours are gorgeous. You spanned out too far and the slight tilt of the picture makes it look 'tourist-attempting-photographythatlooksartistic.' *nods* It's just a little sloppy.

Staying Alive
Eh, drab again. It's too dark, possibly adjusting the exposure of the picture would improve that, and it's a bit of a typical shot.

Last of the Sun
This one is very nice. Looks like something that would be on a brochure to a warm place. mmm. Very nice. I think adjusting the saturation just a little bit would be good too.

-- End of Series 1: These are amateur-ish with room for a lot of improvement but you have potential.

Fashion Shot
Haha! Very nice, I love the monochrome but some colours shine through. It looks really cool. Is it a camera feature? I don't have much problem with this because it's such a fun shot.

Sunset
This is sort of a typical shot. The straight ahead, orange sunset. But it never tires to be beautiful, that I agree with. Try to have some more creative angles and takes on things.

Sailing
The outline of the boat is sort of lost in the shadow of the island. So you lost the beauty you could of had in this shot. Adjusting the exposure just a teeny bit might help, but even so slightly.

Grazing
Horsey <3 This one is gorgeous. I love horses and the soft lighting on this one gives it an incredibly peaceful feeling around it.

--End of Section #2: Getting better. The horse one is gorgeous, and we must discuss about Greece. There was an obvious improvement between the two sections.

Grazing 2
I like the other one better, the lighter, softer one gives a much better effect.

Dead Ivy
This one is nice, I think the problem is the colour palette that is presented. It's all in the blue-ish green tones that create a bit of a washed out effect. Playing with the saturation might adjust that. Don't me afraid to play around with editing.

Modeling #2
I like the colour one better in this case, it looks like your sister was drawn onto a picture which is a little creepy. xD Otherwise, it's a lovely shot with nice lighting and your sister is very pretty ^^

Modeling #3
I like the monochrome one better in this case, it looks cool with a black and white background, but the colour one s very nice too. You must have a fantastic camera if you caught her in the air like that.

--End of series #3: More obvious improvement. We can tell you are putting more thought into your pictures and they're turning out well. Keep snapping love.
