There was silence following Luke's words. Shahara stared at him, her face stuck in a most un-ladylike mixture of confusion and shock, her mouth agape and brows furrowed. Then she caught her composure and her features went straight to angry.
"Are you serious?" She half-yelled. "We could have told you that forever ago before we were locked in a nasty cell wondering why the hell we're being treated this way! I was locked in my own house, and had to escape my own house, and now you're telling me it's all because of some big misunderstanding?"
Luke blinked at her, slightly in shock. "Well, it's-"
"If my life has suddenly gone to Hell because of this, I'd hate to hear what has happened to these people." She gestured at the others.
Llama 1:"Shh! Do you hear that? That's the sound of forgiveness." Llama 2:"That's the sound of people drowning, Carl!" Llama 1:"That is what forgiveness sounds like; screaming and then silence."
Susa, who had been staring at Luke in shock, suddenly spoke, her voice trembling from barely controlled rage.
“When our father finds out about this,” she said. “It will either break his heart or ignite his fury. How dare you do this to us?” The last part came out in a snarl. Simon placed a hand on her shoulder. He could feel her rage, much more scorching than she let show on the surface. Personally, he wished a million curses on Luke.
Luke smiled in a worried way.
“Oh, your father knows of this,” he said. “In fact, he helped make the decision. He gave most convincing evidence, so it’s him you have to thank for your little, uh, Dilemma.” Luke waved his hand around, indicating the world in general. Simon’s jaw clenched.
“Liar!” He growled, his eyes blazing.
“I won’t believe it!” Cried Susa, distressed. Luke smiled and shrugged, as if they were two young children who did not understand the nature of betrayal.
The others are right, thought Simon. Luke is a no-good bastard. I hope he dies a horrible death, Simon leaned on the back of Susa’s chair, his eyes trained on the regent, because if anyone deserves one, he does.

*Did I mention that Simon gets really ticked off whenever anyone messes with his family? No? Well, Simon gets really ticked off whenever anyone messes with his family.

Karana stood, dumbfounded for a moment, simply staring at the floor. She - all of them! - had been arrested because they were...innocent? Her - all of theirs! - life had been ruined, reputation gone, because they were...innocent? She felt her temper snap.
"What...the..." she began, voice short and soft, "hell?!" The last word was explosively loud.
The guard raised a hand to her, to silence her.
She went on, ignoring the blow. "You mean to tell me my career vanished because of this? Because you and the God-damn airheads running this country acted priorly without cause?!"
Luke merely smiled at her as a couple of men grabbed her by the arms. She was shaking in fury. My ranks in the military were stripped! Because of you! Damn you, you lying son of a...
"You are correct on half of that," he continued to smile, talking smuggly. That tone only made her even more furious. "The other officials accused you, but with their father's evidence - "
"Oh, shove it, asshole!"

The others were taking turns shouting at Luke, something that Nyk found highly amusing. Luke gave an exasperated sigh and glanced at the rest of the group. "So, anything else you want to add? Insults, accusations, condemnations?"
Nyk smirked slightly, his silver eyes glittering. He brushed strands of blue-gray hair out of his face as he spoke. "Well, I was basically a hermit before this mess. So I didn't have a reputation for you to ruin." He smiled wistfully, quoting something his mother had often said. "What care I for the regard of humans?"

Atila felt a bit sorry for Luke, having to go through all that trouble, but he was still a ninny to her.
Atila yawned. "I've gone through this too many times." She didn't take a seat. If she did she would probably fall asleep. She stopped trying to take her wrists out of the cuffs.
"That is not something to be proud of," Luke scolded mildly.
Atila shrugged, "And my reputation has always been ruined. People don't care who delivers their meat. The Court doesn't care who delivers them food. Too bad for you folk's reputations."
Some glared at her. Atila stared at the floor. Luke eye's went uneasy but then it washed off like a wave.
Great! Making enemies already are you! You daft! ...Oi, where is Hero?
"Oi, you said you wanted to ask somethin' of us." Atila tried to relieve the pressure from her. "Ey, and do you know where Hero, my dog, is?" She noticed she was the only one with the peasant accent.
Atila's accent sounds sort of scottish. Not truly peasant though. I don't know how to put it. Oh, well.
I follow four rules when writing 1. Don't think. Just write. 2.Never take the pencil from the page when writing 3.Don't erase. Even if what you wrote didn't make sense 4.No need for grammar, punctuation, or spelling when writing
And when your done writing you stop and break all the rules
Luke glanced at Atila and took a deep breath, "I'm not sure where your dog is, but I want to say something," he paused and looked them each all in the eyes, "It wasn't me who ordered you here. It was the Court. Believe it or not, but being the Regent doesn't grant you instantaneous power. Regent means that I stand in for the rightful heir until they meet the necessary requirements to become the rightful Crowned Ruler. As a Regent I have to sometimes bend to the will of the Courtesians."
He took his time to look everyone in the eye once again, "The Court ordered the capture of you and I could only agree. One strong vote against several scores of medium votes is vastly out-weighed. I couldn't do much."
Linx let out a giggled, 'Well, ain't you the perfect little puppet?"
Luke ignored him and continued, his tone controlled to not betray any emotion, "They're all set on executing you traditionally and publically. Legally, once again returning to the voting process, I can't do anything about that. However, I don't like to see innocents callously murdered."
"Before I continue, I want you all to swear that what I say next does not leave this room or so curse your soul to the damnations of hell for a thousand eternities." He took a deep breath and waited.
Linx raised a hand and waved it around, staring at it with mischevious eyes, "I will blah blah blah, what he said, not tell a single person anything about what you're going to say next."
*The technical terms for witches are Magi(feminine) and Magus(masculine)*
Nykyrian(Nyk)-
"Shit." Nyk swore to himself. His mother had never trained him with his powers but she had taught him an important lesson. For a Magus to give an oath was a serious thing. Their magic would bind their lives to the vow, to break it would mean a fate worse then death.
On the other hand, it was probably the only way he was getting out of this room alive. Nyk met Luke's eyes, seeing knowledge there, the burden of lives lost and lives yet in the balance. Carefull to word the oath, Nyk swore. "I will never speak of the events that happened in this room, on this night. To anyone who was not here. By blood and fire, war and spirit. I do so swear."
He flinched as a ring of light banded his throat, the scent of burning filled the air. Light faded, ancient symbols ringed his neck. A brand, and a promise. Nyk rubbed the mark for a moment. Defiant silver eyes surveyed the room, waiting for peoples reactions.
*Oath-binding is an unconscious magic. Something he can't control, centuries ago, the witch race misused their powers, conquering many lands. When they were over thrown by other witches, the rebels bound the powers of their entire race, Oath-binding is one of those chains.*

Luke's eyes widened and anger reddened them for a second, but then he blinked them away, "Nyk, I think that's your name. I will not condone magic used in MY Converse Room. Please refrain yourself from it."
Linx whistled and grinned at Nyk, "Nice lighting."
Luke turned his attention to the others who hadn't replied yet, "Well?"
Shahara stared at Nyk. That was the second time she'd seen magic in her life. It was a shock, to see it so bodly performed in front of the Regent, but then again, she'd heard of unconscious magic using. That's what had happened the last time she saw it. Some poor guy was scared to death and ended up setting his own house on fire.
Shahara turned and studied Luke. She could believe the court ordered this. In fact, she could believe her own father had voted for this. So, she nodded and spoke. "I swear that what you say next does not leave this room or so curse my soul to the damnations of hell for a thousand eternities."
Luke nodded at her, then looked to the others.
Llama 1:"Shh! Do you hear that? That's the sound of forgiveness." Llama 2:"That's the sound of people drowning, Carl!" Llama 1:"That is what forgiveness sounds like; screaming and then silence."
The twins looked at each other, confused. They weren’t sure if they could trust Luke anymore.
Susa had been just as furious as her brother when Luke had told them they were brought here for no good reason. But, now, well… maybe he wasn’t such a bad man after all. She turned to Simon, who shrugged.
“Well?” He said. “We have to agree, don’t we?” Susa nodded. She turned back to face Luke.
“Very well,” She began. “We promise not to speak to anyone about what happens here tonight,”
“With the exception of those who are present,” Simon added. Susa glanced back at her brother, who was still leaning on her chair. She settled herself back into the seat, crossed her legs and waited for someone else to speak.
*I played with Susa's point of view for this one. ^-^*

Karana sighed, listening to the others. It was a boring event; she wished it would be over with, so she could get back to her life...well, what was left of it. She locked gazes with Luke, staring deep into those commanding eyes.
"Like my fellow scapegoats, I solemnly swear to not repeat any word or memory that has occurred and will occur in this chamber to anyone outside of us." She kept her tone level, her eyes glued to his. A soldier's promise. It wasn't as grand as the magus' display, but it would have to suffice. Not that it really mattered.

*question how many court members are their cause I thought their were like a hundred of them and with in the hundred their was like an inner circle, that's just how I had imagined it but it's your storybook. I was Just wondering*
Johnathan
I blinked once as Luke delivered the news. Had the court voted me to death. How many times had I stood by their sides talked and laughed with them. The most devastating of all was Julius betrayal how could he of voted me to death he had been like a farther to me for year showing me the do's and don't of the courts.
" I swear I will not speak of what happen in this room alkai" I said Alkai was something one of my mothers boyfriends had often said. He had been from a country far off to the east. He was the favourite of all my mothers boyfriends. He had even tried to take us to back to his his country when he returned after his 12 month journey sadly he had to little money. He had given me his address and places I could find him in his country but sadly My life had never before allowed me the time to travel and visit him. After this was all over and those who I would make pay had payed the dept to me maybe just maybe I could start a new life.
